《Those Zombies Again》Chapter 6

It was already evening, so after a little rest and supper, Sam decided to examine his find and go to bed. The sword was about a meter long, rather less, weighed in the region of 5 kg, although given his recently gained strength, this weight was just right for Sam.
It is noteworthy that the entire sword was a solid dark gray color, and also that Sam did not notice any attachment points around the hilt, or anywhere else, as if it were his natural shape.
He did not know what kind of steel it was, and he did not understand anything like that at all. The main thing is that there was not a scratch on the sword. Sam practiced before bed as much as he could.
The next day, Sam decided to continue his exploration, armed with a sword and a kind of shield. After tying the doors again, Sam opened them and began to make noise, to his delight the skeleton was not far away and came running pretty quickly.
Trying to get through, unlike a zombie, the skeleton immediately tried to open the door and he clearly had enough strength for this, but Sam immediately swung his sword at the skeleton's skull, he tried to hide behind his hand, but the sword managed to cut off his hand, though the momentum was only enough to slightly damage the skull.
After which the skeleton did break the rope and opened the doors, Sam covered himself with a shield from the skeleton's only hand and immediately after inflicted another blow on the head, this time the sword properly entered the skeleton's skull, slightly twitching the pale lights in the skeleton's eyes went out and he sank to the floor ...
To Sam's surprise, he immediately got a level, despite the fact that to level he had to kill more than 900 zombies.

Remaining near the door, Sam knocked out all the zombies that approached, as it turned out the difference between the ax and the sword was more than expected, the sword passed through the zombie's heads without much resistance, so that much effort was not needed. Well that ax was pretty crappy, so it was meaningless to compare those weapons in the first place.
Looking around his yard, he did not notice the zombies in the vicinity. There were residential buildings around him on all sides, except that there was a kindergarten opposite his house, a little to the right across the yard.
In fact, the size of the city was not that small, but it was quite isolated, besides, they said that there was an increased level of radiation or something like that, in general, the population was low, there were many empty apartments.
Even though Sam did not leave the house often, but when he went out he was only surprised how few people walk the streets, compared to the cities he visited before.
One of the options for action now was to clean up other entrances, but after thinking a little, Sam refused this, firstly, he only knew the number of his intercom, and secondly, even at his entrance, he bumped into other people a couple of times, but fortunately he successfully escorted them away, so as not to interfere.
In other entrances there may be more and bolder people. There is even a possibility that someone will set up an ambush at entrance, after all, his sword would be useful to everyone now, and surely someone would want to "borrow" it for the common good.
Sam decided to walk in the direction of the kindergarten. Having cleared a dozen zombies, on the way he noticed something in between a ghoul and a dog, the creature was devouring something with enthusiasm in kindergarten.

Sam carefully looked around, not seeing anyone else nearby, decided to approach the wall of one of the houses and made a small noise. Ghoul clearly heard him and looked around, growling he lunged at Sam with a fairly high speed.
Sam tensed and braced himself, holding the shield in front of him. The ghoul, without slowing down, jumped on him at maximum speed and hit the shield, fortunately the shield held out, although from the force of the blow Sam stepped back, losing his balance, but still managed to stay up, the ghoul obviously suffered more, falling to the ground he lost his orientation for a second.
Without hesitation, Sam rushed forward and struck, not having time to really get up, the ghoul was blown off his head. Sam received about 50 soul particles.
By this time, Sam was more and less accustomed to distinguishing this feeling and could roughly tell how many soul particles he received after the murder. Until the next level, there were still about 9,900 soul particles, so Sam was just hoping to meet new inhabitants of this planet, in addition to the usual zombies.
He was afraid, but at the same time his life seemed to have a meaning, so he also felt a little anticipation.
Due to his low endurance, he did not want to take risks, and without waiting until he got tired he went home, while he has a safe place, it is better to take regular rest breaks.
