Train their mana veins and channels in order to use the mana of the atmosphere, warriors train their veins and mages their channels by doing this they expand their channels and veins, they are divide into 3 parts:

After these they form their core and Awaken into a higher being.

Once done this they use their affinities to cleanse the core getting rid of impurities and this point the core will gain a glow depending to the element they are training, most of them do so, after all they progress faster.

By creation and planting a mana seed into their cores, they evolve once more, depending on their affinities and abilities.

Sprout the seed (point where you have officially stepped into the realm)

Nourish the seed

Grow the trunk

Extend the Branches

Touch the Heavens

Ascension

Connect to the heavens

Achieve Divinity

This is the road of mortal to ascension, later i will explain the rest, and they are the steps that normal warriors go through, but our mc comes from a world that is more experience than these, so his cultivation is going to be a little different as it use of energy, a little spoil so you guys can wreck you brains off, we all know the importance of foundation, ok that’s it XD.
