《Agartha (hiatus)》Chapter 16 - Stupid Octopus

“I think we have reached the place. Ivan i think you may have to bring our ride away and come back in about an hour to collect the bodies.”
“1 hour? Are you sure you can take care of them in 1 hour?”
“Make it 2 then. I can handle them with and i think. I do not think will take care of the job.”
“ i will be 3 minutes away all you need is just make the call and i will be there in under 1 if i rush over without the ride.
“Ok see you in 2 hours.”
With that, as Ivan was leaving, i began formulating the plan of assault.
After setting up some traps just to make things easier, i began my assault. Climbing up one of the trees, i wrapped some vines around myself to anchor myself on the tree. Next i began spewing vines all over the steel tipped.
Even though they are called octopus, they do not live in water, they are tree climbers. They would cling on trees and attack anything that passes below them. They would spin like flying guillotine from the sky and latch on a person’s head and cut it off. From each head they cut they lay an egg into it and that would grow into a new steel tipped.for a nest of about 40, it would mean about 40 lives were lost.
Knowing all that, i also sent out human shape vines to the ground for them to target.
After trapping the 3rd one, i realise that i could not kill them. My offensive ability was too low to crush their skull. Knowing that flaw, i really hope to up my offensive ability with the core from them.
I began looking around for something that would kill them. After weaving between the octopuses for over 10 minutes as they dived all around me attempting to take my head off, i realized one thing. There is one thing as hard as their head, their head. Smashing their head on to each other head was the next best thing i could do. With that added into my how to kill list, i began smashing the heads together. But their heads were to hard to crack still. In the end i began swinging them towards each other. Like weighted chains, the centrifugal force did what it was meant to do a couple of swings. The heads began cracking and they started dying.

*screech*
“Ahh so the king finally appears… 18 and 1 king to go”
Using the same tactic as previous i started smashing the heads of the captured octopuses into the king octopus.
*crack*
*crack*
*crack*
Damnit. Looks like i need more speed. The king is a tier 3 high lower if not middle tier 3 and his skull is a tough nut to crack i can’t even wrap my vine around it fast enough to bind it either. Looks like this will take a little longer than 1 hour.
After smashing 8 more octopus into the king there was still no dents.
8 down 11 more to go. I am running out of heads to smash. Just what kind of head was used to give birth to it. It is really annoying to not be able to punch through that thick skull of it. Looks like there is no choice to it. I have to take out all the rest first.
As time ticked on, it finally became a 1 on 1. Me versus the king. As the tentacles whipped about as it spins, i could feel as if the air itself was cut.
It was not fun feeling those close shave when the tentacle miss you by inches. I cant grab it because it keeps breaking out and it cant kill me because i keep pulling myself away using the vines as arms and legs.
AN: just imagine doc octopus
Counting off the time, in about 10 minutes or so i will be seeing Ivan again most likely. I need to finish fast.
Since quality did not work, it is time for quantity.
Sending about 5% of my spirit energy all at once, i generated numerous amount of vines and simply piled on it. Crude and simple. All that is left is to wait until it suffocate. I could feel the vines breaking and creaking still. With the passing of time, i can still feel it struggle but it is getting weaker. By the time Ivan arrives, it should be just about too weak to move but it may be still alove and may still escape. It is better to play save and keep it wrapped up even after until i can find someone who can kill the octopus or make sure it is dead.

