《Infinite Swordsman and His Cafe》Chapter 14: Interlude
Advertisement
Clock Tower, London, England. Zelretch is currently thinking about the other user of Kaleidoscope. After using his power for at least 3 hours, he still cannot find any Sasaki Kojiro that can use Kaleidoscope. All of Sasaki Kojiro, he can find, is mostly a peerless swordsman that can imitate true magic to a certain degree but not fully master it. However, the one that comes to his world is the one that masters the art of Kaleidoscope and also has Kaleidoscope that is more powerful than him, or at least his current state.
His Kaleidoscope is only a quarter of Kojiro Kaleidoscope in terms of power. He knows about this because he theorizes that Kojiro is from the other universe other than 'Nasuverse.' Zelretch knows his universe is in the package of the universe named Nasuverse because when he first got his Kaleidoscope, he was stranded into the world where many people from his universe are an anime character.
At first, he is shocked at it, but after a snap from his thought, Zelretch 'buys' the set of Anime, Book, and Game from the store and then goes back to his clock tower. He studies books, anime, and games for a week. However, before he could go to the other universe other than Nasuverse, Brunestud of the Crimson Moon accident is happening. He uses all the power of the Kaleidoscope to push back the moon from the earth. While he was successful at preventing the Crimson Moon, killing all humanity, his connection to the full power of Kaleidoscope is cut off, making him not able to access the full power of Kaleidoscope.
Now Zelretch can only go to the world inside this 'Nasuverse' and cannot go to the other universe. If only he knew how to use his full power at that time, then he could prevent the connection between universes getting cut off or at least not all of them. The most infuriating thing is that he can't go back to the point of his time before the battle against the crimson moon. Every time he gets in that timeline, he always gets killed by the Crimson Moon, and his counterpart is killed as well because the Crimson Moon knows how the True Magic works.
Zelretch shook his head when he was thinking about all his counterparts that tried to go to that time. He looked at the Bale of Inexhaustibility, the same bale of rice that Tawara Touta owned. Zelretch can get this bale of rice from one of the dying families in the other world that sold this bale of rice. They are an ordinary family that doesn't have any magic in their vein, so they can't feel the magic in it. Originally the bale of rice will be sold to some amateur magus that later destroys it as he wants to reveal the secret of its magic.

Zelretch didn't know if Kojiro wanted this item, but judging from the Kojiro food that he brought, Zelretch guesses he is someone that has cooking as his hobby.
Earlier, he thought about giving Kojiro some weapon from the legend, but if he is like his other counterpart, then he will reject it, saying that he only fights with his sword. Zelretch also knows that Kojiro cannot fight or use his Noble Phantasm with other weapons other than Monohoshi Zao. Kojiro can still use Tsubame Gaeshi, but it will not be as effective as his current weapon.
Zelretch also thought about giving Kojiro some precious jewel, but he decided against it because he knew Kojiro would reject it immediately.
He sighs a little and begins to drink the sake that Kojiro gave him. He must admit, this is one of the most delicious sake he ever drank. He looks at the ceiling and hopes that the other magus will not do something stupid against Kojiro. Zelretch doesn't want anyone to make Kojiro angry, and the reason is because of his Anti-World, Anti-Reality Noble Phantasm. If it was only an ordinary servant, then he will ignore it, but this time it was a servant that has a Kaleidoscope and has full access to it. This means Kojiro has an infinite supply of mana from the Kaleidoscope. Not only that, but Kojiro is also one of the strongest swordsmen in the world. He can't think of many people that can match him in swordplay. Swordsman that can destroy reality that also has infinite magic. Zelretch doesn't know if Kojiro knows any magecraft, but he has a feeling that Kojiro knows how to use some form of Magecraft.
To summarize, Sasaki Kojiro is a Saber because of his swordplay, magic resistance given by Kaleidoscope, and Zelretch guessing he can ride some modern vehicle, so Kojiro must have a riding skill even though it was E- rank.
Caster is automatically added because he is a user of the Kaleidoscope. Zelretch also adds Magecraft to the list because Zelretch knows he must know how to use Magecraft.
Lastly, Assassin, Kojiro, got an Assassin class because it was his original class and still his class until now. He has presence concealment in C Rank from D rank, a full rank up from his previous rank.
If Kojiro is the participant of Fuyuki Holy Grail, then he will be the winner of the war. The victory is not easy if he doesn't use his Noble Phantasm, but it is possible. Kojiro also has some weird Personal Skill that even Alaya cannot see. He doesn't know what it was, but judging by the rank, It will boost Kojiro's chance to win the grail.

Zelretch sighs once more and decides to relax for the night drinking sake.

Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, one of the few people inside the clock tower that has a title of Brand, the second most powerful title just below the Grand.
Currently, Kayneth is sitting inside his office, drinking some wine. Near him is his servant Lancer Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, the Knight of Fianna and his Fiancee Sola-Ui Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri.
"Master, why are you calling us here?"
"I have some news to tell you two."
As he says that, his Fiancee asks him.
"Is it something from your journey to the Clock Tower?"
"Yes"
He sighs and drinks his wine in one go before saying.
"There is another user of Kaleidoscope."
"What?"
"Yes, The Wizard Marshall Zelretch brings him to the clock tower."
"I see, so why do you need to tell us this?"
Kayneth sighs once more and scratches the back of his neck before saying.
"The new Magician is the so-called Assassin that appears from the early fight."
"What?!?"
Kayneth looked at their shocked face and nodded, then said.
"Yes, I don't know how, but he can make himself look like a servant while, in reality, he is not a servant. I don't know why but the user of Kaleidoscope is always a prankster. However, that is not the thing I want to say"
"What is it?"
"When you see him, don't engage him and never, NEVER, try to spy on him."
"Why? I thought you wanted to reach the root? This will be your chance."
"No, Zelretch declares that no one approaches him, and if anyone dares to do it even though he already warns us, then he will kill them all."
"Just like the Tree of Life incident."
"Yes, Just like the Tree of Life incident."
"I see, so what will we do?"
"Nothing, the other master should be informed right now and also the Church."
"Very well, is there anything else?"
"No"
Kayneth then sees his Fiance leave him alone in his office. He looked at the ceiling with a glass of wine in his hand and thought about the Tree of Life incident.
A few years ago, there was a tree that grew in the middle of the Sahara Desert. However, that is not something unusual; the weird thing about that thing is the Tree releasing a massive amount of mana to the air. Many magus try to get close to the Tree, but there is a barrier that prevents them from getting closer. When they try to destroy the barrier, Zelretch appears and declares that the Tree is off-limits. At first, many magi obeyed Zelretch's word but seeing there was a plant that began to grow around the Tree that also released a massive amount of mana. Many magi decided to ignore Zelretch's warning.
The next day, there is a purge to the African Magus Family. Almost all magus families from the African Magus community are killed. Even the children are not spared. That day is known as the Tree of Life incident and also the day that the world remembers just how strong the Magicians are.
The next day, the Tree of Life is gone from its previous place. Many people speculated Zelretch moved the Tree to the reverse side of the world. Nobody is brave enough to ask Zelretch the question and let it be a mystery that magus can't solve.
Kayneth doesn't want his family to go extinct because he stumbles upon the second user of Kaleidoscope. He swallows his pride and desire to learn Kaleidoscope so his family will not go extinct.
He raises his glass to the people that dare to ignore Zelretch's warning. May their souls have peace.
