《Infinite Swordsman and His Cafe》Chapter 19: Aftermath

Sirzechs looked at the list of people in the hospital. Behemoth attacks severely injure many devils. While they are not directly hit by Behemoth attack, the Radiation from Behemoth is enough to kill a mid-class devil if they are exposed to the radiation for a minute.
It was already a week after the fight against Behemoth, but the people that got injured are not yet recovering.
Luckily there is no death in the fight. However, the clan head and elder that join in the fight need to stay in the hospital because their Demonic power becomes unstable after exposure to the Behemoth Radiation.
This is the most successful fight against Behemoth they ever had in many years. Last Year, The lost 30 devils, including the head clan of Vassago and Paimon in the fight against Behemoth. Two years ago, they lost 55 devils against Behemoth as it was the first time they fought Behemoth.
He sat down on the chair inside his office with the other satan. He looks at Grayfia and his wife, serving them some tea. He takes a sip of the drink before sighing and looking at the other satan.
"Serafall, do you have the information about Sasaki Kojiro?"
Sasaki Kojiro That is the name of the hero of the fight between them and Behemoth. The Elder and Clan Heads demand the Maou recruit Sasaki Kojiro. However, Sirzechs know that Sasaki Kojiro is a member of the Shinto Faction. He doesn't want to risk a war against the Shinto Faction while they still have a problem with the Stray Devil. Not only will it endanger the population of the devil but also with the attack pattern of Behemoth that will attack them once a year, then the Shinto will wait after the Behemoth attack before they attack the Underworld.
While he hopes that someone can persuade Sasaki Kojiro to become a devil, he doesn't want anyone to decide to use violence to recruit Sasaki Kojiro. He also doesn't know if anyone can reincarnate Sasaki Kojiro if his sense is correct, then even Sirzechs himself can't reincarnate him using the regular devil pieces.
"I can't say anything about Sasaki Kojiro or at least the current Sasaki Kojiro. I can find the information about the previous holder of the name Sasaki Kojiro. There is only one Sasaki Kojiro because the previous holder doesn't have any descendants, so we can assume that Sasaki Kojiro is the successor to Sasaki Kojiro. The previous Kojiro is dead when he fights Miyamoto Musashi in a duel. Kojiro's most known achievement is his fight against Susanoo. They fight with a sword and nothing else for 5 hours straight. However, it ended up in Kojiro's defeat."

Serafall takes a deep breath before looking at Sirzechs with a serious face that is rarely seen in the face of Serafall.
"While I can't confirm this rumor, it was said that Kojiro is the one that kills Lung the Dragon and Ned the Crawler. I don't if it was true, but we can't just ignore this news."
"I see, Serafall continues to search for any information you can find about Sasaki Kojiro."
"Yes"
Sirzechs looks at Ajuka Beelzebub and says.
"Ajuka, have the Devil Pieces stopped being regulated? I don't want any more Stray Devil to appear in the Underworld. One Behemoth is enough."
"Yes. However, there are some of them in the Black Market that I can't find. Some of the elders do not register the Devil Pieces to me."
"I see. If you find any of the pieces, I give you the full permission to destroy it, and if anyone refuses to cooperate, then kill them."
After he said that, Ajuka looked at him surprised a little before saying.
"Are you sure? I don't think many elders will agree to this order."
"I don't care. I'm LUCIFER. I don't care about their ego while the other devil died because of the Stray Devil they created."
"Very well."
Sirzechs looks at Falbium, who tries not to fall asleep in the meeting.
"Falbium… AHEM"
"Ehhh? Wha?"
"Falbium, what is the condition in the area near the Capital?"
"Bad, Behemoth is what I call Sandboxing. The area we fight becomes a nuclear wasteland. That place also became a volcanic region with an active volcano near each other. We can use the volcano for our benefit, but we need to close the volcanic vent Behemoth created so it can't use it once more. The forest in the northeast of Lilith also gone because of Behemoth."
"I see, Is the radiation bad for the Devil?"
"Yes, The radiation has the same attribute to Behemoth Kill Aura, so we need some time to clean the radiation. While it doesn't have the same power as the Kill Aura but it has the same poison effect to Devil race. I already placed some High-Class devils around the area to prevent any civilians from getting close."
"Good, Order the cleaning crew to do their best and make this their priority."
"Yes"
"Very well, Dismiss."
After saying that, the other Maou begins to leave his office, leaving him and Grayfia. Seeing the other is going, he sighs and scratches his neck.

"Are you okay, Sirzechs?"
He looked at his wife and smiled at her before saying.
"To be honest with you, no, I'm not okay."
"Why? Is there a problem?"
"The elder decides that if we can't recruit Sasaki Kojiro, they want me to kill him."
"What?!?"
"Yeah, They think Kojiro will become a problem to the Devil race. Sometimes I was thinking about the decision I made when I accepted the Old Satan family surrender is a mistake. They always make things worse. The illegal Devil Piece, the treatment to the new reincarnated devil and their way to 'recruit' others to join our race."
He could see Grayfia grimace at the mention of some of the pillar member methods of 'recruiting' the other to join their peerage. Some of them recruit their candidate with Blackmail, some of them with violence, and some of them outright using Brainwash. While he can handle some of them, he can't watch all the movements of the High-Class devil in their venture to create a strong peerage.
They almost go to full war against the Norse faction because the heir of the Valefor clan decides to brainwash a valkyrie. When the Norse faction knows about it, Thor himself leads the army of Norse faction, and he also brings Odin and Freyja to the Underworld. That day they were able to make a peace treaty with Norse Faction in exchange for the extinction of the Velefor clan.
That day, the Devil race lost one of its pillars to the Norse Faction.
"I don't want the clan heir to decide to do the same thing to the valkyrie the Valefor their do in the past. I don't want to go to war against the Shito faction if we kill or even do some aggressive method. If we go to war, then our old enemy will attack us as well, like Kokabiel. I have some information that Kokabiel is looking away to start a great war once more."
"I see, There is nothing we can do?"
"I already sent my peerage to gather some rumor about the people that try to 'recruit' Kojiro. If there is an attempt of aggressive invitation, I order them to take down the one that tries to do it."
He sighs and sips another tea. He then felt his wife hugging him from behind with her head on top of his shoulder.
"If you need anything, please tell me, okay?"
"Thank you, Grayfia."
They decide to stay a little longer in the office and enjoy each other's presence.

Currently, Kojiro and Yasaka are sitting down on the sofa on the veranda of his house. This is the third date they have this week. They just finished eating the food he cooked for their date. He must say, Yasaka is a pleasant woman to have a conversation with.
They continue to watch the stars after eating while watching some stars Kojiro take out some sake from his pocket dimension. With his belly full, he is then relaxing while watching a star with a cup of sake on his hand and enjoying all of it with the woman he likes. It was a perfect life for him.
After 15 minutes, Yasaka says that she needs to go back to the palace. They then get up from the sofa, and Kojiro picks up some snacks from his pocket dimension and gives it to Yasaka.
"For Kunou"
"I see, Thank you Kojiro-kun."
"It's okay."
"Thank you for everything."
Before he could say anything, Yasaka leaned forward and kissed him on the lips then smiled at him. Before Kojiro could snap from his shocked state, Yasaka disappeared from his sight.
After snapping from his thoughts, Kojiro smiled a little.
"Look like the vixen got her prey, huh?"

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
