Chapter 0:

Ten years before the current times, an event changed the world as we know it.

On that day a meteor appeared near earths orbit seemingly out of thin air. There were no signs of it’s course towards us, suddenly it was there. Within a few hours it entered low earth orbit, thankfully it fell into the desserts of Africa. Even though it was incredibly massive, it’s impact was soft. No time was wasted and researches from all over the world mobilized to investigate the strange meteor, but only 6 hours after it’s initial impact something that scientists had never seen before happened. The massive meteorite in the span of mere seconds became a ball of plasmatic energy. It burned it’s surroundings and the researches around it. But that was not the weirdest thing that happened, it only spent but a mere hour in this state before it started to lose it’s size and slowly disappeared. At first the worlds government thought it was just a freak incident of nature, but they were wrong.

A few days after the initial impact, people begun awakening superhuman abilities. Slowly more and more people also started to awaken them, but there were also those who couldn’t awaken them, becoming monsters. For a short period these people were hailed as gods of the new world, unstoppable by anyone.

But this was quickly ended with the creation of the ability suppressant, with this the governing powers all over the globe subdued these new found power bearers. Thus passing the “Power Bearer Decree” in which stated that all power bearers must be handed over to the government and if deemed dangerous. The power bearer would be made a criminal and an open bounty is placed on their head.

And now, ten years later, being a power bearer is almost as frightful as encountering one. This is something this generation knows well.
