《The Games That Bind Us》Chapter 42 - In The Void

I have been floating around the academy and town for a while now, I can't see any weaknesses that would be obvious, however I overheard one of the townsfolk say something about a tournament, the Academy is having a tournament and anyone can enter, there will be many people watching, and in the finals the Headmaster will come out of hiding and grace you with his presence, with him revealed I can knock him out causing this void to come undone. that will take a lot longer then a year to fix, I wonder what happens then? oh well, A Sleep Rune should knock him out well enough and if it doesn't there is the good old fashion way. Now... I will walk up and they will let me enter the tournament... that is how it works right?
"Halt, are you here for the tournament of for a fight?" Guard A said to me, yes, even criminals are accepted into the tournament as long as they are not murderers. I am clean as clean can be, unless I did something in Bloodlust? oh well.
"I am here for the tournament" I said, which is true, the winner also gets a skill book on Void powers. I am going to make that mine. or I would say, in this tournament there will be people from all academies as well, first a battle royal elimination round, to get 8 competitors for the main tournament. winner takes all if criminals loose they are arrested, winners get a 10 second head start for running off.
"ok, fill out the form over there, you acknowledged if you loose you will be arrested for crimes against the safety of the world" Guard A said to me, an academy keeps the peace, doing what I did could affect the safety of the world so the crime is major
"Sir, I would not be here if I didn't however the prize intrigues me" I said politely with a smile, Guard A then nodded and ignored me. I then walk up to the reception desk where a form appeared out of nowhere and this is how I filled it in.
Name: Origami
Power: Yes
Next Of Kin: N/A
Status: Criminal
Academy: N/A

I think putting yes next to power will make at least one person laugh, I do have power so it is the truth but putting Paper would just give the surprise away. or is it obvious? not many people have a paper dove mask and a suit do they?
"YOU!" I heard a familiar voice say to me as a wave of fire was sent at me. I blocked it with paper and saw Kate, Nina, Eron and Lilian all glaring at me. they have strong glares. "What are you doing here?" Kate asked me preparing another attack, I smiled as the guards stopped them,
"You cant fight him here, this is tournament conditions" Guard B said seriously to Kate who got angry
"But he is a criminal!" Lilian protested and the guards acknowledged I was indeed a criminal.
"and this is a tournament to prove strength, for this small amount of time nothing else matters, if he looses in the tournament he is arrested. if he wins he is given a 10 second head start. this void is a place of honour and wont be tainted by your actions" Guard C added with a hint of pride.
"But..." Lilian seamed adamant however so were the guards, I just walked off to the side and looked at the reception desk, the man there looked an my form with confusion before he sniggered
"Sun of a..."The receptionist said with a smirk while putting my form in a file. I am happy with my little stunt, I wait around for a voice to call out.
"The first Battle Royal will be containing all names on the screen above" The vice said and on the ceiling a bunch of names were shown, I saw Origami so I moved up however I also saw two names I knew. Lin Ren and 00391 The Cyborg. with this I scanned the crowd for the unstoppable monster but Kieran was not there, Michael was there along with a few others from the academy. Isaac is not there however I do see Victoria and Ruby, ruby is no fighter so maybe she is just here to support her partner. Prince Lavlus is here as well, he has the power of command, that may be difficult, I don't see his priest Paul however. hmm... oh well, with this I walk through the doors at the front of the room, I get a few glances however I ignore them, they don't matter yet. through the door was a true black void with a path lit up, at the end was a big glowing circle. as soon as everyone was on the circle the bridge vanished, there was most likely a lot of people watching, time to have some fun and fight a bit,

I see a big number 3 above us, it then moved to 2 and everyone got ready, on 1 they were about to move and on go half of the people in the ring were impaled by Lin. the ring was half a mile in size, they really wanted people to fight all out didn't they, the people who died vanished an repapered outside the ring alive. interesting, I really don't need to hold back do I? Summoning a few Paper Wolves I set them to kill anyone and everyone. when I entered the ring there was around 100 people, now there was 4 from Paper Wolves and Lin's Blades, me, Lin, 00391 and someone I had not met before, he was tall however he was not attacking Lin or 00391. using my senses I worked out he is part of 00391, a remote control robot.
"YOU!, hmm... who were you again?" Lin said to me and I felt a lot of people face palm all at once, the word Origami appeared over my head, "I haven't heard of you" Lin added
"it is ok, I didn't really do much" I said with an accepting face, I wonder if I am being modest? not really, all I did was destroy a Mana Orb and fight off a sensory type headmaster, I did not even fight Kate so I really did not do much.
"Interesting, oh well Origami is it, I will be killing you now so I can move on to the cyborg here" Lin said as 00391 sat down and Lin charged at me and I exploded into paper, reappearing behind her I smiled.
"Sorry my dear but if that is all you have got you cant win" I said with a smile while making a Paper Sword, she turned and swung her sword at me however I block with mine, she does not even scratch my sword.
"What? But it is just paper" Lin said to herself as I mad another Paper Blade in my other hand and stabbed her through the heart.
"It may be Paper but It is not to be takes so lightly" I said with a smile as she vanished. I turn to 00391 who was now standing up and charging an attack. "Paper Weight" I said simply and 00391 was crushed into the floor stopping her Laser, I am now at the point I could survive her laser. it was designed to go through Dragon Scales. I looked up and saw a 'you win' sign above my head. and I was moved to another waiting area, this time it looked like a true arena this time and not just a black void with a white circle, I see Kate in the distance, Eron is next to me, and Michael is after that. hmm. it looks like I will be fighting them in order of Eron then Michael then Kate. provided they win of course, I see Clark Teta as Michael's first opponent and Kate is Verod Dragonsbane. the remaining two that I could be fighting have nothing on Verod so I doubt I will be fighting them.
"Round 1, Kate White vs Verod Dragons Bane" Said a voice projected from in front of us, this should be interesting, the two fighters step up to the platform, it is a big round arena with a tiled floor, there is a possibility of a ring out so if Kate can push Verod to transform he wont fit in the ring. Eron would but Verod is way to big when transformed and Verod is a dragon slayer so he cant alter his hight like a dragon can. I wonder if Kate can win with Ice Magic or will Verod simply over power her? lets wait and see...
