《I reincarnated as an octopus - There has to be a mistake》Level up

Huff… Huff… Huff…
I did it…
Hah, take that you stupid fish, taste the superiority of my tentacles. I look down at my side and see 3 tentacles ripped off. Damn, just one bite, and I’ve lost half of my health.
After some time the adrenaline in my body dies down and the pain starts to kick in.
Fucking hell that hurts.
I use my tentacles and start dragging the body of the fish underneath a massive coral, the fish was nearly as big as me and took some time to drag.
[Pain Resistance lvl 1 has leveled up]
Nice. I start to bite into the fish and start eating chunks of it in a matter of moments before I was even able to tell how it tasted. Wow, even after that I still feel a bit hungry. It was a bit sour but I can’t complain. Beggars can’t be choosers. After finishing I check my status.

Damn my Endurance has really leveled up, I also acquired a bunch of resistance skills and leveled up a good lot of everything in my stats.
I’m now down to 2 hp…
I should find my way back to my cave, but I can’t help but feel the need to explore my new surroundings. If I stay low I can survey the land and know where to go and where not to, yeah. Plus if I do get in a fight I can lose them in the coral. Truth be told I really didn’t know if I could but I was trying to get as many excuses for me to explore.
Well, all in favor of exploring, I raise my 5 tentacles and whatever remained of my other 3. All against the idea of exploring… Then it’s settled, we’re gonna explore. I swim into the corals and keep a low profile making sure that I’m not being watched by anyone and stopping to scan the area once in a while. Soon I reach a large open clearing. As I pass by the last of the massive coral trees I see fishes of all kinds of color, shapes, and sizes. I use inspect immediately as I’m entranced by all the colors.

[Parrot Fish] [Guppy] [Reaver Shark] [Rainbow Fish] [Limestone Slug].....
[Inspect lvl 2 has leveled up.
The sheer amounts of notification I get from inspecting the clearing give me a sharp pain in the head as if my head was being slammed by a rock. Okay… too much of Inspect equals headache, nice to know. Ah, at least inspect levels have increased. After I’m done looking at the scene I wonder why the hell this place hasn’t turned into an orgy fight fest. I start trying to come up with several theory as to why every animal isn’t going at one another’s neck but not a single one presents a good answer. Ah, forget that for now let’s just look around I’m not in the mood to get another headache.
While I was swimming near the edges of the clearing which bordered the Coral forest I stumble across a weird slug-like creature. It’s as big as two of my tentacles put together but it seems to be moving around the seafloor aimlessly. I back up a bit in caution and use inspect.
Species: Sea Cucumber
LvL: 1/2
HP: 3/3
Rank: O-
Status: Blind(permanent)
Woah, this thing, or should I say sea slug is even weaker than me. Also, bind? And it’s permanent, is this thing really blind? I immediately poke the slug half expecting it to spray me with acid instead it simply tries to move away from my tentacle. After everything I’ve been through, giant ass crabs, monstrous fish, and that fast ass eel I was expecting something with a bit more… threatening I guess? Well, I’m still hungry and I’m not passing up a free meal. I bite into the head of the slug which could either be it butt or the head cause it looks the same to me.
[You have dealt 2 damage]
[You have killed a Sea Cucumber]
[you have received 3 exp]
Thanks for the meal. I quickly bite off a bite and just as I’m about to swallow it and I’m met with the most bitter taste in my mouth. Wut thhe.
[You have been poisoned]
WUT!
I have been bamboozled, hoodwinked, led astray, run amuck, and flat out deceived! Pah, pah, pah, I spit out everything from my beak. Of course, this shit had to poison me. I started cursing my shitty luck and myself for eating the random slug. Idiot, you just had to eat the weird-looking slug, didn’t you. I immediately check my status and see I haven’t lost any hp yet and my status reads as poisoned(Tiny). Thank God this wasn’t some kind of instant death poison or even a strong one, but even if it is tiny at my condition I might just die. I can’t imagine how stupid it would be if I had to die to a rank O- monster. Here lies the first idiot to die to a Sea Cucumber.

It’s been two hours and nothing has really changed but my stomach doesn’t feel good. While I was trying to find a way to get rid of the poison, I got the poison resistance skill which I think is stopping the poison from doing anything to severe but I’m not really sure considering that the poison was just tiny. Eventually, I give up on trying to find anything that might be able to help and that’s when I notice the water has got a slight red coloration. I scan the are but I can’t seem to see why the water turned slightly red until I see a large grey ball.
What the? I immediately use inspect in the ball.

