《Those Zombies Again》Chapter 29

In a good mood, Sam continued to walk forward, he found a map in advance and approximately figured out where to move.
After 2 days, he left the forest and, continuing to walk, found a small town on the outskirts. He needed to get to a relatively large city V in country C, there was an airport.
However, Sam also looked for any strong zombies for the sake of cores and people for information. He decided this time to try not to immediately muddy the waters and not kill everyone in a row, hoping to get into a large camp in this country.
He was going to collect more than 10 cores and try to find someone who can make him a spatial storage, after all, this is an ordinary class, and he believed that in a large camp there would be someone with this skill. Of course it was extremely dangerous, but it was worth a try
While Sam was on his way, moving between buildings, someone actually shoot at him with a rifle. He got hit a several times in a row so his armor was less than a half energy left.
He instantly run away as far as possible. He did not care who was it, and he was not going to try to go for revenge or any other crap like that. Firearms is something that should not be messed with. He made a big trip around the zone to bypass those assholes.
He cleaned out this part of town he got to and spent the night in it, after which he went to the city V.
Sam already knew the approximate location of the local government camp, he did not come close to it and, having climbed onto the roof of a high-rise building, watched the camp from afar.

The camp was large enough, the walls were three meters high, and wide enough for sentries to move along them. The walls fenced off a large territory on which the improvised town was located.
Sam continued to watch until he found a capture target outside the city. After that, he knocked out two unlucky ones and dragged them into the building. Sam practiced to knock out people with a sword hilt on his lab rats.
When they woke up, Sam began to question them. Apparently, the camp was really government, besides, law and order were observed on the surface. There was a man with identification skills at the entrance.
This skill was level 5, it showed only the level and, oddly enough, the status name of the person being tested, moreover, it could only be used almost point-blank to the target.
Sam level 13
Class Immortal
Strength 18
Agility 23
Stamina 15
Toughness 13
Spirit 14
Unallocated stat points 0
Abilities - Premonition of Danger, Spiritual Armor.
Sam did not know how the camp would react to his level. He added dexterity and was confident that if necessary, he could quickly run and climb over the wall. In addition, he could feel strong negative emotions directed at him. Even so, he was frankly nervous.
He learned that there is a market in the camp where a variety of people with craft skills offer their services. Also recently a store has appeared in which a master has appeared, which he needs.
Perhaps he worked for the government, at least 1 fighter was always watching him. Sam told his captive to draw him a map of the store's location. By this time, one of the hostages was already dead, Sam finished off the second and went in search of a couple of more cores that he lacked.

Sam did not want to be checked at the entrance, but he could not have jumped unnoticed behind the walls. He decided to try to get into the camp at night, after all, it was quite large, according to the guys he killed, the population was close to 20 thousand.
At night, he chose the best place for penetration and began to wait patiently, looking at the guards through binoculars. It was only around 4 o'clock in the morning that Sam noticed the opportunity. The sentries were not very close together, and it was rather dark.
One of the guards apparently fell asleep while sitting on the wall, the other was clearly nodding, Sam chose the right moment and slowly, without noise, approached and climbed over the wall, there was still noise, but it was not noticed. And even if they noticed, Sam would not lose anything, he would just run away.
In a camp for 20 thousand people, it is simply impossible for everyone to know by sight, Sam stuffed his weapon into a case completely. In the morning he came to the right store.
Inside were a crafter and his guard. Sam asked how long the enchanting takes and what the limitations were. Crafter replied that it only takes a minute, and rings and bracelets will do, in general, whatever is most convenient for him. And of course you need 10 cores.
On the counter there were a variety of accessories to choose from. Sam had prepared a ring in advance, just in case, but found only a gold one, but on the counter he noticed a better option, a completely black steel ring, the appearance was not pretentious and would not attract attention.
Sam tried on the ring and paid 12 cores the crafter requested. Two additional cores was the payment for his work, Sam of course did not bicker, apparently no one was in a hurry to rob him, and thanks for that.

Leaves of Terranthir
DISCONTINUED - I won't be writing more of this fiction. Check out the latest post for a worlbuilding summary / final thoughts. Leaves of Terranthir is a gamelit blend of ARPG, action, fantasy, and slice of life. It's inspired in part by some of my favourite games, borrowing in themes, sense of exploration, and aesthetics from the Soulsborne and soulslike genre, mixed heavily with arpg itemization from Diablo/PoE style games. While many may remember their Soulslike experiences as nothing more than suffering, I personally loved the sense of progression, to prevail over challenges and monsters that seemed impossible to defeat at first. If any of that seems interesting to you, do check out the first chapter and let me know what you think. Cheers, and thanks for reading. Cover by Baconstrap.

The Archaic Ring
An original story inspired by xianxia and western fantasy. At sixteen years old, Nolan spent most of his time skipping class and playing video games, though he'd been getting into more fights lately than he cared to admit. His once record-high academics were nearing the end of a gradual decline, a byproduct of a growing indifference that had begun to fester after his parents' divorce. All of his worries dissipate like smoke in the wind when he inexplicably wakes up in another world, only to be replaced by a wider spectrum of vexing problems. BOOK ONE NOW ON AMAZON!