Once i get back i need to demand compensation from that mayor. He did not put a restriction on the request. The king is a middle tier 3 and not a lower tier 3. A middle tier 3 would require a team or someone who is tier 3 for the hunt.
Ivan arrived moments later to the well kept clearing made from the fight.
“Not bad kid. 40? Or more?”
“42 and a middle tier 3 king that i am not sure if it is dead or not.”
“Middle tier 3 king? Did it escape? Or is that well wrapped thing on the floor there it?”
“That little gift-wrapped is still alive i think. Weakened but still alive i think. I have not checked.”
“Then check it. You are a spirit master right? There is that spirit attack thingy that i know you guys can do right?”
“Wait how did you know?”
“I heard from Amy. She accidentally let slip to me on one of our trips out. 3 years ago after you collapse back then. And don’t worry. I told no one. Not even my brother. Back to the main topic, the spirit attack thingy?”
“Arg……. damnit…… i forgot. One moment.”
Looking at that gift-wrapped king I began sending waves of spirit into it, attacking its mind. Barely a moment it is dead.
So much for having so much trouble killing this when all i needed to do was use spirit. Facing off the other kids and not using my powers as a spirit master when facing them made me forgot about that i have it. It made me forget that this is the real world and there is no need to hold back.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]

Apocalypse King: Progression System LitRPG
Hail, Apocalypse King! A LitRPG where the MC fights the System Apocalypse Invaders with military training, dark magic, and a Humanity, Fuck Yeah attitude! Hounded by trauma from combat and his childhood upbringing, Sergeant DeSean Solomon left the U.S. Marines and attends college alone. While at a house party, the world as DeSean knows it ends. All of humanity receives a System notification. Do you wish to be saved from the taint of chaos? A countdown starts. Time is of the essence. To say yes will transform you into a monstrous zealot controlled by a genocidal eldritch invader. To say no is to be marked for the slaughter and forced into a high-stakes and vicious survival game. Even with the introduction of system progression stats, magical powers, and contracts with otherworldly creatures, all signs point toward the earth and its people getting subjugated. Or suffering a worse fate. Unless DeSean has a say in it. When the end of the world comes knocking, it's not a hero or someone with a special bloodline that rises to the occasion. It's a slightly demented Marine Veteran who storms the breach, summoning demons, evoking dark magic, and using all of his military skills and System Skills to bring down the enemy. AK - The Alchemy Kingdom
Karl always wanted to be a Mage. He was born in the Serion Kingdom, a fully pledged magic Kingdom. Seems like a perfect match, right? Unfortunately, no. He's just a commoner, working endlessly to maintaining the lifestyle of Mages. On his 15th birthday, his last chance to escape from a miserable life was destroyed when he was deemed to have no magic potential. For thousands of Serion's citizens that would be the end of their dreams. But how could this story be any fun, ending like that? Follow Karl and his friends while they tried to fight against the Kingdom's oppression. Will the system bend them to submission or will they break the chains of destiny? Spoiler alert: After thousands of years, an ancient Magic system will be reborn in the small Caiset village. What should you expect? - Kingdom Building: For sure! The heavy lifting will come later, I promise! Foundation is important, please be patient; - Epic battles: A Kingdom is not built without war and conflict. Who doesn't like good fights? Let's bring some excitement to this novel!; - Multiple leading characters: Karl convinced them to get on the bus, but this is a very long trip and everyone will need to drive a little; - Scientific Magic System: Especially Alchemy! I'm in no way trying to take the fantasy out of Magic. I just feel like trying to do something more logical. I'll probably stumble on a fine line, but I’m counting on you to keep me on track!; - World Building: I’m using some basic concepts from traditional Fantasy Worlds and trying to add some nice touches to make it unique; - Fun?: I'll try to insert some humor into the story, but that’s an experience we will go through together. Other points I find important: Alchemy is mostly crafting magic tools, but it will go a little further down the road. Even if you don't like crafting, weapon enhancing and whatnot, don’t give up on the novel. You might be surprised about Alchemy's reach later. Also, other types of Magic will play an important role here, just not the leading role. ......... Check out my two spin-off novels, Merchant Queen and Harbinger of Death! Both are independent novels, but with the same world setting... Maybe some crossover later... Either way, you can check them to get additional information on worldbuilding and hidden plots... Please leave a comment! If you want to help me more, support me on Patreon. I'm always trying to come up with new ways for you to participate in this journey.