AGGHHHh! My head feels likes it’s about to split in two. Of course, I forgot that using inspect on too many things hurts your head.
[Mental Resistance lvl 1 has leveled up]
Before I’m able to register the notification the swarm of fish immediately swims over to a slow-moving turtle. The turtle looks like it’s about a third of Mother’s size which is still very massive. The swarm soon surrounds it and then in a matter of seconds the water starts to turn red and the swarm starts to move again leaving nothing but an empty large shell. Holy shit, they just killed that turtle like it was made out of paper mache. What’s paper mache? Leave it no time to think, I think I’ll just head out now,
As soon as I’m about to leave the swarm immediately turns they’re eye on me.
Well fuck.
I start swimming as fast as my tentacles can carry me. Maybe I can lose them in the coral I think optimistically. Soon I hear chatter of teeth’s and right behind my tail I see several fishes. I just had to jinx my self didn’t I… The Guppy was the hardest thing I ever fought and it was only rank O+, these basterds are F, hell no I ain’t fighting them. I hope that the corals will slow them down while I make a run for my cave, I look behind again and I see one Blade Sardine right behind me, so I politely shoot a ball of acid in its face.

They don’t have much health do they I think to myself as I continue swimming with a rejuvenating burst of speed from my level-ups. Then again they shred that turtle in seconds so I guess they have high attack power to cover up for their sliver of health. Another one attempts to get close but I wack it away with my tentacles as hard as I can.
[You have dealt 1 damage]
I don’t want to use my acid shots too much since I’ve only got around 2 more shots. I look behind again and it looks like some have stopped chasing me to eat their fallen comrade who is still alive. Good lord these things are fucked up. Eating monsters in a blink of an eye and eating your own friends the moment they get hurt.
[You have received 6 exp]
Wait, I also get exp for contributing. That’s nice. All I have to do is keep hitting and knocking them out and their own friends will turn on them and I will get exp from it. Nice. I take a hard turn to the right as one of the sardines are about to take a bite out of me. Good Lord, these guys won’t quit, will they? The sardines answers my doubt by attempting another lunge at me. I swiftly dodge it and give them a hard wack to the face.
[You have dealt 1 damage]
Ha, take that you shitty fish.
[You have received 7 exp]
[You leveled up]
[1 Vitality and Agility point has been awarded]
I soon spot the entrance to my small cave as we are about to leave the Coral forest. I shoot off 3 acid shoots in random directions to slow down the swarm to give me enough time to quickly fit through the tiny entrance. One of the closer ones gets hit and dies while the other miss. One of the actual hit a really far away Blade Sardine right in the face but it doesn’t die.
[You have dealt 2 damage]
[You have killed a Blade Sardine]
[You have received 6 exp]
[You have maxed out your level]
[1 Strength, Defence and Intelligence point has been awarded]
[You have dealt 1 damage]
Parts of the swarm break apart to eat away at their comrades before chasing after me but it bought me enough time to escape and swim into my little cave.

The Wolf Saga, Wolf that Devours Empires
The Empire of Human is about to enter a turbulent era. A World Power has fallen. But mere hours after dying, he is reborn as a half-human, half-elf boy named Wolf. The story follows this odd boy as he grows up, his relationship with his father and those around him, his lack of common sense from being raised in the wilderness, and his desire for revenge. Witness Wolf's journey as he aspires to climb to the peak of the world to unravel its mysteries, and as he tries to figure out why it’s wrong to decapitate a street thug when the man tries to mug you. “I mean, the man literally said ‘Money or life,’ so what’s the big deal?” Releases Mon/Wen/Fri. (GMT-ish) Trigger warning. The Wolf Saga may not be suited for you if any of the following disturbs you: - The story will have fighting and killing. The gore will not be explicit, but there will be descriptions such as "head burst like a melon", "instantly turned to cinders", "blood splashed/fountained" etc. Most of the violence will be performed by the protagonist, some of it before he reaches his teens. If such scenes bother you, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have sexual content. It's there for a reason. Once again, these scenes will not be explicit. Genitals will be mentioned sometimes, but never described in detail. Nude bodies will be described in passing, without too many specific details. If you're afraid of nipples, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have a decent amount of cursing. If you haven't given up by now, this is unlikely to bother you. Still, I believe I should forewarn you that a number of curse words will be making appearance from time to time. - The story will have no small amount of loss for the main character. If you enjoy novels in which everything is fine, the protagonist makes it at the last moment and saves the day... This is not such a story. Life happens. As a reader, I'm annoyed with heroes making it in the nick of time, so for the sake of fairness I used dice on a number of occasions, making do with the result. Sometimes it was anticlimactic, sometimes it was tragic and it led to the story you see before you. Dedication: This story is written for Tired Mom and Wolf, whose arrival the rest of the pack is eagerly awaiting. Thanks: I would like to thank Tired Mom for her proofreading and encouragement over the years. I would like to thank you, Dear Reader, for taking the time to read this big pile of words.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)
