《Those Zombies Again》Chapter 25

Getting out of the car, Sam looked around. Although nature was gradually changing, but still not so quickly, spirituality was just beginning to emerge, unlike humans, animals did not turn into zombies, so even though there were not many animals initially, Sam still hoped to find someone worthy.
He began to go deeper into the forest and, just in case, looked into the compass so as not to get lost. Today he does not have much time left until the evening, so he will not go far, but still the forest is wide enough, next time he will enter from another part of the forest.
Sam saw a boar, but it was small, so Sam doubted that it was a strong animal and he did not chase after it. Sam also examined various fruits, although he did not notice anything special in them, but nevertheless he picked some.
After wandering for a couple of hours, Sam killed a small lynx and a snake. He did not hide the traces of blood and simply stuffed the bloody carcasses into the bag and went back.
About an hour later, on the way back, he met a small pack of wolves, apparently they themselves found him. There were only five of them, and one of them was really big. Sam, as always, decided not to take risks, he climbed a large tree, but climbed not too high for the wolves to jump.
The wolves surrounded Sam and, smelling the smell of blood, began to try to jump to him, Sam was just waiting for this, in the jump, wolves are easy prey for him. Sam managed to hack to death three wolves in a jump when the leader of the pack finally made his move.
He did not jump directly to Sam, who was standing on a branch, but first jumped onto a tree trunk and from there jumped on Sam, and his speed was tremendous. The last two wolves attacked at the same time, so Sam decided to focus on the leader.

Considering that the leader was trying to bite into Sam's throat, Sam decided to execute not a sweeping blow, but stabbing right into the face of the wolf. Sam was in time and the sword plunged into the wolf's head. Although the second wolf attacked Sam and tried to nibble a piece off of him, he was certainly not strong enough to pierce the armor.
As Sam hoped, the wolf leader turned out to be type 1, that is, at least level 10. It's funny that if not for the tremendous speed and momentum of the wolf, Sam would hardly have been able to pierce him so easily, in fact, the wolf helped him. Sam got 200 thousand particles for the wolf, and instantly raised the level.
Moreover, the rest of the wolves also added about 80 thousand to him, so that Sam, in fact, approached the 12th level, Sam was convinced that he needed to hunt people or animals and not waste time on zombies. Sam even thought about going to the Amazon.
Sam could not carry all the wolves to the car at once, so he took the most valuable and huge leader, and another of the larger ones, and dragged them along the ground. Finally returning to the car, he threw them right inside and ran back.
After completing the second walk and filling the car, he drove to the mansion.
Upon arrival, the gate was opened for him and he drove inside. The mansion had a generator, so all but two wolves were dragged into the freezer in the basement. Sam asked to teach him how to dry meat, since in the future he will have to prepare food for himself more than once.
Sam also wanted to test if the effects of wolf meat would be of type 0 and type 1, respectively, so he instructed Jane to collect information about the statistics and levels of each, and then, so that she would tell him if, and what the effects would be.

Eating meat of the 0th type, as before, Sam did not feel anything, except for a slight surge of strength. But wolf meat of the 1st type still added 1 parameter to its Toughness.
Basically, no one got any effects from Type 0 meat, but Type 1 added 1 Toughness to everyone. Sam decided that tomorrow they will continue to eat the 1st type wolf and check if there will be any more effects, after all, this wolf was healthy, 2 meters without taking into account the tail.
Ashley did not feast with the others, Jane said that she needed to rest, Sam did not bother her either. Meat will be brought to her individually, for the sake of strength she will eat it sooner or later.
This time, Sam did not forget to put the remaining core from L1 on the sword before going to bed, he put the core from the wolf there as well.
When Sam woke up, he checked the Sword, the L1 core was digested to the end, but the wolf core remained almost unchanged, so stuffing the sword into a pile of cores is unlikely useful.

The Immortal
There was once a certain man who never died. When ancient trees withered, he flourished. When kingdoms, empires, and nations fell, he stood. When surrounded by immortals, he laughed. And when the world was gone, he remained. This is his tale. I take 0% credit for the title picture. I just pasted stuff together and did the best I could with a mac touchpad.

TAG DISCLAIMER: The tags 'Portal Fantasy / isekai', 'High Fantasy', and 'Non-Human Lead' do not take place until later on in the novel. Probably mid-way through the first volume. The 'villainous lead' tag is a very loose tag. Some of the things the mc does can be considered villainous to those with a staunch moral code, however, I have not made the mc out to be overtly villainous. True Title: Advent of the Silent Storm (I came up with the original title a while ago, before I had even written a single chapter. It still kind of fits but this new title fits a lot better. I would change it but I don't know if it would screw up the recommendation algorithm.) Excerpt: My mind wanders through the soup of unconsciousness, still startlingly awake despite my physical form’s stasis. Electricity completely paralyzes the air around me and lightning flashes in a constant strobe of blinding light. The ground, thousands of feet below my being has been wiped clean of all manmade artifice and natural beauty; leveled, through absolute power. My power. Synopsis: Tetal Faelen, a very successful businessman with lofty goals, is introduced to an omniscient being through less than pleasant means. This being has an irresistible offer for Tetal with next to no downside. Tetal can’t help but wonder, “What’s the catch?” Additional Notes: Second novel I have started within the Web of Interconnected Realities. My other novel is not posted on this site so don't bother looking for it. I might post it here in the future.

(I used a pencil for the first time since elementary school for that cover art, so I'm proud of it, as imperfect as it is.)
