《In a new world, so lets go it alone!》chapter- 7 boars and bears

I wake up and put on a new pair of clothes, and pack up the sleeping bag. I eat two of my kababs and drink a large amount of water from the stream. And after stretching I start walking deeper into the forest. The amount of light that was able to breach the trees was getting notably less and less as I walked, but my eyes were adjusting too so I could still see clearly. I was just about to take a break when a boar rushes out of the bushes at a high speed. Instantly I realize its weakness and I side step its attack.

Striped boar
Level 3
It did indeed have a large long stripe going down its side. And if I had to describe its fur color it would be a dark brown with the strip being even darker at an almost black coloring. It had two large tusks jutting out of its mouth, they looked sharp most definitely able to draw blood if it were to land an attack, an idea I had no intention of letting it do. It charges again, and again I sidestep, but unlike last time I kick its side, the boar wasn’t sent flying like I had hoped, but from what I felt with my foot I most definitely broke a few ribs. I turn to the boar and glare at it. the boar was angry so much in fact that its eyes had gone full red. It charged again, but I think it might have used a skill because it was faster, a lot faster. It was so fast I wouldn’t be able to dodge it in time, but I wasn’t planning to anyway, so it didn’t matter. As it was speeding towards me, I lean forwards, digging my left foot in the ground as hard as I could, then I raise my right foot to stomp the boar in the forehead. It must have taken it as a challenge because it charged faster, but I don’t back down. But right before it got to me I lean far back leaning on the tree that was behind me, you see I positioned myself in front of a tree for this purpose. I then angle my foot towards the boar's head, raising my other one to go next to my right one, at the last moment. The boar charged right into my feet, the force was so strong my legs folded in and my but hit the ground. But the boar got it worse. It was lying on its side most likely unconscious. I walk up to it and using one foot to hold one tusk to the ground, I pull the other tusk out, it didn’t come out at first, but after a moment I heard a cracking sound and it broke off. The pain must have woken up the boar, because raised its head, knocking me off balance and on the ground, or more specifically on my back. I quickly roll to my knees. And see the boar charging at me, it was so close I wasn’t able to do anything. But it was close so the force was only enough to pierce halfway into my calf. Roaring in pain I bring the tusk I had grabbed earlier through its eye into its brain killing it. This was confirmed by the pop-up

I got a shirt from my backpack and cut it with my knife, using the strips as makeshift bandages, I then just lie there for a moment checking my status

I lost a small amount, but it seems it hit an artery because the bleeding lowered my regen by two. Though because of the recovery skill, the bleeding did pretty much nothing to me. At least I was about to take a break so I guess I'm resting for… an hour and a half.
I spent the time waiting for my leg to heal practising my mana flow, it was also pretty dark around so I had an idea, in most fantasy things when you put mana in your eyes, so what if instead of just flowing mana through my eyes, I infuse it into my eyes, and that's what I do

-long
-night
5/mp per type per minute
Cool, I activate night, and immediately it looked a lot brighter, though the color faded a bit, making everything look a little gray, though this would be immensely helpful because I could now see everything much clearer. I then use long and it made me see everything twice as large, and I must say it was weird, I could still see everything I could before but at the same time it was all twice as big, in fact after a moment I started getting a headache from all the info, it was a small one so I could easily ignore it. I deactivated them both since it was still bright enough that night didn’t help all that much and long wasn’t the best to have twenty-four seven, that and I didn’t want to waste mana, speaking of which, I forgot I could use mana bolt in the fight with the boar. It would have helped immensely if I could have used it. But no use worrying over the past. So I go back to meditating until my leg was healed.
I decided to not take the boar because I was running out of space and didn’t want to get too laid down. So I stand back up, leg a bit sorer now than when I was walking before, but that's irrelevant, and I start walking again. I met another boar while walking but this time I remembered I had magic and with a ten mana, mana bolt it died. But eventually I came across a sword in a giant stone, just kidding! The rest of the day was boar-ing! Get it cause I only met a few more boars, the rest of the day… get it? Yeah I met three more boars, and three more mana bolts and they were dead.

It was the next day, I got out from my hiding place for the night and start trekking again. It was about two boars later that I met something new a bear. It was large and brown with gray spots. It looked terrifying. Yes, the bear itself looked scary, but the blood on its lips from the boar's guts it was eating. I almost barfed, but holding it down I muttered as quietly as possible
“Identify monster”
Grizzled bear
Level 8
I calm myself, it’s level eight, a level five wolf is the highest I've ever faced. I quietly raised my arm towards it. How much mana should I use? I ponder for a moment before using fifty, a bit causes I know but I don’t want to die. I launch the mana bolt, but I forgot about knock back because I was sent backward slamming into a tree before slumping to the ground on my side.
Sadly there was another bear, it seems the one from before had a mate, I quickly raise my arm again and launch another fifty mana, mana bolt. This wasn’t the best idea because I am slid across the ground on my side, my body was sore, but the worst pain was from my entire right side, the skin was ground off from my body and blood was pouring out onto the ground. There wasn’t much I could do to stop the bleeding, but what I could do was look at my stats

Twenty health from just sliding? Ouch. I sit in pain before standing up, mainly leaning on my left leg. Hobbling over I get a bit into the clearing. I see the corpses of the bears, and threw up, luckily not onto my hurt leg. Their heads were gone, and by gone I mean scattered around the clearing, brains here, skull there. The one I shot from the ground was also missing its shoulder, most likely where I had hit it, compared from the first which I hit in the head. But I knew what I had to do. I hobbled away from the scene if another bear were to see that I would be dead, so after getting about twenty feet from the bears I climb into a tree, with much difficulty, and sleep in it.
I wake and immediately I check my status.

I felt as good a new, though the skin on my right side was a little sensitive, speaking of which, I change into a new set of clothes, my old shirt and pants missing a right side. I then checked my log. Other than the xp gain messages it also seems mana bolt, recovery, and hard skin leveled one each. Speaking of leveling. I had leveled up. Which I preceded to do, then I divided my five stat points..

As you can see I put one in agi and two in int and wis. But five hundred? That's so many! After eating and drinking my rations to refresh myself. I decided to meditate until I go to sleep since it was almost night. And that's what I did, I meditated and then I slept through the night. The next day was spent walking and killing one bear. This time I only used thirty mana. But it still was killed.

Garion Greensleeves always was an oddity. The first son of High-Wizard Garius Greensleeves and Adricor, a Noble woman of well renown, he would of stood to inherit much. However, on the night of his first full moon, as a baby he disappeared from his cot. His parents, after much frantic searching, found the babe crying in a small clearing of trees, a large feline creature pacing defensively around him, the bloodied corpse of a fox resting at its feet. As the parents approached, the beast transformed into a small owl and flew around the clearing before perching on a low branch of a tree nearby. From this moment on Garion's fate had been decided. Only those with magical blood could be capable of calling out to such a being as this. As Garion grew older, the transforming creature remained by his side. Wizards from all the continents visited the glade to see the child who had bound a familiar to his will as a babe. At age seven, Garion left his home glade and travelled the world studying to become a recognised guilded wizard. After many years he was granted the title of Wizard and was sent forth to advise, learn and ponder on behalf of the guild. After a while, Garion was assigned to a small nation within the vast continent mainly populated by man-folk known as The Patchwork kingdoms.
