《I reincarnated as an octopus - There has to be a mistake》Guppies, Guppies and more Guppies (part 2)

Ssshh, be quiet Ava said in a hushed tone. The children were hiding in the water apple grove. Some of their parents were currently checking on the plantation for either sea cucumber or sea slugs which destroyed the plant. Okay, the coast is clear, Titus said. He was the second eldest to Selena and had a spear with him, he always carried the spear with him. The other kids used to tease him by calling the spear his lover. It had been pretty funny in the beginning Selena thought. Come on Sel, Ava called her out by the nickname she gave her when they first met. Ava was really young around 5 I guess and could say her name so she just ended up calling her Sel ever since. Selena had taken her staff with her, she didn’t have any actual defense skills other than [Moon Orb] but it made her feel much safer.
I wonder when the elder will teach me the other skils? The old man was always smiling, sometimes he’d been smoking the Aqua Hemp he grew in his little garden. Whenever I asked him to teach me more he’d just crack his toothy grin and say come tomorrow, the sly fox would always weasel his way out of her questions. I once asked him about my skills and he said that my queries were as good as asking why the sun would rise and why the sea was blue. It frustrates me to no ends, he clearly enjoyed it since he’d call Ava to his place and she wouldn’t stop talking until she gave in to her demands to play with the rest of the kids. The old man would just laugh as I got dragged away by Ava. The worst part was the fact that he defends Ava every time. It became a race between the guards and Ava to the elder's place, once the chief had to come himself to pick up Ava and he had gotten scolded by the elder.
Where here! Ava shouted. The wall was slowly being overtaken by algae and the once-proud stone blocks have slowly been breaking apart due to the cold current of the great blue. Once Ava wanted to go there but no one was willing to go there no matter how much she tried to change their minds, in the end, she settled for a game of tag but Selena had to admit that she was pretty curious about the great blue like Ava. She wanted to ask Ava if she wanted to go there with her but she knew better than encourage Ava’s reckless behavior. Come one last one to the coral reef is a chicken, Ava said in a giggly voice. Before she knew it Selena was the only one who was left behind. Dammit, why do they have to swim so fast why can’t we just stick together, Selena mumbled to herself.
She could her Ava giggle in front of all of them. She was fast for someone so small, I wonder where she gets all that energy from….
The kelp started to increase in number and the wall started to fade behind them. We’re actually doing this. I thought an adult would have caught us by now. Selena was taller than them by quite a lot, she started to swim faster and caught up to Ava. Ava, I think we should slow down now, we’ve already far away from the village. What? Slow down. Pssh, your just scared that you are going to end up last, Ava smiled cockily. How about this, if you reach that Kelp stalks there first, we’ll slow down. What if I don’t? Selena asked knowing full well what she was going to ask. Well then, your gonna have to do my chores for a week, Ava smiled. Selena thought about it for a bit, she knew that Ava wouldn’t have her do the chores at all, she was going to make Selena play with her instead. Fine, I accept. Okay then, Ava said, when I say go we start okay. Sure I said. 3, 2, 1, GO, Ava shouted. She quickly started to swim towards the massive kelp stalk. I started to move my tail as fast as I could. Once I underestimated her speed and I ended up sneaking her snacks from the shed for an entire month, she said she would convince the elder to teach me more magic. I thought it would be an easy win, boy was I wrong. Ava had gotten the head start but I was slowly catching up to her. Soon I was slightly ahead of Ava and the distance started to widen. I touched the stalk and right behind me, Ava slammed into me.

