《I'm... Skeleton A?!》The Murder of Ensign Asamoto

I wake to blaring sirens. Flashes of red flitting across my eyelids.
“Wha- what’s going on?!” I shout bolting upright to immediately slam my head on the cot above mine.
“Ensign Asamoto! We need you down in the engine room!” A half-dressed man yells coming into the cramped room. The lack of clothing resulting in a lack of rank.
“What’s the problem?” I ask quickly pulling on some trousers.
“No time!” He shouts as he grabs my arm, dragging me out.
We quickly pass by the berthing compartment, others rushing out in similar fashion.
“Is it an attack?!”
“No, but the hull’s been compromised!”
“What?! How?!”
I’m starting to understand the situation.
“If the hull’s been compromised, what do you need me in the engine room for? I’m not an engineer! I’m a commanding officer.” I say to the unfamiliar man… wait. It’s nearly impossible to not know everyone given the small size of the crew.
“Oh, that.” He responds, a grin forming on his face.
“Gah,” I cry out in pain as a knife passes through my kidney. Nobody notices in the commotion as I fall to my knees.
My blood flows onto metal as my eyes strain to find my killer. I spot him for a second as the knife clatters next to me. The clang of metal on metal rings in my ears. The sound surprisingly loud given the situation.
Painfully slow, I manage to flip myself over and drag myself to the side. Propping myself against the wall, I attempt to apply pressure on the wound, but my hand soon finds the laceration too large to contain. Pain arcs through my body causing my hands to shy away before the sensation begins to dull.
I feel tremors from an explosion. As my eyes close, I hear screeching metal as the hull caves in. The freezing cold of water as it pours in. Panicked voices, and a final glimpse of my surroundings as the walls close in.
Crushed beyond recognition.

8 68Soul Core Online
Soul Core Online was a game that few people were interested in until after it was released, due to its odd way of handling character growth but this soon changed as people started to realise just how different this game was. Unlike many of its predecessors the NPCs in Soul Core Online acted in a way that was indistinguishable from real people and the world felt alive because of this instead of the empty and sterile cities we had come to expect, even walking down the street could give you insights to how these people lived. In my case this was the world that I had always wanted to visit and I soon found myself embroiled in the constantly changing world that is Soul Core Online.
