《Infinity》Chapter 27

I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of Wrang. I was in the docking bay as the Owl class shuttle arrived. My old friend stepped off, and we gave a huge bro hug.
“How have you been? It’s been a while.” I said to my friend as he put down his bag. In the background the shuttle began to get more passengers to return them to Infinity.
“Well, I’ve been good, got a few technologies that are gonna be prototype-tested on Golon, but I’m also here to pick up those samples you guys have from the Space Spectres.” He responded with a smile. He was the top techie for The Infinite Councils, and was doing a lot of sciency stuff. He was a smart dude, I could keep up pretty well with him when he was explaining stuff, but he had the best personality and attitude for it. My skills were better put elsewhere. “Anyway, give me the latest reports on the ships.”
“Well, they work really well. I’d like some sturdier and smarter torpedos, and if you could get me some energy shields I would be beyond grateful. Otherwise, no problems.” I told him.
“Well, lucky you, we figured out something other than scatter shields! They’re a bit of a work in progress, and very energy intensive, but will be pretty thick. It won’t be much, but you’ll be able to take a few fully charged hits from those Space Spectres before a total shield collapse. Don’t let it do that by the w-” He wasn’t able to finish his sentence before I choked him in a bear hug. “Let-go-of-me,” He wheezed.
“You have no idea how much money this is gonna save. We will be able to buy more materials, more upgrades to the station. Thank you, truly.” I said, letting go of him.

“You’re welcome. However, I’m serious on this. You let the shields overload, and it causes a feedback overload that has a good chance of frying it’s batteries. If it overloads too much, maybe even the entire ship.” He said solemnly.
“We’ll be careful then,” I returned. We bid our farewells after that. He did give me an information packet on some important things going down on Infinity, and urged me to read it as soon as I could. I went back to my quarters, unprepared for what was coming. I sat down in my quarters, and plugged the information packet into my datapad. I opened up the file, and read the contents. There had been a capture of a tower from the Hash’Yoth, done by The Giggam Republic, The Almani, and The Heiive Confederacy. This surprised me. As far as I knew, they were not equipped enough to deal with that. As I read the report further, I found out that they had been building a lot of armored vehicles. It was a mix of all of the members of that close-knit team. The Heiive had supplied the plasma laser main weapon, while the Almani had improved on it, and then the Giggam Republic supplied about half of the necessary materials, and built three-quarters of the war machines with their behemoth of an industry. I took in that knowledge, and just laid down. Then with a deep breath I moved on. Unsurprisingly, the Urolium Compact and Federation of Supremacy had totally collapsed, and many of the refugees were coming to the Infinite Councils, and our allies. There was some activity of a new government North of the Hash’Yoth, and the looked to be powerhouses. They were the Zekkromian Conquerers, and were quite powerful. They had set a ‘death mark’ on every other empire. They looked like they might be able to follow through with it too. The Juncathari, Hash’Yoth, and a small isolationist empire of enormous burrowing beetles named Gi’Koo were losing territory at startling rates. The Zekkromian appeared to be 9ft tall raptors. Not the birds, but the dinosaurs. They had these fins around their neck and on their back that appeared to be biological weapons that could control some sort of energy, and could make that very same energy into weapons. They worshipped suns and were incredibly xenophobic. I was about to look at what else the information packet had in it, before something stopped me in my tracks. We weren’t the only space-dwellers. There had been a fight discovered between them and some Space Spectres. They had already established a foothold in space. On top of that, plans had been discovered from the Juncathari to get into space as well.

“Guess we don’t have a monopoly on space anymore.” I sighed. “This is going to cause a hell of a lot of problems. Whatever, everyone knew we wouldn’t be the lords of space forever. Better get ready to kick some of that scaly ass.”

Anasthese attends Rei's funeral as a last rite before setting off for Japan, bound towards the disintegrating Futenma Shintenkan Highschool chessclub, of which there are only two members left: Mukuro and Net. She has to see it with her own eyes, a playstyle that Rei lost to... And as Anasthese stays for the long-term, various misadventures are started at Futenma High, including rebuildung the club, Anasthese's "Royal Guards" (four girls dedicated to serving Anasthese and helping challenge Rei) coming to take her back to America, and unexpected guests gracing the local Sports Meet chess scene. The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
