《Pandora: A New Beginning》Chapter 3: The Elder

"Name." The system said with its monotonous voice.
"Rose Trinity" I replied.
"Would you like to randomize your race, class and life class?"
"No" I already had a class in mind with my strategy, if I randomized everything now it will ruin my plan.
"Please select your race, please keep in mind the race you choose will belong to a certain alignment and this alignment cannot be changed."
Evil Neutral Good Devil Dark Elf Wood Elf Demon Human Celestial Orc Gnome Fairy Blood Elf Dwarf Half-Elf
"Dark Elf" Although the media coverage on Pandora has been high, the actual information about the game released is extremely limited, one of the key points mentioned is that there are other ways to get attribute points.
"Please select your class, please note that you are not required to follow the recommended attributes."
Class Recommended Attributes Warrior Strength and Constitution Archer Dexterity and Agility Thief Strength, Dexterity and Agility Mage Intelligence and Dexterity
"Thief"
"Would you like to select your life class now or wait?"
"Wait." As I expected, you can still choose to wait and find an NPC to mentor you.
There are advantages of having NPCs mentor you, the rate at which you will gain life class exp will increase, as well as receiving advice and tips and finally the most important point, you can build relations with the NPCs, creating more opportunities to gain more hidden quests, which wouldn't be available normally.
"Congratulations, you have created your account."
"The game will be open in 25:43:57. Please come back when the timer has finished to play the game."
After I finished creating my character I exited my capsule, it had only taken me a couple of hours to finish creating my character, so I went downstairs and watched T.V. for the rest of the day.

When it came to midnight I headed off to bed, but unfortunately, I was very nervous unable to get to sleep, so I stayed awake looking at my ceiling, I set my alarm to wake me up 1 hour before launch and then closed my eyes, it still takes a while to do but eventually falling asleep.
...
I woke up the next morning and looked at the time, my alarm didn't go off so I woke up only 30 minutes before the launch of the game, I had a quick shower and got into some comfortable clothes and sat in the capsule.
While inside the capsule all I could see was a timer, so I slowly watched the timer decrease second by second.

"Welcome to Pandora."
It was very nostalgic, seeing the opening again, but this I had some extra knowledge about the game, for example, you can simply skip the intro by simply saying "skip." This piece of information wasn't found out until 4 months after the game launched which didn't provide anyone with an advantage, but that was because the 'first' title had already been taken, although this title wasn't anything special in the early game, it became an extremely great item for the late game, because this wasn't just any title, this title gave the user access to a 'God' quest which came in 5 parts.
"Skip."
"Are you sure you want to skip the opening to Pandora? After the opening is skipped it will not be viewable again."
"Yes."
After that was said the intro for Pandora was skipped and I landed in the middle of a village, the game had many villages like this all numbered from 1-100,000. The village which you land in is totally random so despite being the first person to log in I landed in Beginner Village 40,593.

After landing I walked to the village elder.
"Welcome traveller, because you are the first traveller to land in this world you are granted the title 'First'."
Title Obtained: 'First' 'First' - A title given to the first person to arrive in this world.

After receiving the title I checked my status window
Name: Rose Trinity Race: Dark Elf Level: 1 Class: Thief Life Class: N/A Health: 200 Mana: 100 Strength: 11 Constitution: 11 Agility: 11 Dexterity: 11 Intelligence: 11 Charisma: 11
"Thank you, Village Elder."
Relation with the village elder has increased by 1
"Village elder, you look tired, is there something I can do to help?"
"Recently there has been a lot of wolves attacking the villages on the outskirts of the village, can you prevent the wolves from attacking the villagers?"
E-rank Quest received:
Kill 10 wolves: 0/10
As I walked away from the village elder I saw more and more people starting to emerge in my village, without paying attention to it any longer I walked to the edge of the village where the wolves are located.

It looks like he is trying to save her or... to kill her. But what will the girl do when the man from her dreams suddenly appears before her eyes in reality? *** *** *** Flames devoured the remnants of a fallen plane. The pilot's voice was no longer audible. Slowly falling white snow reinforced the feeling of complete hopelessness. "Lena, run!" "But…" "I said, RUN!" Taking his words as an order, Elena's legs, not listening to the desires of her heart, carried her away from this place as quickly as possible. Out of breath, but finding the strength to run farther through this dark forest, she heard nothing but the knock in her chest. Suddenly, the ground disappeared under her feet, and the body lost its balance. "Oh, and who is this hiding in here? Did the little mouse decide to play with the big cat? Oh dear, as I said, you can not hide from me. Neither in this life nor the next one." Elena's heart sank in horror. She has just lost the last chance to survive.

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
