《Devil's daughter》Chapter 15 first summonings

Flora still wants revenge.

Flora was surprised to see the blond hair half elf again before her. She wanted to launch herself at Demenia. Reina grabbed Flora’s collar of her dress before her half-sister could assault her.

“Why do you stop me Reina,” Flora asked. “No the other two won’t be able to fight back against Demenia nor her royal mage,” Clare reasoned. Flora sighed as she stared back down at the mages below with Demenia. Demenia was dressed neatly in a fancy dress that not even the commoners could afford.

Instead Flora stared back in disgust as she looks back at the back of the dowager. "Let's be reasonable here Flora. Neither Jena or Kelly are on the same level as that half elf down there nor are they fit to fight such a experienced mage," Clare stated. "How am I supposed to stay calm when that person is here," Flora asks.

"I won't let her go this time," Flora said. "The summoning circle has been completed," reported mage a and b. "Congrats on meeting the deadline," Demenia said.

Reina hit Flora on the head as she tried once again to bolt from her spot. "How can I not," Flora whispered. "Do not be rash," Clare said.

Light emitted from the summoning circle filling up the whole room. Before them were 256 high school students. Clare’s eyes widen when she saw the dark pink haired girl in a black sailor uniform. “Elena’s sister’s reincarnation. Why is she here,” Clare said. “Wait you mean the mage that is known as the Witch of magic beginnings has a sister,” Reina asked.

“Which one is she Clare,” Flora asked. “Short pink hair with perfectly tanned skin,” Clare answered. ‘That looks nothing like Elena,’ Flora thought. “Welcome heroes to our Kingdom Leria. This world isn’t your world Earth but rather our world Riana. We have called you here to fight off the demon lord’s threat to our kingdom,” Demenia said.

“Ugh she’s at it with her speech,” Flora groaned. “Oh it can’t be all that bad,” Clare said unsure. “You didn’t sound confident there Aunty,” Jena said. “Tell us why you kidnapped us during school lessons,” asked the red haired high school boy. “As I was saying I meant no harm in bringing you here. We’re just having a crisis with the demon lord. So we have called upon you heroes as the goddess Beleria of creation said.”

“If I remember correctly she’s also the goddess of destruction for us elves,” Jena corrected in a whisper. “As if they’d tell that to the humans they summoned,” Kelly sighed.

“Tell me why is that you really called us here,” the pinked haired girl asked. Demenia’s eyes widen at the girl. She was telling them the truth but only half of it. So how’d this girl detect that she was partially lying. “Young girl how dare you talk back to the dowager,” mage A said.

“That’d my sister Helen you’re talking to. Also she maybe blind but she has a sharp perception. I’m Rem,” shouted the black haired little girl. (Her height makes her look like 12 or 10 but she’s also a high school student.) “No need for you to defend me Rem,” Helen said. “It’s not like they can understand even if you tell them. I bet those guards don’t care about anything but their own lives.”

‘Ouch she’s sharp with her words,’ Jena thought. “As I was saying we need to know which of you 256 people are blessed by the goddess first. So we’ll do a test with the crystal ball. If it shines and you are blessed by the goddess it’ll show on your status. To look at your status just think the words in your mind,” she said as if no one interrupted her. “Wow she ignored her so quickly after she heard blind girl,” Flora teased. Reina hit her sister on the head to quiet her but not hard enough so that she’d scream their position away.

“Can I go first Helen,” asked her best friend. Her best friend had brown hair twin tails. She wasn’t in uniform like the rest but in her causal clothes from home. “Go ahead Tessa,” Helen said. “So Elena’s sister is reborn as Helen,” Clare said staring at her titles. Tessa walked in front of the crystal ball and stretched her hand out as she cracked her knuckles. “This’ll be a breeze,” she joked. As she touched the crystal ball it didn’t light up but rather the room seemed colder than before even thought there was 267 people in the room. (including the 10 mages, and dowager)

Demenia was surprised that the girl’s status showed up instead.

Tess smiled in a satisfied look as she walked away because the blessings of the goddess wasn’t shown. “They are as outrageous as you Clare,” Flora said. “Am I,” Clare asked. Both the twins nodded at Flora. Clare shrugged at Flora instead. Rem pulled back her straight hair unease as Demenia whispered for the guards to kick Tess out of the castle. Nervously Rem stepped up to the crystal ball which lit up the crystal. Rem looked disappointed since she didn’t want to be picked.

“That’s not really what I wanted though,” Rem said. Helen smiled at her sister but it was a sad understanding smile. Clare was surprised when Helen turned her head toward them but she only nodded in silence. “Wait did she spot us up here even amongst all that chattering,” Kelly asked. “Since she can’t see most of her other senses are sharper but I’m surprised she picked up on us eavesdropping,” Clare said.

Rem touched the crystal ball without a sign of nervousness. She seemed unfazed as the crystal ball broke apart and the pieces lit up the whole room. Sending a flare to Elena in her castle. Elena’s lips curled into a smile. “So she’s finally back,” Elena said.

Demenia shouted to her men to get both Tess and Helen out of the castle as soon as possible. “Wait a minute,” Tess shouted as they carried her like a rag doll. Helen just followed silently but glanced back every so often. She made sure that they were being followed. “You sure it’s alright for me to use my shadow ability like this,” Kelly asked. “It’s fine. It’s not like the guards are going to notice us,” Clare said.

“Why didn’t you just make them do this earlier so we could’ve escaped,” Flora said. “So that we wouldn’t hear what Demenia was saying during her speech,” Reina countered. “Never mind,” Flora said.

“How was I supposed to know what you two were thinking,” Flora pouted. Kelly and Clare shrugged.

The guards pushed the two girls out of the city gates. Clare they all came out of the shadow and hid. “You can come out now they’re gone,” Helen said.
