《Unraveling Secrets》Chapter 34: Awakening

Kan arrived in his house and saw “Kan” speaking with both Claire and Clive. From the contents of their speech Kan concluded that “Kan” had told them about how multiple groups would attack the village. Clive and Claire reassured “Kan” that they had set up traps to take care of the two groups that were about to attack. They were confident that they could handle whatever was coming towards them.
The same events played out and the lighting and alarms went off while the demands came in. Once again the demands were the same but now there was another group with them. This time it wasn’t only the beast tamers and the black clothed men, there were also the beastmen.
Clive grabbed “Kan” and ran towards Jane’s house while Claire also ran towards one of the groups. The same events played out and “Kan” was now with Jane but this time Kan did not follow Clive but followed Jane.
Jane and “Kan” were initially hiding in the clinic but a beastman broke in so they had to run away. Jane held “Kan” in her arms as she dashed through the broken door. While she ran the claw of the beastman stretched out and clawed at her back. Her back was now bleeding but she did not care about it. She was entrusted with the protection of “Kan” so she was going to protect him with all she had.
Jane ran and ran but the same beastman that had broken through the clinic chased her down. Jane had tried to weave around houses to lose the beastman but beastmen were excellent at tracking down their prey so Jan could only keep on running.
Jane was starting to become exhausted, she had been running at her top speed for about 30 minutes and it was now taking a toll on her body. Her breathe became ragged and her speed slowed dramatically. The beastman was fastly approaching her and Jane was losing hope.

“Kan if it comes to it, run away all by yourself ok. Aunty Jane will protect you so just keep on running and don’t look back.”
“No! I can’t leave you behind Aunty Jane. I will save you.”
Jane tripped on a rock and had fallen down with “Kan”. Jane got up and saw that the beastman was quickly approaching so she decided to charge towards it. Jane did not care if she lived this or not. It was all a desperate attempt to delay the beastman so “Kan” could have more time to escape.
“Kan” also got up and saw that Jane was running towards the beast but he did run away. He got up and grabbed a large rock. He ran towards the side so Jane wouldn’t be blocking his path towards the beastman. He aimed the rock and then unlocked 10% of his strength in his right arm. 10% was going beyond his current limits because his actually limit was only 5%. The rock flew and struck the beastman directly in the head since it was distracted with Jane. The beastman did not die but it was knocked.
“Haahaahaa.”
“Let’s go Aunty Jane.”
Jane’s body was starting to give up on her. She was too exhausted to move so the only thing “Kan” could do for her was carry her on his small back. “Kan” could no longer move his right arm so he could only hold on to Jane with his left hand so Jane wouldn’t fall off his back.
Although it wasn’t the most comfortable position and her legs were dragging on the ground, Jane still appreciated “Kan’s” efforts.
“Kan” ran and ran but they were still within the village where all the carnage was still happening. Kan was getting more and more exhausted by the moment and the only building he could see right now was the alarm tower. This tower was closer towards the edge of the village on a small hill where it could oversee the entire village and its surroundings.

