《Devil's daughter》chapter 2 bloodied coronation day

Clare turned back to normal, her devil form vanished as if nothing happened. Her mother sighed in relief, but stared at the dead human corpse as Clare let out a scream. The human girl that had attacked her had a hole in her stomach and her gut was falling out all over. As if not to throw up she held her hand to her mouth. Both her silver eyes went to her mother as her rosy lips trembled. "Daughter, I'm going to go out to look at the situation," her mother tried to sooth her. She held on to her mother and shook her head as she heard screams down the hallway to her left, downstairs. "We'll have to part eventually, I can't always be there for you. I know this is the worst birthday yet for you, but remember your lineage and learn how to control your blood." With those words her mother stole a kiss on her forehead and left. Clare wanted to follow her mother but her body moved against her will to the opposite side of the building. Her feet led her to the throne room. She was on the balcony third floor over looking the room.
Now that she calmed down a bit she noticed guts, blood, and body parts were scattered all over the place. Down bellow her she noticed the crest of the human soldiers, a lion eating a sword. Heabas, one of the human country they were fighting against. Her eyes went to her father, his black hair in mess his rough face had scratches, he seemed to be wounded badly in the shoulder. His blue armor badly dented and cut through, his giant sabre and he is deflected back. As she surveyed the room once more she noticed the beautiful diamond window was stained, the chandelier was destroyed, and her father's white marble was now ruin beyond repair. A glint of a sword caught her attention, it was a man with brown hair carrying a bastard sword that gave off a holy aura. She knew that he was the hero that Heabas summoned to deal with her father.
Before she could say anything her father noticed her. "Clare, get Camellia your mother and run as far as you can from here." Her eyebrows scrunched up into a scowl. "OH now you remember you have a daughter. I don't want the throne and you haven't once acted like a father. For my 14 years of my life you didn't care even if I existed in the castle. Mother was the only one that listened to my words. I'd rather travel than be held down by the throne." The soldiers blinked as they look at her in disbelief. This beautiful pale, purple haired girl can't be related to that rough looking devil.

"Clare was it, she looks nothing like a demon or a devil. Are you sure she's really your daughter," the hero mocked. Her father coughed blood but Clare stood by the 3rd floor stairs emotionless as her father was seriously injured. The mage in the hero's group seemed annoyed as she pointed her staff at Clare. "Don't be fooled by her appearance and performance of her act," the mage yelled. 'No really I just confused my honest feelings and you say I'm acting. I mean I know your humans invading our castle but that's offensive to the person confessing her feelings to her father's denial of her dreams,' Clare thought. She rolled her eyes when the mage said that. "And look what we have here," her uncle's voice resounded in the throne room.
She had a bad feeling about this so she stepped back from the stairs. Her eyes widen as half the stairs leading up to the 2nd floor was now gone. Also a few of the human soldiers were crushed. Clare squinted her eyes until she saw her uncle. Glen, her uncle was the sworn brother of her father. He was also the general of their eastern kingdom, her father's right man, and his childhood friend. But now all she felt from seeing him here made her shiver. In fact Clare wasn't as surprised to see her uncle stab her father. "So he finally had the guts to do so during this time of invasion," Clare said. For once she felt a emotion when seeing this but she knew it wasn't sadness.
Her face showed confusion as she tried to sort what she was feeling since it was a first time for her. Usually she had to fake her emotions so she wouldn't be used by others. "Clare, get out of here," her father yelled. His red eyes bore into her but Clare didn't move from the balcony of the 3rd floor. The feelings she was feeling was relief, assured, and happiness. Though it was a first time for her to be feeling emotions. Usually she was like a emotionless doll because of balls, parties and meetings. Her head tilted as she was more confused, this was a first time for her to feel this. "Princess Clare, get out of here before they can get you too," Glen called out. Uncle Glen was a Minotour, with a long sword as his weapon.

"Go to your mother now," he called out gently. Clare nodded and ran off back the way she came. "Why does she listen to you Glen," her father asked. "Because she trusts me and her mother more than she trusts you," Glen answered. His tone of voice serious as his former friend bled on the ground. "Woah time out, aren't you supposed to be like friends so why are you having a fall out here," the hero asked. The hero was a handsome brown haired foreign. "His daughter never wanted anything to do with him I'm returning a favor for her kindness when she younger and she helped me," Glen honestly stated. He vanished without a trace just as the hero's mage told the soldiers kill him. "Now, I'm confused," said the hero. "David there's no need to be concerned for these demons. I bet she's a succubus, you could've killed that mixed blood bitch too," said the mage with disdain. "No she said she didn't wish for the throne," David, the hero said.
David was dead serious so the mage sighed as she was trying to do her job. Clare slid to a stop at the stairs below her room surprised to see not just humans dead but also her maids and servants that she knew since her childhood. She collapsed at the bottom of the stairs as she saw her wet nurse cleanly cut in half. Her lower half missing as the wet nurse tried to get to her room to warn her but died by the stairs instead. Tears fell from her cheek as she felt immense sadness. Clare let out a scream of anger, for being useless to protect those that cared about her.
"Clare, I'm glad your still fine," Camellia said. She turned her head to her mother. Camellia was covered in blood all over, her silk black gown now looked sinister in the sun light. Her purple hair seemed to be a mess. Instead Clare ran to her mother's embrace crying. "How was your father," Camellia asked. "He lost against the hero and the soldiers, but Uncle Glen killed him."
"Is that so so he died by Glen," Camellia repeated. She blinked at her mother as she held her in a embrace. "Your father and I had arranged marriage so it's not really as if I loved him," Camellia stated truthfully. "Wait mother I thought you and father got together because you loved each other," Clare asked. "No it was one-sided. It was your father that liked me. I never let him touch me after you were born anyway. Guess you can call that, me rebelling against this marriage thing. I was a count's daughter in the vampire family before this. Anyway so Glen finally made his move." Clare showed a complex face as her mother acted like she didn't care one bit about her father. Was all the talk about her father with her all just a lie all along. "It never was at the same time like you I didn't like your father as much," Camellia said.
Clare noticed her mother's hand was dripping with blood but it wasn't her own. Her head turned to her mother. "Oh this I kinda cleaned up the mess made by your father. Now let's go to the passage way to escape from this madness," Camellia told her. Her daughter nodded to her as she held her hand. They quietly disappeared into the shadows of the castle. Within the castle there was panic everywhere. Demons waiting for the coronation were fighting off the soldiers. The general Glen had disappeared from the front lines which caused a wide spread of panic for the ones protecting the castle.