That was fun she exclaimed out loud, let’s do it again. I slowly rosed up from the ground, No, also I won the bet. Yeah, yeah, fine I guess we’ll go slow. Maybe I’ll grow tall from how slow we’re going to take to reach the coral reef, Ava said in a mocking tone. I just looked at her as she smiled. The others eventually reached us within 3 minutes but poor Kaia took 15 minutes before she reached us and look like she couldn’t breathe. [Rest] I cast the spell on her, the spell didn’t help with wounds but it restored a bit of your stamina. Thanks, she said. I knew we should have gone slower. After a minute's rest, we set off to the coral reef. We’re practically there Ava said. By practically she means halfway there. Ava was humming to herself while we were swimming until Kaia stopped. What’s wrong Titus asked her. G- G- G-, she continued repeating. Ooh, are we playing. Let me guess? Gas? No, Game? Gills? Wait, wait I know guppy, Right? Guys, we have visitors, Silas said nervously. What? I turned around and I see a group of guppies. Cool can we keep them as pets, Ava asked innocently. G-Get behind me Ava, I swim up to the front and face of the group of fish. I could probably only deal with one guppy but an entire school. How do I get out of this…. I start to panic, calm down Selena if you start panicking there really isn’t anything we can do. A guppy breaks out of the formation. [Moon Orb] I quickly cast the spell and a flash of white light appears.
[You have dealt 1 damage]
I can help you, Selena, Ava shouts out to me. She holds a stick in her hand and tries to move forward. Someone grab her don’t let go of her. Titus grabs on to her as Ava tries to wrestle her way out. Okay, you just have to buy some time and get someone to get the adults. Before I’m able to say anything to them Ava quickly yells, I’ll deal with the octopus while you deal with the guppy. Wait, Ava, what do you mean, I turn around to make sure Ava hasn’t gotten herself into trouble, and right above Ava, a massive octopus is watching us. The octopus charges towards us, I get ready to cast another [Moon Orb] but then a cloud of ink comes from the octopus and I can’t see. Dammit, I can’t see anything, I try swatting the ink away but with no success. The cloud of ink slowly dissipates and then I sport two guppies knockdown on the ground. What the? The octopus charges at the guppies and from nowhere a shark pup charges and pins down the guppy. Are they fighting each other? Ava, I shout out, go get the adults now. No way, the octopus is fighting the guppy, and there no way I’m missing the fight, Ava shouts in protest. Not now Ava, your the fastest one other than me. I don’t wanna go, Diana and Cecilia can go instead, she’s the fastest one other than us, Ava shouts in protest. W-What Diana says in surprise. Fine, Diana and Cecilia get to the adults quickly and call for help. Diana says nothing for a while but finally nods and swims off. I focus on the battle between the octopus and the guppies once more, a guppy is struck down and sink to the ground, okay that now leaves them with five more. The octopus doesn’t seem very hurt but on the shark, pups fin there are some bite marks.

The octopus strikes and kills another guppy. They actually might win… two guppies immediately charge at the octopus and bite at the face. I get my staff ready in case something goes amiss, and continue looking at the fight. I hear a scream, I quickly turn my back and I find Ava being attacked by a guppy. Where did that one come from? Wait did it run away? Dammit Ava why can’t you just stay out of trouble. Ava seems to be fighting the guppy with a stick. Where the hell is Titus, I look over to my side and I see the blond boy watching the fight as he trembles, Titus, I shout out, he immediately turns towards me and notices that Ava was being attacked. He pulls out his spear to engage the guppy but it’s too late. Ava got a bite on her shoulder, I quickly get ready to cast another spell to ward of the guppy. The guppy notices me and flees, but it doesn’t matter, I look down and I see Ava in a bloody mess. Her shoulder has been bitten into and it looks like the guppy attempt to tear it apart. [Heal] [Heal] [Heal]
I desperately use Heal in an attempt to seal the wound. My heal spell is currently only lvl 4, I’ve tried to raise it but it hasn’t raised up in awhile. I knew we shouldn’t have gone out, why couldn’t I convince her. Tears start to well up in my eyes, S-Selena a weak voice called out. Ava is that you, heh, are you seriously crying, Ava says with a weak smile. I start laughing and wipe the tears away, thank goodness you're alive. Come on, we have to get out of here. I lift her up and help support her. Wait, why are they attacking Mr. octopus, he was helping us, Ava says to me. I turn around and I see Cicilia, Diana, Ava’s dad, and the guards shooting their Spears towards the octopus. Come on slowpoke, we have to tell my dad what happened. Wait up, your going to hurt yourself I frantically tell Ava as she tries to dart off to the village chief. We were going to end up having to clean the algae manatees because of this, aren’t we….
The spearmen haven’t stopped glaring into my soul and it’s getting really weird. The moment I move I swear I can see them twitch, aching to shoot me. The leader sent one of the guards to get someone from what I can see. Leo didn’t seem to care at all and went toward the closest guppy and started to eat. I’m kinda hungry so I slowly move towards a guppy. The spearmen still haven’t stopped looking at me, don’t they know it’s rude to stare at someone when they eat. I munch away at the guppy, still bitter as always. Might as well look at my status right now.

