Kate's Point Of View
John just left to go on a Dragon Slaying mission, I have the luxury of sitting around with nothing to do, I decide to stay at the Academy Of The Sky to ask them to analyse me. I was supposed to have a very strong ability of fire however it is lost to me. I hope maybe someone here could help me. Yuna went to the 3 Fists Academy with Nina Eron and Lilian, they seamed to be getting along. However right now I am waiting for results from testing. it takes a while to test to see the limits and barriers on a person.
"We are sorry for the wait, It looks like the ability you speak of is not one we can see inside of you, sorry" One of the staff said to me. oh well, it is getting late so I may as well head back.
"WARNING, THIS IS NOT A DRILL, EVACUATE THE PREMISES, THIS IS NOT A DRILL" some Magical Crystals were projecting throughout the Academy. what could this be? oh well, I start walking to the near by door that leads to the main hall of the academy, it is the fastest way out. as soon as I exit the room I feel something shoot straight through me. I look down and see a spear of paper going straight through my stomach. I fall backwards unable to move. what happened?
(20 Minuets earlier)
Johns Point Of View.
I walk through the town located 6500 meters away from the academy, in other words directly below it, the only way to enter the Academy Of The Sky is a teleporter chamber below it. I walk through the streets with my Paper Mask on and feel like I am being watched. Yuna really did tell them I would be coming didn't she. Makes my job easier. I walk towards the teleporter chamber and there are 2 guards there. checking with my gamer ability before hand these are both at the 10,000 mark, should be simple for me.
"Halt, what business do you have in this academy" Guard A asked me. I looked at him even though this mask has no eye holes. and smiled, the mask covers the upper half of the face and the lowest it goes it the beak of the bird that is just lower then my noes.
"I am here to enjoy the scenery and speak with a few people." I said politely. the guards looked at each other confused and then looked back to me with a wry smile.
"So...erm... do you have an appointment?" Guard B asked me wondering if it was there mistake. I shook my head.
"No I don't have an appointment however this is business that will decide the fate of your academy, I will be entering now" I said while walking past them, Guard A grabbed me however I exploded into pieces of paper... you see I had already entered the Academy however I made a Paper Golem with the same shape and weight as me walk up and talk to them. I read their stats page and they were blind, they relied on Mana Eyes to see. so they never could tell.
I walked out of the teleporter into the academy and saw the huge building. while being on it you would never guess it was so high in the air, a palace above the clouds. However I had little time. I walked forward at a slow casual pace. the students gave me curious gazes and so did a few of the teachers. the teachers that didn't already knew of my arrival and were being cautious. I walked into the main building where the Headmaster spent her time. there were a few other people there. some students speaking with the receptionist. the building was X shaped with an arched roof. it was lit up by blue flames on the walls. in the centre of the building was a big ball of Mana that you could see clearly from the buildings 3 floors. each floor was some classrooms and a balcony over looking the big ball of Mana. the Mana was a power source that could be used to see far off lands, and it kept the academy up in the air.

