"Ruaaaaaaaaaagh!!! *huffs and puffs* Cruaaaaaghhh AAAaaaahhhh!!! *rips off skin and darkness acumulates on the open skin* Kriiiaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!*Falls atop some bones and lay's there*."(Jerry)
The one shrieking in pain, and ripping its skin off as darkness centered around it was Jerry. It has been exactly 1 month since his untimely demise and transformation into an undead. However currently something was happening to Jerry, as an undead he could feel neither pain or emotions other than hate or hunger, the fact that he was shrieking in pain surprised him, and some undead which were near. During the month that he'd been dead Jerry had layed waste to 4 other villages alongside his horde asidd from the first one they'd destroyed. Because of those attacks their numbers had swollen to a point were a proper raiding team would be needed to take care of the horde of undead that currently inhabited the Forgotten Vale. Actually before Jerry's shrieking a raid team had been formed to attack and decimate all of the undead in the Vale, it was filled with 2 C-class parties, 4 D-class, 1 E-class. They were formed in a hurry due to the amount of money that had been offered 1,500 gold pieces it was enough to warrant importance on the matter which it did. However the team was not expecting former adventurers with undead strength to be the monsters they were to fight, even with lowered intellect and slowed movement speed the numbers they possessed gained them the favor of the battle and this lead to the extermination of a large group of adventurers. And at that moment was exactly when the darkness touched Jerry once again this signaled something new for the undead as this was one thing that none of them had experienced yet, it meant a change was happening as the darkness quickly mutated what Jerry's existence was, it was an Undead Rank-up.

"You have served well young one. You may not remember me but I remember you all your actions have allowed you to ascend further into undeath, to think that a candidate for ruler of death would come so soon, and for it to be you I certainly did not expect that."(???)
"Hmmm, I can think more clearly, how long has it been since I could think clearly. You Bodyless one, tell me where am I and why have you stopped my hatred?"(Jerry)
"Hahaha, your hatred will always be with you but your ascension has granted you lost intellect. You are now the true leader of the horde that follows you."(???)
"Ah yes those of my kind whom would've been killed had I not been present, I don't really care much for them."(Jerry)
"Correct even so they do your bidding and respect your strength. And now your strength has been doubled, you will regain much of the intellect you've lost and the powers of the darkness shall empower your every move, in due time you will encounter their usefulness and grow to appreciate them, so until then I leave you with my blessing."(???)
"Tell me your name Bodyless one."(Jerry)
"It is not yet time..."(???)
---------------------------------------------------------
"RROOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRR!!!!"(Jerry)
After a visit to that world of pure emptiness, Jerry broke out of the darkness that wrapped him, he emerged from it and his appearance was completely different. His eaten flesh had been rewound and seemed healed, no wound was visibly present. His skin had turned sickly pale, he had grown to a height of eight feet, and any feature that could have identified him as a human was gone, he looked like a monster in all aspects. His once feminine face now looked like a wrinkly oval stone, eyes as black as the void, and where his nose should be layed oddly shaped holes, his ears were gone replaced by more odd holes, and a mouth filled with jagged razor sharp teeth and a large slightly purple tongue, the rest of his skin also shared the wrinkles of his head with his elongated limbs having lost all forms that could depict muscles, his fingers and toes became longer with the appearance of bones covered with skin and sharp claws about 3 inches capable of entering an animals hide with ease. The hair that once grew on his head was mostly gone and what was left looked decrepit almost like a person dying from a disease.

Jerry remained in his thoughts as he sat with his knees upwards and his posterior on the floor much like an beast. The amount of thoughts that entered his mind after changing were uncountable for his degraded undead mind. This gained knowledge and wisdom was something that overwhelmed him for a while until he manged to recollect himself.
"I've grown quite much it seems, those adventurers did a fine job as my food. I feel empowered by the darkness within me almost like if nothing in this world could stop me hahahahaha."(Jerry)
"Ruaaaaaaaaaagh."(Undead)
(I challenge you for rule over this horde.)
"Hmmm, well this is strange I thought most undead relied on instinct but it seems that few of us actually have enough intelligence to form a hierarchy, then this means I wasn't anything special just an undead who had sufficient intelligence, hmmm. Now that I think about it you're the one who never followed what I said or even responded to threats. This means that you now recognize that I'm the leader officially since your challenging me.*puts on a thinking pose with his hand and scratches his chin with a claw*"(Jerry)
"ARGH RAAAH."(Monster)
(You no rule over me I shall consume you and lead these weaklings.)
