Chapter 11- The Two Monsters
"Weeeeeell guys. Now that you are done with your little fight, are you ready to entertain me a lil bit?" Said Oscar with a smug grin.
Those words were like ice sticks stabbing the spines of Demiurgos and Oz. They didn`t expect that just after finishing the ordeal of defeating Ren Fangsfall, they would encounter an even greater monster. But, Oz and Demiurgos were not amateurs, they quickly took fighting stances. Demiurgos positioned himself in front of Oz with his shield blocking towards Oscar`s direction and Oz was behind with his dagger and handgun pointing to the same target.
As if heaven itself was aware of the upcoming battle, the weather of the pocket-dimension changed. Wind started to blow with more force, dragging broken branches and leaves on its way, forming small whirlpools in the surrounding area. Rain started pouring as well, wetting the trees, rocks and the three combatants. The sound of the rain and the wind combined into a fiery sonata for the battle between the two parties.
Oz could feel the cool feeling of the rain entering his clothes and every pore of his body. Making his mind clearer, he no longer hesitated, he couldn`t afford to lose this battle and the opponent in front of him was not one he could face while holding back. The atmosphere around him changed. The previous nervousness and hesitation could no longer be seen. His body emanated an oppresive aura like Oscar Hkrotz. But his aura was a little bit diferent. If Oscar`s aura was that of a proud lion king inspiring fear and respect in his opponents, like a fiery predator. Then Oz`s aura was that of a snake, sly and deadly, like it would jump and end one`s life the very moment one showed a small opening or moment of carelessness.
"Hooo...This might be interesting" Said Oscar while taking a fighting stance after sensing the change on Oz.
"Demiurgos you should find a safe place. Leave this to me, I will be ok."
"...Sure...be careful, partner." Demiurgos was still a little bit nervous, but he sensed that he would only be a hindrance to Oz if he stayed. "I never thought that you would be this powerful, good luck." Finished Demiurgos with a encouraging smile before retreating.
Oz bid farewell to his partner with a quick glance and focused again on his opponent. Oscar had a smile on his face. He never thought that he would come across a worthy opponent in the school entry tests.
The roaring sound of thunder could be heard from the dark clouds covering the sky. Strands of thin lightning were coming down from the sky. Sometimes fusing together with the rain, drawing complex circuits of lightning in the sky, illuminating the battlefield. The imposing sound of millions of volts were added to the sonata of rain and wind, resulting in the perfect scenario for the battle of the two experts.

Suddenly, three enormous fire serpents rose from the red-haired`s location, signaling the beggining of the battle. The three fire serpents, ignoring the constant rain, shot towards the black-haired youth. Coiling like a spiral around him. Oz received the attack with a swift swing of his dagger, which was shining with a light blue-silvery aura. The swing was executed with a strange technique. All the surrounding rain was sucked in the attack and made a wave of water.
The three fire serpents collided with the wave of water, producing a huge column of steam, which expanded slowly around the place. The students candidates scattered around the map could probably see clearly the rising steam and hear the tremendous sound produced by the sudden colision of water and fire.
The two combatants travelled through the steam with astonishing speed. Both of them emanating a silvery aura and a bloody-red aura, respectively. Oz was wielding a short pitch-black dagger and a white handgun, while Oscar wielded a long katana with almost 2 m of leghth, with a red handle and dark metallic edge.
The katana and the dagger met with a delicate impact. The two youths retreated a little bit and charged again. Oscar attacked with a descending cut using his katana at the same time he casted a dozen of small fireballs on his opponent. Oz deflected the katana with a motion with his dagger at the same time he tried a upper kick to his opponents head, who dodged the incoming kick with a sidestep.
Following that, Oz retreated with a back flip with the support of his left hand at the same time he shot down the fireballs with the handgun on his right hand.
Both of the experts had surprised looks on their faces, but then, with a smile they charged again and again. Ignoring everything else, just focusing in defeating their opponent.
Oz tried making again a wave of water with a swing of his dagger, this time in a lower scale. Oscar cutted through the wave with a katana covered by flames at the same time he tried to dodge the multiple incoming bullets. But to Oscar`s surprise, this time the bullets didn`t follow their set course. They curved in mid air following him. A few of those penetrated into his right arm.
After that, due to the multiple bullets that were following strange patterns behind him, Oscar was forced to a defensive battle. Over the course of only five minutes, Oscar got another five bullet holes on his body. Two in his left leg and three near his stomach. The fighting scenario was not fitted for him. After all, the heavy rain decreased the power of his fire magic and the bullet technique of his opponent broke the stalamate they were in.
Oscar tried to defend from the bullets with a fire shield surrounding him, but it was useless. The penetrative power of the bullets was just too strong, his opponent was probably a really powerful expert. After all the techniques he used were not something easy to learn.
The silvery-eyed man chased after his opponent. Dagger and katana met multiple times, with enough force to produce shockwaves that shook the surrounding puddles. Then the red-haired with a grin, despite his sorry state charged instead of retreating again. Two bright-red blood torrents started circling around him.

