《Pandora: A New Beginning》Chapter 8: The blueprint

I didn't stay to watch him forge.
Knowing that it will be near impossible to create an item with the rating of rare or higher, I started thinking about making a plan.
I searched for various things, such as going mining for rare materials, just spending all the time practising, etc.
The best I could come up with a blueprint, blueprints are considered as special items, they tell you what you need to make the item, and how to make it, but what you don't know is that you can customize them, change parts here and there making it your own unique blueprint, and by making a blueprint you can then sell it to other people, of course, all blueprints have limits, if you make a blueprint which says you can make rare - legendary versions of it, then you cant make common, uncommon, mythic, etc. It will just fail during the smithing process wasting all the materials and your time.
I walked towards the auction house, I had gained a total of 1 gold from completing Sordrocks repeating quest, having 1 gold right now was considered godly, most people would barely have 20 silver let alone 1 gold.
Walking into the auction house I noticed it was packed, with very little room for people to move about, luckily the auction house only requires you to go to the desk if you want to sell something when buying you choose what you want from the list and it takes the money from your inventory and sends you the item directly to your mail.
After opening the auction tab via my inventory I looked for blueprints, of course when searching for blueprints it was hard, because you could literally get blueprints for everything and being this early in the game it would be filled with common - rare blueprints, making rare the highest level you can get, the reason this doesn't suit me is because it is the highest, meaning that the chance of making it will literally be 1-5%, meaning out of 100 tries I could make as little as 1 and at most 5, but even that doesn't guarentee anything, I could literally make thousands and get 0 rares.
The easy way to solve this problem, change the price range, from 0 copper - 1000 gold to 10 silver - 5 gold. being in beginner village it limits what you can sell items for to 1000 gold, but late game you would see a mythic blueprint selling for 1,000,000 gold.

These 4 items were the best that I could find for early game, apart from Stormcaller crystal and Flame Essence, all the other parts are reasonably easy to gather.
Looking at the 4 I decided to give up on the wolf fur shield, although it would be reasonably easy to procure the items to make it, I'm just not that good at using fur to create items, being a blacksmith that is, well starting from the top of the other 3 I sent a message to Dominator Chris.
"Hello, are you willing to sell me Vengeance of the Depths to me?" Hopefully, he doesn't remember me, if he does then the chances of me getting this blueprint is slim.
"Clearly you can't afford it or else you would have bid on it, tell me how much you are willing to offer."
Well, at least he doesn't remember my voice, thinking that I told him my offer straightforward.
"1 Gold."
...
He didn't reply to me for 20 seconds so I called out to him again.
"You still there?"
"Still here, but come back when you have a serious offer, okay?" Saying that I didn't bother with him anymore and went over to the next name 'Corrupted Valour'.
"Hello, are you willing to sell the Short-Sword blueprint to me?"
"Price."
That's it? No small talk? I couldn't tell whether he/she was being arrogant or straightforward, so I just sent him my price.
"95 silver."
"Are you sure?"
After receiving that message I knew that maybe he/she would consider it, so I tried to offer more incentive.
"What if I give you the first one I successfully forge? Would you sell it to me then?"
...
A couple of seconds went by but I had yet to hear a sound, so I continued to wait, hopefully, he/she was considering it.
...
2 minutes had passed, I was just about to move onto the last person when I heard the reply.

"If you forge us 2 I will give you the blueprint for free, but you will have to pay a deposit of 1 gold, of course, the gold will be returned when you forge the swords for us."
"Okay, where do you want to meet?"
"Meet me outside the auction house, if you aren't here within 5 minutes then the deals off and you can find another blueprint."
Arrogant, now I realized he was being straightforward, just straight up arrogance.
I walked outside and noticed the name, it was a man.
He had a rectangular face, with a slightly pointed chin and a sharp jawline. His evenly spaced slightly large eyes underneath his arched eyebrows, under his arched eyebrows, was his nose, his nose was slightly broad, not too big, not too small, under his nose was mouth, he had thin lips which held a smile, though this smile seemed as if it was more threatening then friendly, as if you could hide a million thoughts behind it. He had a slightly narrow neck, with broad shoulders and a big chest, nor too fat or too thin, he was just over 6 ft tall, slightly taller than me so he had to lower his head to speak to me.
"Hello Rose Trinity, you have the gold ready?" His voice was deep and booming as if he could cause an earthquake everytime he spoke.
"Yes" I replied timidly, I knew that this person wasn't someone I would want to cross in my lifetime, although I was once champion in this game that was only singles. People viewed me as a witch with no heart, I had been cold to people too many times that even teams would be frightened just by seeing me, anyone who had invited me got their entire team wiped, too many people had too many grudges, as a result, I only knew famous singles players, the singles tournament wasn't even about winning, if you won that you would receive invites from teams and join them in team, guild and even national championships, the reward money from that was worth tens of millions if not hundreds.
Corrupted Valour has invited to you trade. Would you like to accept?
I accepted, we traded my gold coin for his blueprint.
Corrupted Valour has sent you a friend request. Would you like to accept?
I instantly accepted as if I didn't then he might get the impression I was scamming him.
After accepting we went our own ways.
I walked back to the forge so I could start my forging.

Cheep!?

He survived when she, too, vanished, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note. He was devastated, but he kept moving forward as best he could. Cancer didn’t put him down, and after suffering through several rounds of chemotherapy, Charles Monroe thought that things might finally be looking up. That is, until a virulent strain of ebola swept through the city. With his immune system strained as it is, the odds don’t look good for Charles. It claims that it needs his help and that it can give him a second life, one far away from all the pain he’s ever known. So, Charles answers as any reasonable person would. He says no. Charles isn't ready or willing to die yet. But, as with everything else to this point, even his choice to keep fighting is taken from him all too soon. With no other option but the dark oblivion of death, Charles chooses to make a deal with the spirit of a distant world that's seeking a wild card in its battle against the gods, monsters, and mortals that threaten its existence. Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

NEWDIE STEADSLAW Part I
NEWDIE STEADSLAW is a randomized array of Chekhov's red herrings, non sequitors ex machina, run-on sentences, and em dashes—so many em dashes. It's like if the Bible and Shakespeare had a baby that they surrendered to foster care, then it got adopted by Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss—the books, not the people—and then the baby fell down the stairs. In this metaphor, the stairs wrote the story. Part I is the tale of the adventures of Traycup and Roby as they try to hold down a job inside the hollow Earth—a place made possible thanks to the secret science of embargoed relativity—and they get distracted by dancing foxes, a giant's record collection, and something with a train, I think. It's a work of fiction—although to call it work seems insulting to, y'know, actual work—but the fiction label is apt, so, y'know, that's a win. Half the words are made up, and the other half are embarrassed to be seen with them. Part I is complete.
