Chapter 6- Royal Academy of Daudis
Royal Academy of Daudis. It was established a few centuries ago by a few of the best magicians, mercenaries and other experts from the Kingdom of Sayence. It provides a high-quality learning environment which challenges all students to achieve their personal best and develop a positive vision for their future.
It has a commitment to excellence and aims to be an excellent school. And that`s why there are high requirements to enter the Academy, they only accepted the best students from the whole country.
The school provided most of the materials ned in the diferent subjects as well as excellent installations, training grounds and the most important thing, the chance to become a reputed expert in your future profession. No matter what one wanted to be, as long as he or she manages to graduate from the Royal Academy, he or she would become an ultimate expert.
The Academy promoted the direct contact with nature and danger, so it was situated in the outskirts of Daudis, near the frontier with the massive Great Forest of Magical Beasts. They wanted their students to realise the true dangers of their profession, since a lot of them aimed to be mercenaries, magicians or even join one of the knight orders. The dream of adventures filled their hearts with joy. However, the students had to realise that this is not a gentle world and only the people with true nerve could continue on this path, the path of destruction.
There were several subjects on the school, from which you had to choose at least five on your first year. The school gave students a sense of freedom. Since you could do whatever you wanted, even skipping all classes as long as you didn`t violate the three essential rules of the academy.
1. All the students must pass at least three out of their five choiced subjects.
2. Students are not to engage in duels without the authorization of a teacher or the student council.
3. Any kind of part-time job outside of the school grounds must be authorized by a teacher or the student council.
The penalization for breaking one of those three rules was either expulsion or a severe punishment decided by the teachers along with the student council.
Today was the first day of practical exams in the exalted Royal Academy of Daudis. You could see an enormous crowd of people in the entrance, probably over three thounsand. Those were the top three thousand students who scored the best results in the National Theorical Exam. But that was only a part of it, the easy part. Theorical knowledge without actual power was useless. That`s why the practical exams were way more important for the future warriors, nowadays even if one wanted to have a successful political career one would need to be someone with the might of a expert fighter.

All the youths present as well as their relatives were quite excited but also worried. Mixed emotions, but that was expected, after all this was the Royal Academy. One of the four best academies in the whole world. Everyone was eager to take the exams and become a student but also worried about the posibility of failing it. A lot of those three thousand students were from a humble home so their relatives had to sacrifice a lot just to send them here.
Of the three thousand candidates only a hundred and fifty will become students separeted in five classes of thirty people each.

"I can`t accept it."
"Please, sir. Just leave, we have to proceed with our work."
It was the day of the practical exams for the Royal Academy of Daudis, it was a cold morning, with a slight mist covering the sky. The smell of nervousness filled the main pavilion of the academy where the first test was being held. The sound of prayers to a countless amount of gods could be heard there. The first entry test was a simple illeidos aptitude test, everyone in the four Major Countries were born with a certain amount of illeidos, it would grow with time and practice until the child transformed into an adult, when one reached adulthood, the illeidos would no longer increase. The minimun amount of illeidos expected from a student candidate for the Royal Academy was three times the amount of a normal teen of their age.
Standing in front of the main pavilion examinators were a parent and his son who just failed the first illeidos aptitude test.
"Why can`t my child join? Only because his illeidos is 2.4 times the amount from a normal teen of his age? Ridiculous! Just check his well-build muscles, I personally trained him since the day of his birth!" Said the huge father of the huge student. He was over two metres tall and he was shouting to one of the examinators. An old man with dark grey hair, short stature and fragile-looking body.
The examinator sighed, while looking at his surrounding he was thinking about how to solve this matter. "Ok, it`s fine. If you can win a duel against me, sir. I would not only accept your son as a student, I will make him the next student council president!" Said the old man with a hint of irony in his voice.
The huge father smirked. Easy, too easy. He was not stupid, he wouldn`t dare to look down on the examinators just because their physical appearance looked weaker. After all, they were the examinators of the Royal Academy. However, what they didn`t know it was that he was not only a huge and unreasonable parent. He was also a Silver-ranked mercenary, he was once one of the top students from his class when he was still a student of the #8 Academy.

