《SOUL LAND: DOULUO DALU THE GAME》CHAPTER 20

Nuoding primary spirit master academy was not as big as it appeared outside, and was mainly divided into a few areas: the main school building, a sports ground and a dormitory to the east of the sports ground.
Even though it was only an elementary spirit master academy, this place’s requirements towards students were extremely strict; even if the home was near the academy, students must still live in the academy under a unified regime.
At the dean’s office, on the main school building’s first floor, was a sixty year old teacher who was in charge of dealing with new students assisted by two additional teachers in their thirties.
Grandmaster placed the certificate he held on the desk, and said towards that elderly teacher, “Director Su, this is this year’s working student delivered by Holy Spirit village, I will trouble you to help him register at once.”
Director Su, his face covered by a smile, said,“Why Grandmaster, you have come, a rare visitor, ah! Please have a seat.”
Grandmaster shook his head, and said to me, “You enroll here on your own, these several teachers can tell you what to do. I’ll leave first, I will go find you later.”
Nodding, I respectfully said, “Goodbye Teacher.”
Grandmaster revealed a smile, stroked my head, then turned and left. Hearing how I addressed Grandmaster, director Su appeared very interested, “Lad, you called Grandmaster teacher? He is not our academy’s teacher.”
I said, “But he is my teacher.”
Director Su stared blankly, “You acknowledged Grandmaster as your Teacher?”
His expression was somewhat queer, a kind of expression as if holding back laughter.
I simply replied yes.
Director Su repeatedly shook his head and said smilingly, “I did not think Grandmaster could also accept disciples. Only, you are still originally an academy student, and hereafter must comply equally with the academy’s system of regulations, you understand?”
"Yes"
The two teachers to the side of director Su did not have as much self-restraint as him. One of them grabbed the spirit hall certificate for a look. Smiling, he said,
“Tang San, right. As an academy teacher, I must instruct you at once. A master cannot be acknowledged casually. Any soul master, not to mention denying academy graduation, also can only acknowledge a soul master, otherwise one cannot be accepted by the common people. Do you really believe Grandmaster is quite suitable? Oh, you have innate full spirit power. What a pity, the spirit is blue silver grass.”
Common people? Hehe, Since when was the interest and the belief of the common people ever taken into account? Who even cared about them? If you were powerful enough, you'd bend the people’s will rather than being bend by them. If society doesn't approve it, then I will make them approve. If you were powerful enough, who would go against you? Rather they would do everything in thier capability to please you.
Looking at the words innate full spirit power on the certificate, the faces of all the teachers present displayed astonishment, but blue silver grass caused their awe to turn into pity.
Director Su glared at the younger teachers beside him, after I gave him a questionable look and said, “Even if Grandmaster has a somewhat eccentric disposition, but from a certain point of view, with respect to spirit, he is nevertheless an ‘unequalled’ existence. Even if your spirit is blue silver grass, acknowledging him as master is of no concern. Well, that’s how it is. These are your things, provided for free by the academy. You live at the dormitory, room seven. The teacher responsible there can arrange your work as a working student. Go.”

“Thank you”
Taking the things director Su handed over, I made my courtesies before leaving the administration office.
What academy had given me was a standard Nuoding primary spirit master academy uniform. As I was leaving the administration office, I vaguely heard the conversation between those younger teachers.
“Grandmaster really is ‘unequalled’, only, unequalled in theory. Of course, he still must put those theories to actual work. Director, I still remember Grandmaster had some ten great core spirit competences theory, right? That was simply too ridiculous.”
“Enough, Grandmaster is the dean’s friend. You must not make such presumptuous evaluations. Although there is no proof his theory is correct, but no one has proved his theory wrong. In the soul world, Grandmaster is indeed a brilliant and famous person.”
“Incorrect, director, a brilliant and famous clown should be correct. Everyone just acts if he is a joke, nothing more.”
Hearing the sound of the conversation inside, my footsteps halted for a moment, but proceeded to leave the next moment. The corners of my mouth exuded a trace of disdain; this was so hilarious. The three teachers in the administration office didn’t understand anything about spirits, yet they made Grandmaster’s fun. But, this was good too, if everyone thought of Grandmaster like this, no one will try to poach or hinder him and I can learn peacefully from him without any interruptions and worries.
The three teachers were naturally not qualified to check the Grandmaster’s qualifications. From barely a simple certificate he could see that I had twin martial souls, and further conclude that my other spirit was a formidable one. This was expertise. It was also because of his knowledge, that I earnestly wanted to study from him.
Theory unequalled? Right now my biggest necessity was theory. A master’s physical strength could not be passed on to the disciple - what was passed down was knowledge. Even though they were academy teachers, they did not even understand this much,
The dormitory building, was where the academy students and teachers all lived. Soul masters in a remote city like Nuoding were very few. The amount of students and teachers could easily fit inside a single building.
The student dormitory altogether only had seven rooms. Because the elementary soul master academy students were all comparatively young, in order to better supervise them together every year’s students lived together in a big dormitory room. Each year’s Nuoding primary soul master academy students were only approximately forty people.
The dormitory building’s lower three floors held seven big student dorm rooms, and every dorm room had a teacher in charge.
Room seven among these seven student dorm rooms was a comparatively unusual place. The circumstances were also the most different: it was a place especially for working students. Even though the tuition for working students was lowered, the treatment could not be as good as that of ordinary students.
Room seven was also the only mixed age dormitory, so no matter what grade, all working students lived here.
As I reached the door of room seven I could hear loud noises from inside. Since the door was open, so I walked up to look inside.
This was an expansive room, in excess of three hundred square metres. Inside altogether fifty beds were lined up, but only eleven had bedding. Right now, inside there were seven or eight to twelve year old students making a ruckus.