“Kan, i’m ok now so i’ll carry you.”
“Kan” couldn’t even reply back before Jane picked him up. Jane wasn’t really ok at all but she felt that Kan was nearing his limits and she had rested up for a bit. In that moment where Jane had switched position a roar could be heard right behind. Three beastmen were only 500 feet away from them and considering that they were beastmen, they would arrive towards them in seconds.
Jane began running towards the alarm tower and the beastmen had saw them and ran towards them. As they were about to open the door to the tower, somebody came out of it.
“Nicole!?”
“Jane!?”
Jane and the woman, Nicole, knew each other. They both stared at each other for a moment before Nicole realized the predicament both of them were in. She saw the three beastmen right behind them so she killed them. All Jane saw was that Nicole had flicked her hand and the three beastmen collapsed.
“Those dumb beastmen can’t follow a single order.”
Jane looked at Nicole in confusion at her words and for her being there.
“What are you doing here Nicole? Well it doesn’t matter. Let’s run Nicole.”
Jane had gone out to grab Nicole’s hand and urge her to run away from the village but Nicole avoided her.
“What’s wrong Nicole, we have to run.”
“Uh, it’s nothing Jane. I actually came here to help the village out. You go on ahead with Kan and i’ll catch up later.”
“No! You have to go with us. You are always reckless like this and that is why you were injured when I had found you.”
“It’s fine Jane, really. I wouldn’t come only to something like this. I came with reinforcement and they will arrive in a bit so go on ahead first.”
“Ok.”
Jane reluctantly agree to Nicole’s request and left towards the forest. Nicole stood there looking towards Jane’s back as she ran away. The look in her eyes were one of sadness and guilt.
“I’m sorry I lied to you Jane. I didn’t expect to ever meet you or that little boy ever again but I only came here to help out two people. Everyone else will have to die.”
A ruthless coldness appeared in her eyes as she had already condemned everyone else in the village to death. She only came here to help two people and everyone else she did not care about at all. To her everyone else was the same as worthless ants on the ground.
As Nicole talked to herself, Kan looked at her and a thought popped into his head.
‘That voice, it’s that black clothed lady I met the other day. Nicole? That name was also mention by those voices.’
While Kan was in thought while a flash of light covered the world once again. The bright flash of light had happened the exact same time as Nicole started to walk down the road towards the plaza square.
In the next moment Kan had believed that he would once again wake up again in that eerie darkness but he didn’t. He had awoken to the sunlight glaring down onto his face and as he opened his eyes he was once again surprised at the faces of his parents staring at him in worry. He could see the tears streaming down the side of their face and the joyous expression plastered onto their faces. He had escaped the darkness.

Eleknar's Heir, The Infernal Prince (Demonic LitRPG)
A LitRPG and Epic Fantasy adventure: The son of a mafia boss finds himself abruptly plunged into an alternate world where he must find a way to survive the horrors of a realm called Oblivion, make pacts with demons, form unnatural friendships, and figure out what the hell is going on – all while dealing with the depressing reality of his past. An artificial intelligence has ascended into godhood and has thrown Trey’s home into Chaos, pulling millions of people into an enchanted new life... or, in Trey's case, a violent nightmare. As far as he can tell, he is locked into what the system prompts call a ‘Death Game.’ Here, artificial reality is manufactured for the enjoyment of a being called the All Spirit, and he has a very real chance of truly dying. Just how real is this place though? Is it merely a simulation, a realistic game of life and death… or is it something much more? Elves, dwarves, undead, and other races only thought to exist in fairy tales are now a reality. Black magics, pantheons of gods at odds with one another, predatory symbiotes, and an unholy calling, the significance of which he has yet to grasp, are all entangled with his fate. ============================================ ============================================ Some things to expect when reading this book series: - Brutal storyline where no character is safe and choices have real consequences. Heavy on action, survival, and adventure - An isekai. The main character struggles to find himself, repeatedly crossing the line between good and evil as other important characters influence his life - Harem (explicit), though this only starts about 180k words in. - Good amounts of crafting, town building, and guild building later on - Good amounts of fantasy-related LitRPG stats, rank ups, and evolutions. Heavy focus on demons and black magics - There will be many points of view, but there is only one primary/main character that takes up 90% of the POV - A long storyline. Currently (as of 7/26/2021) I have about 1500k words written, though much of it will have to be heavily edited and re-written. I also plan to go far beyond 1500k words if people like the story (A lot of it is also in the 'backstories' book that explores the guildmates, the link is below) - Chapters will have an average of about 4k-5k words, a little longer than most other books on RR, though there will be exceptions for more and less. I just didn't like posting chapters that didn't feel complete, and 2k words often felt like too little. - If you like super-heroic and goody-goody characters, this story is not for you. ***Updated once a week***
