Prologue- Black Wings
It was a rainy day, the sky was dark and gloomy, covered by a thousand thundering clouds. The smell of humidity was impregnating the air, maybe if you were a person with sharp senses you could even feel it in the depths of your bones.
Tom was a sharp child, he was the third son of a wealthy family in the #18 city. Although he was only 6 years old, he was born with a really high amount of Illeidos, so his celestial body was comparable to 10 year old kids. He was the pride of the family, a born leader, without a doubt he would grow up to be a great man, with a even greater strenght, respected by his neighbours and desired by women.
Unfortunately, he was too sharp for his own safety. That night he felt it, something outside was wrong, it was the same feeling as when you think about something you forgot but you are not clear about what was that something. Consequently, he decided to check what was wrong. Of course, he was not stupid, he didnt dare to go outside with the heavy rain, he just looked trough the window.
But that was enough, that night he discovered that there are things that are better left alone, people you cannot afford to offend, and even though he was only six, that night he understood that true skill and talent is diferent than high potential.

There was a man in the heavy rain, wet black hair glued to his face, fair skin, about 180 cm tall, he wore black leather clothes complementing his hair. But, the most eye-catching feature of this man was probably his silver eyes, cold and ruthless eyes. He also carried a huge suitcase on his back, over two metres of height. He was walking lightly, as if the rain and that huge suitcase were nothing but thin air to him. Then, he stopped and turned in the kid´s direction, his senses were as sharp as an exquisite knife.
The man could feel the horror and despair in the face of the kid, the kid inmediately started running away from the window, from the man. In his frenzy the kid probably didn´t even notice that he had wet himself as soon as he saw those silvery eyes, it was like looking at an endless and vast abyss. Even when his father was really pissed, he didn´t feel like this. He knew it, even without his sharp senses he could feel it, he had to run away from that man, it was pure instinct, the instinct that allowed the human race to survive for milleniums.
The man resumed his walk. After passing throught several streets and back alleys he finally spotted the building. This time his target was a businessman, during the day the man was a respectable entrepreneur, but when the sky goes dark and night falls, he would transform into a cruel local gangs´ boss. Despair and pain was his food and this guy was a ravenous eater.
But, hatred will always retaliate, if someone cannot do it themselves, they will just buy the hammer of justice with money. Human beings are strange creatures, once they face true despair and have nothing more to lose. They would go as far as selling their dignity, if doing so they can get their revenge, in this world only money and true power can save you from those kind of people. And tonight the local gang´s boss will finally know whether he got true power or not.

In a distant rooftop, the black-clothed, silvery-eyed man checked again the target with the photo in his portable terminal. Then he opened the locks from the huge suitcase, one after another, after the third 'clang' he could finally see what was inside, a slight smile rose on his lips. There was a huge dark antimaterial rifle inside, it was almost as tall as the suitcase that contained it, and you could see the words 'MK-4007-M' printed in the stock of the rifle. Those golden letters would have made almost any sniper on the 4 major countries sigh in envy.
The man swiftly assembled the rifle with the accuracy that only time and reapeated practice could give. Finally he adjusted the scope while he was lying on the floor. He aimed directly at the head of the target in a far off building, roughly 10000 meters from the rooftop. He didn´t hesitate and shot. The bullet fused with the Illeidos of the man shot out like a dark blue bolt of lightning. It traversed the distance in less than a second, almost ignoring the heavy rain and wind, and ended up landing in the space between the two eyebrows of the target. That was skill, that was true power!
The confused companions of the target watched as their boss fell like an ant, they were doumbfounded, they couldn`t understand what occurred just in front of their eyes. Their mighty and clever boss died just like that!
The black-clothed man turned to leave the rooftop with the heavy suitcase on his back, but this time his uniqueness was gone, the ruthless silver eyes dissapeared, now there was only a young man, maybe a teenager with gentle grey eyes, the same color as ash. He pressed a button in his metalic wristband and a pair of black wings appeared on his back, it was the lastest model of the metamorphic-multipurpose i-wristband. And like that the youth, jumped, and sailed the skies, leaving like the wind, dissapearing like a shadow.

A D&D Gamer in Garweeze Wurld
He doesn't know how he got here, and while the trappings are familiar, he doesn't actually know where he is, either. From the perspective of those around him, Duromar is a half-ogre barbarian, an uncivilized brute by any standard you care to use. But from his perspective, he's a character created in a gaming system. From either one, he must live within the rules of that system. This is the story of a gamer who ends up in a game that's just a bit off from what he knows. ---- I wanted to write something a little bit old-school. Most of the LitRPG I've found seems to be based on computer RPG styled stories. Progression through levels is fast, and depending on the game, skills and even attributes can be trained with or without class levels. This wasn't true with the older pen and paper games, and that's the style of leveling I wanted to write.