I knocked on the door, and the children arguing inside immediately turned their gazes in my direction. Among them an older comparatively large kid looked at my clothing covered with patches, then walked towards him.
This kid compared was nearly two heads taller, and his body was comparatively tall and sturdy for his age. Walking up in front of Tang San, he somewhat towered above him and said, “A newly arrived working student?”
“Yes, I am a working student from Holy Spirit village.”
“I am called Wang Sheng, my spirit is a future war tiger battle spirit. Also the head of this place. Boy, what’s your name? What’s your spirit?”
“I’m Tang San, spirit is blue silver grass.”
“Blue silver grass spirit? Since when could a blue silver grass spirit cultivate?”Wang Sheng appeared absolutely startled, the kids in the dormitory all broke out in raucous laughter , looking at me as if I was an idiot.
“Little Third, I’m the boss here, hereafter you listen to me, got it?”
Congratulations, folks we have just met another arrogant "I'm superior than others" retard. It looks as if they grow on trees with a discount of 1 + 1, while this world was filled with them to the brim, promoting them - free, free, free. It's just that, talking to them will permanently decrease your brain cells. But atleast he was kid unlike some adult who's brain doesn't grow with their age.
“Firstly, my name is Tang San, not little Third.”
Wang Sheng raised his hands to push at my shoulders, pushing me back several steps,
“I’m calling you little Third, so what? Not satisfied?”
I smiled, lightly shaking my head, holding my shoulder with a pained expression, "Senior, how can you bully someone as weak as me? If Senior wishes to call me little Third, why don't we make a bet?"
"What bet?"
I winked at him and said to him like I was saying a secret, "Senior, just now I saw a very cute and beautiful girl walking in this direction. Perhaps it's Senior's lucky day. Why don't you fight her? If she is defeated by you, she'll greatly admire you."
"How can I fight a girl? What if she'll get injured?"
Trying by best to hold back my laughter, I said, "Then I bet you'll lose. If you can win against her, you can call me little third"
Before that Sheng guy could even say anything, one of the students made a bet of 10 copper spirit coins. Slowly everyone started betting on Sheng to win.
"Ok then, if the girl loses, I'll pay double the amount to each of you. But if Wang Sheng loses, you all will pay 10x the amount. "
"Why should we pay 10x when you only pay double?"
"Senior brother, look how each and everyone of you have bet on Wang Sheng, if I were to pay each and every one of you, I'll go broke!"
"But..."
"If you’re not sure Wang Sheng will win, then you can still withdraw. How can you all gangup to bully a weak guy like me?"
Before anyone could reply, a clear and melodious voice came from outside,
“Is this room seven?”
Everybody looked in the direction of the door, eyes immediately staring at someone.
They caught sight of a pretty, very young girl standing in the door, seemingly about the same age as me, height was also practically the same. With a pretty little rosy face, and fair and soft appearance resembling a completely ripe honey peach, giving people an urge to bite off a mouthful. Although her clothing was very plain, it still looked very neat.
Black long hair combed into a scorpion braid hanging past her buttocks. A pair of bright and intelligent eyes appearing full of curiosity. Both her hands carried a covered brand new school uniform. Hehe, let's welcome our heroine into our story. My beautiful future girlfriend and in future wife had finally arrived.
All the students in the dormitory were boys, and seeing this kind of beautiful young girl suddenly appear, each and every one showed a gaping appearance.
"Brother Sheng, you have hit jackpot." I encouraged him to start the conversation.
"It's really strange; last year there wasn't even one working student, this year there are two. Boss, go, give her a show of strength.” someone commented.
Done, hehe the kids were so easy to fool. The bet was set and now I only had to wait for my money to be in pocket. As the main female character of the story, how could she be weak. In the original story, after Tang San defeated Wang Sheng, he was defeated by her.
The girl in the doorway blinked with her big eyes. She again raised her head to take a look at the room seven sign plate on the door, and on her face appeared a happy smile.
“Hello everyone, I’m called Xiao Wu, Wu of dancing.”
"I am Wang Sheng, my spirit is a future war tiger battle spirit"
Xiao Wu blinked, and said with a smile, “My spirit is rabbit. A very lovely sort of little white rabbit."
"Uh.. Hi. I'm the boss of the dorm seven. As per the regulations you need to fight me to pass this door."
Xiao Wu gave a puff of laughter, and said, “Do you really mean, you won’t let me inside?”
“This……, it’s like this: our room seven has a rule that newly arrived working students must at once show their spirit’s actual strength. Therefore, I want you and me to exchange pointers for a moment.” replied Wang Sheng.
Xiao Wu looked strangely at him, “You’re certain?”
Wamg Sheng nodded, and said, “I’m certain.”
Xiao Wu set the school uniform she held to one side, on her face showed a bit of excitement, “Fine, then come.”
Without even waiting for Wang Sheng to respond, her right leg had already bent and risen, the lower leg popping up in a flash, kicking straight for the latter's chin. It would appear not to have much strength, but it was extraordinarily fast.
Finished. It was a one hit K.O.
I slowly turned around towards the rest of the students whose jaws were all dropped. I tilted my head with a devilish smile and pointed towards my hand. I was gonna leech everyone's money dry. Escape wasn't an option anymore.

I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!