"Hahaha, sure. Make sure to not forget those words, you old geezer!" Said the father with scorn. "So, where do you want to duel, ol-?"
But before the huge parent could finish his question, he was sent flying over twenty meters. He bumped with a heavy sound against one of the metallic doors of the pavilion. The sound of bones breaking and blood splashing could be heard. The examinator didn`t even use a weapon. He was actually a magician!
"So, before we resume the examinations I will warn you. Please don`t make our work harder, please." Said the old man slowly with a big smile on his face.
The whole hall went silent. One of the examinators was actually a magician, those shocking news were like a bomb for every stundent candidate and parent present. Probably it was expected from the best academy of the Kingdom of Sayence. They could employ casually a magician as an examinator.
After that little incident, there were no more complains and everything proceeded smoothly. Right now it was the turn of handsome a blond-haired youth, he walked gracefully towards the examinator with the elegance that only an exquisite education could give.
"Hey, look, look. It`s lord Ren. Ren Fangsfall." Whispered a pretty girl to her friend.
"As expected of the scion of the Fangsfall Household. He is as handsome as the rumours say, maybe even more." Answered the friend with sparkling eyes.
"If only I could marry someone of his caliber...I would be the happiest wife in Daudis..." sighed another black-haired girl.
Similar murmurs could be heard through the whole hall, even the parents sighed astounded. The Fangsfall were one of the most prosperous households in the whole country of Daudis, and all their members were outstanding combatants. They had deep roots in the military of the country and in some of the Knight Orders. The current family head was Ren`s grandfather, Lord Sirius Fangsfall, one of the eight Supreme Commanders of the Kingdom, one of the eight pillars that supported the army of the Kingdom of Sayence.
"Lord Fangsfall, shall we procced?" Asked respectfully the examinator, he did not dare to act haughty this time. After all the background of Ren was extremely powerful.
"Of course." Nodded Ren with a satisfied smile, as he followed the examinator to one of the black panels. The test was extremely easy. You had to infuse your illeidos in one of the weapons the school provided for the test and hit the black panel. It will automatically measure the density and quality of the illeidos in numerical values.
Ren chose a elegant dark katana as his weapon and went towards the black panel. "Arrrrgh!" He shouted as he landed his best blow with the sword infused with his illeidos. "Booom". The floor trembled slightly as a shocking numer appeared on the black panel.
Density of illeidos: 68.9. Quality of illeidos: Excellent.
Everyone was shocked, even the jaws of the students candidates and their parents dropped. Someone with a density of six or seven would already be considered a genius, moreover the most brilliant candidate until Ren did the test was a girl who scored 14.6 in density, but the quality of her illeidos was only 'good' and not 'excellent'. In the examinations from last year the most outstanding score was 28.7. Far below the score of Ren.
Suddenly, when everyone assimilated the information. A sonorous roar could be hear in the hall. Student candidates, parents and examinators started clapping.
"As expected of the grandson of Lord Commander Fangsfall. He is so outstanding!"
"A prodigy, the prodigy of the whole nation!"
"Marry me Lord Ren!!"
Diferent shouts could be heard from the people on the hall. But all of the people had to agree in one thing. A fact. This young Lord Ren was a genius, the genius of the decade!
"Bah! What`s so good about him? He is just one of those spoiled childs of the big clans. Only because he is slightly better than you guys, that doesn`t mean he is that awesome. Hmnf!" Said a devilish-looking red-haired youth as he walked lazily to take the test.
"What are you saying, you fool!"
"Are you retarded? You are only envious of Lord Ren`s might, damn ignorant you should just die!"
The red-haired just ignored them. He ignored everyone, even the examinator. He just went to the black panel and suddenly a small fire serpent condensed in the air and shot towards the black panel. In half a breath it landed and a tremendous sound and shockwave was produced from the collision.
A small crack appeared on the black panel, which displayed really long numbers...
Density of illeidos: 378.2. Quality of illeidos: First-rate.
The whole hall went silent again. If the previous silence was due to awe and respect. This time was diferent, it was a silence of utter horror. Dangerous, this red-haired boy was just too terrifying! Even the jaws of the examinators dropped. They could see it clearly. This youth had endless potential. Not only his illeidos density and quality were shocking, he was also a magician! Maybe they were in front of a future Arch-magus, not they definitely were. This youth would become someday a terrifying expert that would shake the world.
What most of them dind`t notice was that the red-haired youth was even more of a prodigy than they thought. Only two people saw clearly that the devillish-looking guy was not even trying seriously. One of them was the old man who sent the complaining father flying. The other was a black-haired youth with ashen eyes who passed the test a while ago with a humble score of five points in density, although his quality of illeidos was also First-rate.