Does intelligence affect my mana amount or is it the level ups that affect it? My mana amount has increased steadily but I’m not sure whether it’s because of my level or my intelligence that is affecting my mana amount. Also damn, 5 more levels, and I will reach my max level and I can evolve again. While I was looking at my skills I finished the guppy I was eating and I move on to the next one. Leo seems full and has decided to rest near me. You deserve this little buddy I tell the shark pup. I start eating the slightly dissolved guppy and it’s taste sour and bitter. Talk about shitty food. There wasn’t much of the guppy left since its entire face was more or less melted away. Yesh, talk about painful. I’m about to start eating my third guppy when I realize, if those fish people accept me, maybe they can give me good food.
My mouth starts to water when I think about tasty food… like… I haven’t eaten anything tasty except those egg sacs but those don’t count since they were…. yeah, let’s not dwell in the past too long. I hope the fish people are nice. Wait, fish people, is it racist to call them fish people? What do I call them? I feel like calling them fish people would be highly offensive. While I was arguing on the correctness of calling someone fish people a voice rings in my head.
(No, it’s not really that offensive but some people tend to find that pretty rude you know)

He scoffed.Out of nowhere he threw me against the wall and I gasped as his arm pressed by my sides and he trapped me."ALSO, DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME YOUR MATE AGAIN!" he growled, I breathed heavily as fear started crawling in. Tears flowed down my face. I struggled to breathe. "I NEVER wanted a mate. Especially not like you." He gave me a glare as if the mere sight of me disgusted him. "Who would want a mate like you anyways, huh? You're ugly, nerdy, clingy, way-too-innocent and being with you will DESTROY my social reputation."Listening to those words shattered my Wolf and she howled in pain.I gasped, trying to get some air but he pressed me against the wall harder. "Look at you," he chuckled, "So pathetic. You're not even able to defend yourself. Moon goddess made a mistake mating you with me. I will correct it .""I won't reject you," he said, "oh no no. I will break you to the limit where you won't ever be able to come back. And then, I will leave you to rot.""One last thing. Don't you DARE tell anyone that we are mates. Are we clear?"I nodded frantically, my heart clenching till where it was unbearable. He let out a dark chuckle and released me,"Good girl."I collapsed on the floor and almost passed out from the lack of air in my lungs. He just walked away & left me there to rot.

# The Gemstone of Ominium 2 - Pain
Her unfazed expression didn’t even waver when the blade of her thin sword pierced one of the men all the way through armor, flesh and bone, a gurgling sound bubbling from his throat. With a kick she mercilessly pushed him back, freeing her blade, and glanced down at his dead body sprawled at her feet, confirming that death had indeed taken him. Stepping over the dead man’s body as if it were a mere pebble on her path, she raised her head just in time to see her second attacker lunge at her and, nimbly turning on her heels, she slit his throat. A spray of hot, sticky blood hit her left cheek and slid down her neck, but she didn’t even blink. The scent of the fresh blood filled her nostrils and her brain like an inebriating drug and she stepped forward once again, lightly turning to one side to avoid being decapitated and quickly returning the favor. One by one the men kept falling as she advanced, victims of her lethal, almost mechanical movements, as if she’d been born with a sword in hand and ready to kill …* This is a direct continuation of Book 1 - Denial. You CANNOT start reading Book 2 without reading Book 1, since the story won't make any sense! Enjoy ^_^*