"Oh rebellious I see, *Slashes his skull with one of his nails*. Anyone else, anyone, no, well good. I must conduct more research on the matter of my kind. You over there bring that corpse."(Jerry)
"Arh!"(Undead 2)
(Yes)*He responds and brings the corpse over as quickly as he can.*
"Very good, I feel strength within you, you might be useful, here put this things on yourself can you do that *He says handing him a full set of armor plate* As of now you respond to Brogi do you hear me Brogi."(Jerry)
"Arh raagh braar."(Brogi)
(Yes, name Brogi)*He puts on the suit of armor and despite being slightly encumbered by the plates they provide support allowing him to stand up better*
"Good, now Brogi can you move your hands and fingers?"(Jerry)
"caaarr."(Brogi)
(This one can)
"Good, pick up that sword. And let me see you swing it."(Jerry)
At this point Brogi went on to pick up the two handed blade with one hand. The undead could hold it but wielding it as smoothly as an adventurer was out of the question. Jerry saw how uncoordinated the attacks of the undead were, slow and easily counterable, the attacks would barely scratch an adventurer who could rely on his agility to block or dodge any of these attacks however he simply motioned for Brogi to keep on swinging and swinging.
"Listen to me Brogi as of now you do everything I say, until I say stop, you will not stop swinging that sword do you hear me."(Jerry)
*Brogi nods his head.*
"Good now keep on swinging."(Jerry)
As Jerry walked off he said similar things to various other undeads that walked around the Vale. 'I tried doing it before my first rank-up but they seem to understand and follow me more obediently now'. When he grew tired of doing that he merely went to the top of a tree with ease thanks to his new found agility and claws, there he saw a Fullmoon, in it he saw no beauty or light simply a connection to it's loneliness. The connection did not last long as he fell to the ground to feed on some animals on the ground. He tested his limits by fighting everything he could encounter with the most challenging of them being a magical beast like serpent.

---------------------------------------------------------
Jerry's POV:
I was jumping from tree to tree hoping to test the limits of my new body. Animals weren't a challenge as I simply slashed at their neck or eyes to quickly end the battle and even if I didn't do that, with my strength snapping they're necks was easier then killing an undead. As I feasted on the corpse of a deer I heard cries that hurt my ears coming from somewhere. Following the cries, with each stride I took my ears hurt even more, and the closer I got to the sound the more anger welled up within me, like an inexplicable ocurrence I knew that whatever was causing this sound must be annihilated. And there it was lying on a rock before a waterfall was a serpent like being, probably between 14-20 feet long and 5 feet thick, a huge size for a snake but this one was obviously not an ordinary snake. From the bottom of my long gone stomach I knew that this creature served life, that it was an opposing force of what I represented, if I was darkness then this was the light that was trying to blind me. I was not going to have any of it, so I did the only thing naturally expected of me.
"ROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!"(Jerry)
"!"(Serpent)
"Enough with your cries you worm I have come to put and end to you!"(Jerry)
"Servant of the darkness leave now or be purified by the light you are not strong enough to kill me and there is a ceremony I must complete so I do not have the time to fight against you."(Serpent)
"There is no choice here, you will die by my claws ROAR!" (Jerry)
"So be it. Haaaaaaaaaahhhhhhmmm!"(Serpent)
With a cry from the serpent light flew from its mouth directly at me, I knew that the light would mean my destruction so I jumped up to a tree to avoid it and sure enough were it hit grass and plants grew 'As I thought it has positive life energy. The Darknesses information is good to me.' As it noticed I was not hit it quickly slithered its way towards me had I not ranked-up my death would have been met at the first strike the agility and intelligence boost are serving me good. I jumped from tree to tree evading the serpent's collision with the trees, up until I fell into a large grass patch which it could not locate me in, in truth I already knew that this beast was far too strong for me to kill, but the anger inside of me said I could not allow it to live. So in my mind I set myself the order not to die before killing it, that was my first and foremost goal during my hunt, because of that my destruction could not happen until after it's death. After it passed by the patch of grass in search of me I picked up a large rock and hurled it at the serpent. The one I hurled surprised the serpent and hit it in the back of its head, the serpent must've taken a huge hit as it fell to the ground and began bruising with a little blood coming out of it's wound I took the chance to attack it and attached myself to it's head biting and digging my nails into it. The serpent did not respond kindly to my attacks as it got up and thrashed around.
Despite having dug my nails deep into the skin of the head I was still sent flying crashing into a rock and then into the water, just like the serpent this lake probably held some connection to the light and began hurting me the longer I stayed in it.
"How dare you enter the sacred waters of the spirits impure one."(Serpent)
It screamed at me under water biting and chucking me outside of the water. It was a welcomed attack considering that the water hurt more then it's bite. Back outside of the water I ran to hide so that the serpent wouldn't know where to strike first, once it came out of the water it began speaking in grandiose.