I stood next to the big ball of Mana and stared at it. it intern stared back at me, however the difference was I succeeded at gaining its knowledge and it failed miserably at gaining mine. I then felt a presences behind me. it was the Headmaster Zeo. "We have been expecting you, Would you care to come to my office Mr...?" Zeo said to me hoping I would answer with my name, I turned around at the old lady except she did not feel like a level 1... she was stronger... something was hidden inside of her. she had a limiter on...
"I would happily come to your office however we can talk here. and as for my name... I don't have one" I said simply, she looked at me confused, she could not tell a thing about me however she was calm all the same. this told me one thing. if she was so calm around the unknown, she would have to be confident in her strength even without senses. she was strong.
"...ok? so tell me. what did you come to see us about? a student called John told us about your visit and we assumed it was because of your Paper Power" Zeo said to me with a wry smile. I smiled back and turned around.
"It is about the Blue Mist, I have gotten word that there is a way to remove it however the task was hindered by you. I am just confirming suspicions." I said with a smile, drawing my hands from my pockets I had a small piece of paper. she looked at me like I was something of a threat... she has no Idea what I am capable of with this mask on.
"... we have tried ourselves to remove the blue mist, I can assure you we are not trying to hinder any attempts to stop the blue mist except from extremists who would try to kill millions in the process" Zeo said with a calm yet serious expression, the paper in my hand turned red. she was lying through her teeth, I did not even think that would work however this was interesting, I can use Paper like it was instinct. I like this mask.
"I am sorry to hear that. it looks like you are lying. I will be taking down your academy now" I said with a serious face as paper started to fall from the ceiling. she then looked at me seriously.
"there are students here, I CANT LET YOU!" Zeo said with a serious face. she dashed at me with very fast speeds however I was faster. I activated Paper Weightlessness and jumped to the ceiling, I did not fall down because I had paper shoes. I could now change their colour at will thanks to that Paper experiment, my suit went red for a moment and then black again, I think when I take my mask of I will have a lot of blue boxes to look at.
"I fear you don't have a choice. many more deaths will be caused by the Blue Mist being in existence any longer then it has to. You should see me as divine retribution. Or you could promice to change your mind, however I doubt you would follow though." I said as paper started falling from the ceiling, she looked on in horror as the paper started forming spears and shooting through the Mana Orb.
"STOP, you will be killing hundreds of students and teachers." Zeo said as she looked back up to me. I smiled as I looked from my perspective back up to her.

