CHAPTER 12 – A Test from Adventure Guild

It has been ten days after Ray came to Luca, with Olivia the few days he do is reading a lot of books in library after he got bored and began continue his touring in luca shopping district, he even come to colosseum one more time another day and once again make an impressive 3 winning steak, he then take a few job at adventure guild, he even suggest Olivia to become an adventure with him and act as his companion, they do a few C rank quest which help them get some more gold, then after sometimes ray then ask to the staff about rank B adventure,

“oh so you still don’t know the promotion (LV UP) requirement lad?” the one in the reception area is a man in his early thirty and it seems he is a pro adventure,

“isn’t that only do ten quest at C rank?”

“no lad you are wrong there, it just happen for E and D rank member but for C rank to become B rank member they had more condition one must fulfill “

“can you tell more about...”

“sure and because it seems you had already do much quest at C rank I think you deserve to had our test”

“in Adventure Guild one can be place in 6 rank just like all we know

E rank is for newcomer

For D and C rank you must ‘capable’ to do the request / job

At B rank one must ‘Worthly’ do the job

A rank one can get base on your achievement

The last S rank one must had a final test but the HQ will tell you about the condition if you want it after you get you’re A rank first”

“here your job for the start you need to hunt one Ursa head in mountain Vin, just go from east gate then you will see the mountain there, after you finish your job we will begin your test”

“is that all?”

“hoo.. so your confident with your skill lad?”

“of course”

“then its okay… ah and if you think you can hunt it with just your sword I warn you so you will not die at the site, try to use trap if you cant hunt it with ordinary means even someone who use firearms cant kill it with just a shot or two except pro hunter”

“thanks then I will get this done then”

“you have all time you need so don’t be rush lad”

It still early in the afternoon so even if ray not rush to the mountain the time for the hunt can be done anytime he need, with Olivia ray first go to general store to buy some nessesaries camp supplies afterthat they depart by ride guts…

“whenever I see it this world really beautiful right Olivia” just as ray said the southern province really had great view, wide grassland, big tall forest, clear and big river that cros from north to the southern area, and because the vast land even if there many people there they just a tiny fraction of whole population in area,

“yes young master..” even if she had clear and beautiful voice but there some part that seems sad in her tone

“Olivia” ray call her

“yes”

“If you had something you want to say just said it, from the first time Im with you it seem you still had something you cant forget, so can you tell me what is it?’

“im afraid to say it master…” Olivia mutter her world carefully

“just say it and call me youngmaster okay” he reply with his usually bright smile

“its about my hometown youngmaster …” she begin to talk but stop after sometimes

“continue im all ear”

“it just after I taken by slave dealer and become a slave… not even once I hear something from my hometown or their attempt to search for my wearbouts … i just.. I just don’t know anything else..” with tearfull eye he talk to ray

After olivia finish telling ray all her sealed emotion ray then try to calm her by patting his beautiful long white hair,

“you know Olivia” ray began to speak after a while

“yes youngmaster”

“for me I just a free man who don’t bound to anything, i don’t have someone I can truly call as a family, I don’t have any place I can call home, maybe you think its very sad for me to say this but I really greatful for all I had for now, but for you Olivia I must tell if you had regret and still had affection for your former home…”

“alright, we will go to beastman land after this quest I promise”

“but master you will”

“they would kill me right? How can they would not if they know two of their son died and their daughter being enslave in foreign land, if it was me maybe I will be destroy half of the world before im satisfied hahahahaha”

“…” once again tear began fall in her ceek but ray wipe it with his hand

“okey lets get this done and don’t cry anymore promise me”

“… alright young master” because Olivia sit behind her voice can be hear very clear to him and her act by placing his head behind his back really make his heart begin to beat

‘it seems this youth body really make my thought a lot more young eh’ it has been so long and even he already forgot or maybe not how long has it been for him to be captive by someone heart just as the first time he meet a woman who become his wife and his queen, in his lifetime he meet many beautiful woman in all age, even a beautiful flower cant melt his heart.

This is Vin Mountain range, there a big mountain at the center of this all they said a mythical beast sleep there that hunt someone but not many belive the rumor because its never been prove or one don’t really ever see it,

“this is really annoying to search something to hunt” because ray really never want meaningless death even for him to kill something not really a happy thing to do

“but maybe it is not a hard thing to do for young master” Olivia said after she hear ray grumbling but she don’t know what he meant

“ahh you got it wrong Olivia, im not say I cant hunt it but I just don’t wanna hunt it actually but then again live it is really hard and we must do something to move forward”

“… sorry I don’t understand what it meant”

“hummm… how can I said it, ah just forget what I said because I can see a lone Ursa there “ ray then jump down from guts and began walk slowly to his target

Ursa is C class animal its average height is two meter tall but there many case where an old one can get really big with four meter tall and more than one tons in weight,

‘hahhhhhhh… I will get this over with a single stab with my sword then’

ray got his sword usheathe and run in lighning fast step if one see it, before the bear even can react he trust his sword to its chest just once and swing it in the air one time to make the blood out of the sword before sheathe it again

Just in ten second after he walk from guts the big bear already down, this act make even Olivia who always with him for sometimes now don’t belive it with her eye, she already see many extraordinary thing with her eye but ray do it with just his pure physical ability

“just as I said Olivia, its to boring to hunt because I will do it so fast that the challenge cant even entertain me for more than a second or just a few minute”

"but young master it is not possible by some people and they are a C rank monster people even avoid but you just defeate it in instant"

"so then why dont we hunt some more because we already come far from city olivia?" ray just say what he want to say and ignore her remark

then ray and olivia hunt for three days there and because they had anything they need in magical bag they dont really had missing anything, the good thing is ray can harvest much more a good dear meat, many amount of forest fruit, a big quantity of river fish, and lastly mountain herb.

but his happy and easy going lifestyle suddenly change with a sudden arrival of 'Guest'