Oz retreated quickly, just before two massive hands formed of blood made the ground he was just standing before sink a dozen meters. His face paled a little bit. This was probably the legendary technique developed by Arisha Hkrotz, Blood Control!
"Feel honoured, not a lot of people can witness this technique and survive to tell it." Said Oscar with a solemn expression. His wounds started regenarating as the torrents of blood passed near those.
Suddenly the two torrents of blood expanded over a hundred meters, transforming into two thin strings of blood. Those strings had an inhuman speed. Oz only saw two red blurs before he felt an impact and was send flying over a dozen meters. The two strings kept hitting him in mid air, cutting the surrounding trees in countless pieces. Oz`s protective layer of illeidos was debilitating and some deep cuts could be seen on his body.
Oz tried to deflect the strings with his dagger and handgun, but they were just too fast. He could not keep going like that, sooner or later his reaction speed would drop due to tiredness and the accumulated damage on his body.
(Damn, I promised to not use it, but I don`t have choice, at this rate I will lose and fail the entrance test.)
"As expected from the protégée of the 'Red Queen' you are really a powerful foe." Praised Oz. "And that`s why I don`t have choice but to answer accordingly!"
In a instant Oz speed increased tenfold and six bolts of lightning formed around him, deflecting the blood strings. He charged towards Oscar with his new speed.
(What!!?? is he also a magician? Not only that, this pressure and power...He definitely can`t be lower than a gold ranked expert.)
"Damn!! Well...you wanted it, Blood-fire Serpent King!" Shouted Oscar at the same time the strings of blood transformed into a big fire-blood serpent with a lenght of over 30 meters. The ground around the Serpent King trembled and enormous boulders were sent flying everywhere. This was the most powerful attack that Oscar was able to use, a platinum ranked spell variation.
Even when he was facing such a poweful spell, Oz didn`t give up. As the serpent king got near Oz, he took advantage of the weather and made tens of thick thunder descend towards the serpent king. He infused some of his own illeidos with the natural thunder and casted a rain of thunder on the serpent king. All the lightning contained within the dark clouds was used by Oz to supress the platinum ranked spell variation of his opponent. The force of the impact between the two spells was so terrifying that the shockave sent both experts flying more than 50 metres, together with giant boulders, trees and mud.
The two experts were really in a sorry state. Their bodies were completely covered by mud, rain and blood. Deep wounds could be found all over their bodies. The battlefield was sharing the same fate, there were countless craters in the ground. The one produced by the impact of the serpent king spell and the thunder spell was more than a hundred meter deep. The surrounding trees and vegetation could no longer be seen. The only memento of what once was a part of the Great Forest of Magical Beasts, were some broken trunks, branches, some blood-red leaves and the burning smell of destruction.
The previous steam started to disperse. The onlookers that were hiding near there could finally make out the two figures that were fighting until just a moment ago, as well as the destruction they provoked. Even though they were heavily injured, both of them were still conscious.
Oz got up while coughing blood, he had to finish his opponent before he healed himself with his blood magic. He was tired and he felt that his body was really heavy, but he had to do it. He had to give the final blow to the red-haired before he made him reveal more of his hidden abilities. Oz never thought he would have to fight seriously in a mere entry test. He was maybe too reckless, he should have just hid himself with Demiurgos in their base of operations instead of going out and trying to be the most 'remarkable pair'. He already revealed a lot about his magic, now he couldn`t afford to even disclose more information about himself. He could feel the cold dagger on his left hand. The handgun though, was probably lost when he was sent flying by that last colision of spells.
When Oz was just 20 metres away from the red-haired. The red-haired got up slowly, with a huge grin from ear to ear. "Haaa, you were really a formidable foe, but this is the end." Two torrents of blood formed around him, healing his injuries and then those two torrents were shot towards Oz`s location. A small explosion could be heard, and as the blood strings returned to Oscar`s side, the only thing left from the explosion`s location was a small crater.
----------------------------------Project Notice Me---------------------------------------
As you might or might not have noticed, I love the rain. It might sound weird, but I love that feeling that rain`s gives me. The feeling of loneliness and desolation, it makes me realise the true value of things such as family bounds, friendship, how fortunate I am to be able to study and not suffer from hunger...All those 'small' things we take for granted when there are actually a lot of people who are not so lucky. I think that the rain is able to 'clean' us, clean our ignorance, maybe even our bad deeds. The feeling of the raindrops on the skin is quite enjoyable as long as you are not wearing some expensive clothing. Sometimes it can make you a little bit sad, but it`s recomfortable at the same time, it gives you some peace of mind. Well... I am, without a doubt, a fan of the rainy mood^^ Notice Me

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.

Unfortunately, as a bottom-tier cultivator with a laughably weak core, Logan’s dungeon options aren’t exactly stellar, and he finds himself reincarnated as a lowly fungaloid, a three-foot-tall mass of spongy mushroom with fewer skills than a typical sewer rat. If he’s going to survive the grueling challenges the academy has in store, he’ll need to ace the odd assortment of classes—Fiendish Fabrication, Dungeon Feng Shui, the Ethics of Murder 101—and learn how to turn his unusual guardian form into an asset instead of a liability.
