《The Games That Bind Us》Chapter 62 - Death's Tea Party

I start feeling the pull to consciousness, I can feel something else to it but I still don't understand it. I move on, waking up I notice Isabel has woken up but is just hugging me with her eyes shut. "Good morning Isabel" I say politely with a smile. she remains unmoving pretending to be asleep. I move my hands from hugging her to groping her and she wakes up quickly but she does not complain about it and instead just hugs me tightly and kisses me, I decide I can spare 5 minuets from putting up Paper Runes. sure enough she lets me have my fun for the 5 minuets however after that I really did need to start on Paper Runes so I stopped groping her and kissing her and got up to leave, she then got dressed and did the same,
"Thank you for last night" Isabel said to me with a smile and I looked at her with a smile.
"it is ok, and you don't need to worry about expecting a child, I prevented it paper" I said simply and she looked a little disappointed. I know a few things, I eventually have children, meaning I wont die until I have them at least, so I am going to push that line a bit and have a form of immortality, I know I wont die until then so why waste it?
"Love you John" Isabel said with a smiling face while kissing me and then she left, I began work on Paper Runes, I only had 23 days to finish preparations. at least I had some fun while making the highly complex Paper Runes.
(23 Days Later)
I woke up and sure enough Isabel was in my arms, she did not talk to me as much while I was making Paper Runes so I got everything complete in time, Isabel was pretending to be asleep again however I had to leave early today to protect Usara for the day, I Groped her slightly while kissing her. "I have to go now, saving your fathers life and all" I said simply and she nodded. I then used Blink Step and appeared right behind the king, interrupting the assassins blade of the person behind me.
"Good day your highness, I will now be guarding you" I said simply while the assassin was bound under a few million binding runes. he was not moving any time soon. I ordered all guards to take the day off, only I know the rules of the runes so they would just get in the way. Usara nodded with a happy smile.

"Ok then son in law, lead the way" Usara said and I let out a wry smile. Isabel you gullible chatter box. oh well, I surrounded him with 4 Paper Clones and left, they were commanded to do what ever the king said but one had to stay by his side at all times and make sure he did not die. however they were not my clones, they were his. all of them acted like he did, sounded like he did, the entire thing, all the guards were replaced by clones of the king and the guests were confused, but just walked in realising how difficult there task was. all the nobles wanted to secretly kill the king, however I was now the entire staff besides the other Court Staff such as the Court Guild Master and the Court Adviser however I had Paper Spiders on each of them so they did nothing wrong, if they did they would be bound instantly.
the guests stood in the main hall as they began to sit down with the Usara butlers walking around checking on the guests nobody knew who the real Usara was,
"GROOOOOO" oh look, that dragon I was looking forward to, I left the building and saw a dragon sure enough, took a second to kill as it was only a basic dragon but meh, better safe then sorry. I entered the building again and saw 32 of the 300 guests were bound and complaining the did nothing, however the poison in there hands was displayed for all to see.
"Hello, I am the Court Mage, I have made any attempt at murder impossible with billions of runes placed around the palace, so relax and enjoy the party, there is no getting past me so just accept it" I said simply as I created a Paper Usara next to me. everyone looked at me like I was evil, no, you came here to kill him for personal gain, damn nobles.
"OH, your the Lover Of The Princess" one of the people said with a smile and my pressure accidentally escaped me crushing everyone there but only for a moment.
"Oh sorry about that, I thought I heard you call me the Lover Of The Princess instead of Court Mage, must be my ears acting up. right?" I asked making a group of people around me nod. I then smiled and vanished into a cloud of paper using Blink Step, but it looked cool and that is all that mattered.

the party began and they all sat down, however I felt another dragon, I took a look and then got ready for a serious fight.
[Blue Mist Focused Ancient Dragon]
[Level 120,000,000,000]
[Death Of The Sky]
interesting, the dragon was small and focused but also very strong, I left my Dragon Blade at home so that is bad, I should have gotten that realising this sort of thing would have to happen to ME. it cant just go smoothly, oh no something has to go wrong right? I may as well test my Chakra Orbs and see what kind of damage they do at close range. I charge at the dragon and create the 4 Orbs and use them as a pure destructive force aimed at the dragon, I send one straight at the under belly and the result was devastating, the Chakra Orb went straight through the under belly the creating a hole you could see straight through, the dragon regenerated but it was a clear cut hole, I will have to test this further, I sent all 4 to reduce the dragon to nothingness but it kept avoiding, I removed my eyes of a barrier and then activated my left eye reducing it to nothing, I realised the dragons barrier was nor coming back for a moment after I used my Chakra Orbs, lucky that Blue Mist creatures are not that intelligent or it may have been a threat.
I returned to the party to find the King being stabbed, no wait that was a Paper Clone, wow they are getting desperate, almost all the nobles are bound in my runes. let me just take a moment to laugh at the fact Usara is still not even at the party yet, he is getting ready to make his speech from the balcony over looking the main hall. this would be a long day, oh, looks like Isabel cant tell the difference either and it shouting at one of my Paper clones demanding a response, I will have that one lead the way to her father and replace it, but she is not that bright is she?
"GROOOO...." I did not even lit that one finish its roar, come on, I am starting to feel sorry for the dragons now. I go to the main hall and put everyone in their seats since nobody is still standing, that just goes to show how desperate they were. foolish mortals. I then sit down at the back behind all to nobles who were forced to look at and listen to the king for a few hours of the speech. Isabel sat beside me and fell asleep on me after minuet. the speech is boring so I gave her that. after the speech there was one more hour of sitting bound in runes for the nobles before they were taken out of the palace and able to move again, I had 24/7 Paper Guards so nothing was getting past that, I then went back to my room and rested on my bed, that was a normal day for me, I was expecting everything to go wrong and explode in my face. oh well.
"John, the king wants to see you" Said one of the guards who had just returned. looks like it is 1 am, I look at the Blue Box.
[Quest Complete]
I get up and see the king who just gave me a key to the court library. I smiled and accepted it, but. "I will be heading to the 3 Fists Academy after I finish reading the books, it should take me an hour or so" I said simply and he smiled.
"Good, I will have Isabel join your class" Usara said but I shook my head. "I know she is weak but she has the voice powers of the king and queen, that is useful" Usara added and yea I have to admit it was helpful to me.
"ok then, I will take care of her" I said but Usara sent me a cheeky smile.
"Like you took care of her at night or how you prevented my death at the party?" Usara said however I shrugged my shoulders and he laughed. "Ok then, take her through your portal and leave, have 'fun'" Usara said with a smile. I just nodded my head and left for the library.

Chapter 63 - Fifth Chakra Gate

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them. Patricia Chandler- A elderly British woman who arrives in this new world with her grandson Kyle and her granddaughter Elizabeth. Never having dealt with rpg game mechanics before, she is in for a rough time, but she is determined to keep her grandkids alive in a world full of danger and evil. Jamil Mesbah- An Egyptian woman who once worked as a technical writer. Her path leads into a vast and hostile forest, where she must master both her magical abilities and her survival skills in order to succeed. Enjoy your travels, friends.