"And if you leave now, you could save them. you have the choice of fighting me. someone who can evade the sensory abilities of you as naturally as he can breath. or you can save your students, what is more important to you I wonder?" I said seriously. she then ran over to a Rune on the wall and activated it.
"WARNING, THIS IS NOT A DRILL, EVACUATE THE PREMISES, THIS IS NOT A DRILL" I heard being projected from every magical crystal node and rune in the academy. she then charged at me however fruitless it would be, I used Paper Shield, I realised something, the blue box did not say that it only gave the resistance to the shield, it just said it removed damage inflicted to the user, and sure enough I hardly felt Zeo's fist, I did however get sent flying back as I weigh the same as paper does with a speed increase of 50%, however I am not sure if is stronger with the Paper Mask on, it feels stronger, I feel faster, or is it just me?
"If it is your wish to fight take this" I said while forming a Paper Spear and throwing it, she avoided and someone I did not want to see was impaled by the Paper Spear. Kate looked down at the spear inside of her and then fell backwards onto the ground after coughing up some blood. I got the feeling she would survive the attack because of her Phoenix abilities so I ignored her. as much as it hurt me to do so I ignored her and dashed at Zeo. she threw a punch and I jumped onto her fist before jumping at the orb and using Paper Sword to slash through it. the Mana Orb was then sliced in two and I felt the hole Academy shake before it started to fall.
"You Monster" Zeo said to me while running to the orb. I thought job well done before I felt a surge of heat aimed at me and formed a wall of paper from ground just in time to block a powerful fire. Kate had used fire bolt on me and is was burning my paper into dust.
"You, who are you and why did you destroy the Mana Orb?" Kate asked me aggressively while getting ready to attack all out, nice job Kate, if you ever realise this is me you will kill me for stabbing you and regret trying to kill me.
"I am a masked man, I destroyed that orb to bring down the academy... any other questions my dear or are you waiting for your daddy to arrive and stop the big bad man?" I asked her and she shot multiple Ice Spikes at me, I blocked them with ease, It looks like I don't have my immunity to heat however I have a resistance to cold unlike before. silver lining?
"you bastard, You will pay for this" Kate said to me while casting Fire Bolt as fast as she could sending a wall of fire at me, I jumped the the wall to my left, then to the ceiling, then to the wall that would have been on the right, then I landed right behind Kate facing away from her.
"I don't have the money on me to pay for this, maybe I should write an IOU?" I said with a serious face making a rather obvious joke, she turned around and moved to attack me, I avoided by jumping to the ceiling and sent a few last Paper Spears into the Mana Orb causing it to explode, Zeo then looked at me like I was the bad guy... I guess she is still an academy training adventurers on becoming strong however she is still in the wrong for keeping the Blue Mist around any longer then it has to be.
I then smiled at them before forming a huge Paper Plane below me, I then fell form the ceiling and stood on the paper and flew out the nearest open window into the sky. Kate started throwing multiple Fire Bolts at me however it was to late, I had left the Barrier of the Academy and the air pressure dropped, the fire put itself out as my Paper Plane fell below the Academy and then when there was enough air I caught myself and started flying above the trees and of into the distance, I am counting on you Kate.
Kate's Point Of View
"Damn it. He got away" I said to myself, if John could see me what would he think, he only just left and while I was around the Academy is being destroyed and I could do nothing.
"Calm down... Kate is it? we need to evacuate everyone, the remaining Mana keeping the academy up will run out soon, I beg of you please help us evacuate" Zeo said to me with a desperate voice. I did not hesitate and ran out the building to look of people who may not be able to make it out in time. I run around and most people have evacuated and I then run to the dorms to see if anyone is sleeping and did not hear the message, it was all clear. I check everywhere and it looks like nobody is left behind, I then run to the teleporter room and teleport to the 3 Fists Academy just before the Academy Of The Sky fell to the ground. I hope everyone was ok.
I run to father immediately and he smiles upon seeing me but my serious face made his go serious. "What happened?" father asked me while sitting me down and giving me a glass of water.
"After we got there John had to leave for some Dragon Slayer quest however I stayed to have my body analysed for that power you always trained me for. however when I got the results a warning came up and said to exit and it was not a drill. I then was impaled by a paper spear and fell to the ground, I get back up with Phoenix Reborn to get back up again and he destroyed the Mana Orb keeping the Academy Of The Sky in the sky, after that I tried to stop him but he just jumped all over and then landed behind me moving faster then I could keep up with. he then reduced what remained of the Mana Orb to dust after jumping onto the ceiling and not falling down, he then made a Paper Plane big enough to lie down on and flew it out the window" I said telling father everything. however he looked back at me wanting to know more.
"What did this person look like?" father asked me, I then thought back.
"He had a white paper mask that covered the to half of his face, it looked to be a bird mask. erm, he had a posh looking black suit, however it moved like it was designed for battle." I said and then realised... I did not pay attention to anything he could change, you can take of a suit and paper mask, I couldn't remember anything else about him... "Sorry father I cant remember anything that he cant change" I said sadly as I looked down. he then patted me on the back with a smile.
"It is ok, there was a headmaster with you right? she will know, however... this Paper Power. was it like John's?" father asked me... yes it was... wait no. John's felt different. the one I felt from the Paper Masked man was something else... it was much stronger. It felt almost limitless... it was scary...
"yes and no. it was controlled like John controlled his however much more fluently, It felt a lot stronger then John's he was also faster" I said recalling what I had saw. I wonder if John could even fight that kind of power himself? Dragon Slayers as good at fighting a single opponent bigger and stronger then them self, normally because of a speed advantage and their aura, however this person is fast. not something that John will be able to deal with. I will tell the Eron Nina and Lilian that we will need to train hard while John is away, maybe we can help better if we cover John's weaknesses?
"hmm... ok, I will check with the Academy Of The Sky, for now go to your room and rest, you deserve it" father said while preparing to use his personal teleporter to go to the Academy Of The Sky. he leaves after waving at me goodbye. I then run to the others to explain to them what happened.
All I know for now is he was lucky to have attacked an academy the focuses on sensory skills. If he attacked any other academy he would be in trouble as they will have teachers as strong as father. however I will get him back for mocking me like that. If John finds out he will most likely laugh, I acted rashly instead of analysing the situation and planing what to do from there.
John's Point Of View
[Truth Paper: By using 500 Mana you can find out if anyone is telling the truth or lying, what they are lying about however is not shown]
[Coloured Paper:With the cost of 50 Mana/s you can alter the colour of paper as a whole or with a colour scheme in mind]
[Paper Spear: A Paper Spear that can pierce armour and defence, damage depends on paper mastery and Strength]
[Paper Mastery: Mastery over paper improves with skill level. the higher the level the more your control and understanding over paper grows]
[Paper Wall: Create a wall of paper to absorb damage, costs depend on strength of what is being blocked]
I have to say that was easier then expected. well the other academies wont have such a weakness so I will have to be creative. and I was also lucky it was a sensory academy. if it wasn't their would be a lot more teachers to fight then just the Headmaster.
oh well, I want to experiment a bit with Paper, I also would like to know if anyone died, I hope Kate got out of there. I want to ask why she was there in the first place however I know if I do she may realise I am the masked man that threw a spear into her. oh well, I did not think I would be able to say I had thrust my spear deep inside her before I was 18, enough of that thought for now. I have some skills to grind and I want to be a bit more prepared for the next fight.

Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

Reborn as a Magic Firefly, Help?
A rural farmer's boy is unknowingly reincarnated into a world of magic and monsters as just a wee little larva, not even considered a monster at all. But through grit and a passion for surviving, he will eventually evolve into something truly powerful and maybe, just maybe, find a way home. If that means defeating powerful foes and becoming a powerful monster himself, maybe, just maybe, that's what he needs to do. Popcorn easy-going typical "reincarnated as a monster" fic. Expect evolution trees, rare evolutions, small twists, a generally unaccepted main character who just wants to meet a human, the works. In this story, the main character is reincarnated as a larva, but his evolution will lead him down a path to become a will 'o wisp firefly hybrid, since that is what the fellows over on light novel amino requested, and it sounded cool. I'm just writing this to keep my fingers moving, so it won't have too much effort in it, but if you like stories like the beginning of the (good) reincarnated-as-a-dragon light novel, I'm sure you'll like this one. Popcorn isekai fic. The cover, drawn by yours truly, will reflect the current evolution of the main character. Also, he'll be pretty weak-to-strong, since, well, maggots are kind-of-really weak.

Order: Slayer [Modern LITRPG Progression]

On that day, humanity received their greatest tool in combating this threat: the Slayer System. Those who accepted the System's power were called Slayers, and they had created a new, prosperous peace. Decades after, Alexander Shen lives in Ordo, the Slayer Capital of the world, months away from graduating at his university. Although uncertain about his future, he wishes for nothing but a normal life for himself and his younger sister. However, as another disaster strikes, finding himself in the throes of catastrophe (once again), he realizes that the stars have other plans for him. Having his normal life snatched away from him, he is determined to fight, even if it means shooting down the stars. [SAGA 1: STARBORN NIGHT] The Ordo Disaster has begun, and the golden barrier has been raised for the safety of the outside world. Nothing is getting out, nothing is getting in. The people of Ordo are trapped in their own homes with monsters banging at every door. Alexander has to work with the Slayers in order to free their city from the invaders, and to protect everyone he loves. Current Arc: Arc 2 - Comet Order: Slayer is a modern LitRPG progression, inspired by works like Solo Leveling and Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. If you like a character-focused story, a system that allows for various types of magic, some romance, all with a foot in realism, then perhaps you will like this one. You will see clever characters, strong characters, absolute idiots, and more, interacting in the modern world. The story is structured into Sagas and Arcs. Sagas revolve around a central plotline comprised of multiple Arcs. Due to the premise of Saga 1, do not expect much progression in the story until the saga ends. Schedule: Chapters will be posted three times a week: Monday - Wednesday - Friday at 12PM EST.

Join the MC on a journey through a fantasy world as he searches for the reason of his existences and walk on the path to his destiny. The mature tag currently only applies for the side story, which is canon and could be skipped. I probably don't intent to add mature content into the main story. This is the first time I'm writing a story and I hope that you'll all like it.