"Were are you coward, is this all that the darkness can offer as a fight now."(Serpent)
"I don't know about that snake but do you normally speak so grand despite being an oversized worm."(Jerry)
"Tell me do you run around desecrating everything in your masters name you monster, If so then let this be your final act. Haaaaaaaaahhhhmm!"(Serpent)
'This snake is troubling' I thought as I looked at it firing away it's life energy. Once it stopped I took my chance to jump on it heads once more and hit it with the weight of a rock I'd pick up while hiding. It shrieked in pain due to the force of the strike, as it was strong enough to shatter the rock leaving a bigger bruise then the one before, I tried striking at it with my nails but was sent on my way again by the serpents quick reaction before I could even scratch it. My escape was blocked as it pinned me to a tree with it's tail. And it began saying-
"This is it dark one anything you wish to say before I cleanse your unholy existence."(Serpent)
"When I send you to the Void be sure to give the Bodyless one my regards *Smiles crookedly showing a devilish set of teeth*."(Jerry)
"Even the undead show arrogance after the wisdom of death has embraced them how sad, farewell monster, Haaa-aaaaaahhhhmmmmm!!!*Shoots the beam upwards while flailing in pain*."(Serpent)
"Aaahhhh monster what trickery have you done behind me. *gasps at the sight behind him* No, impossible the darkness has already spread to such lengths have I failed already. No, if kill you then the others will be simple enough, *Shrieks in pain from being impaled by a blade*."(Serpent)
"Cruaaaaaghhh!"(Brogi)
(Death to the worm!)
After being impaled by Brogi the serpent retreated with Brogi still attached to the sword stuck on the serpent which was trying to escape into the trees, only for it to be blocked by a large number of bow wielding undead who were shooting all of their arrows in an attempt to block it off, making matters even better, there were new additions to my undeads as skeletons filled with a core of dark energy powering their undead life force were shooting off arrows of their own. This blocked the escape of the serpent from either crawling up the trees or slithering through the forest, it looked at me, eyes filled with hate and I relished in its gaze. I motioned to the archers to stop.
"So this is how the darkness fights then, too weak to fight me alone so it brings an army how truly rat like of it."(Serpent)
"The battle was over the moment you decided to not run from me Serpent, when I first roared that was a call to my minions, it said," Come to me, for their is a worm we must crush." Weakness has nothing to do with it, the fact that your dead we're you stand is simply a testament to the truth of the battle. We're you expecting an unintelligent being to fight you, thinking that your enemy has no trick up his sleeve is the mentality of the weak. As such due to your own way of thinking I can only say that you were the weaker one, you overgrown worm. And let it be known that I had no intention of ever playing fair against you. A servant of life deserves nothing else but death, your very existence irritates me to no ends so know that I kill you simply because I despise you with all my being."(Jerry)
"I expected no mercy from you monster, haaaaaahhmmm!"(Serpent)
In a final act of desperation it launched another blast of life energy which I jumped away from although it still destroyed a couple of the undead behind me, I took the opportunity to land were Brogi was, still trying to pull out his sword. I threw him aside, pulling out his blade, thiscaused the serpent to scream again disrupting it's life attack and allowing my undead to start biting and clawing at it from it's lower body. Now being distracted by the attacks coming from the unarmed and archer undeads I jumped on its head again and said.
"This is your end worm, *as I stabbed the sword into it's brain*."(Jerry)
The snake fell to the ground, me still on top of its head and silence was given as none of my undead dared to growl or even moan.
"The worm Is Dead!!!"(Jerry)
"Aaaargh Cruaaaaaghhh raaaar."(The Fallen)
Roars and cheers broke out through the undead horde as they celebrated my victory and the wyrms defeat.
And so with its death, we The Fallen Undead feasted upon the flesh of the divine magical beast.

First and foremost, I must apologize as this story is currently on an indefinite hiatus. School, my main project, and writer's block have gotten in the way. I was rather unprepared when I began posting this and kind of just did it on a whim. Thus, I shall ensure I am thoroughly prepared before posting anything else, but I plan to return to this someday to conitnue it. What better retirement plan for a scumbag than to become a demon? Whether he likes it or not, that's Berrick's only choice. Heaven thinks hell is getting a little lukewarm and Berrick is just the guy to heat things up again. Follow Berrick as he works for home and hell as one of the few Egg Guardians. Author's note: Are you looking for bad writing, terrible dialogue, short chapters, and slow releases? Then you've come to the right place! This is honestly just something I'm writing for fun and figured I'd publish while I'm working on my main project, but I always appreciate constructive criticism so I can improve. Picture obtained on google.
