I wonder if any of this my fault.

As far as I'm aware, picking up guys at the beach isn't a crime.

If their willing to have a fling at the beach and you aren't looking for anything long term, then asking too many personal questions isn't a good idea.

Maybe it was when he started talking about getting serious.

Actually, more than my ever increasing blood-pressure, I've grown to pity him even more. He's lived in this environment for roughly 5 years.

I can barely handle these first couple of months.
