Village improvements.
--
Mars didn't feel that he needs sleep right now
So he just thought up of finishing some other buildings.
..
He made barrier pillars all around the village border.
He cut up a road inside the forest, straight to the next continent and also placed a barrier.
The blacksmith factory would be a tricky build so he decided to put it up later.
A dojo made from all wood and some stone was created in the middle of the oval.
A Japanese style bathhouse was made near the so called inn.
It has a set of mana crystals under it. One set produces water and one set produces fire.
He tampered with this mana crystals to produce fire magic when given a certain amount of mana, it still uses wood as fuel but the mana crystals reduce the fuel consumption by half.
He just played with all of the mana crystals that the miners had gathered.
Apparently, mana crystals are plenty resources that can be found in any cave or the likes so there would be no problem with the supply.
One crystal that he created produces ice cubes when inserted with mana and one crystal that emits wind magic.
These crystals were enclosed in a square formed rock with some slits on it(rock made Air Con). It somehow takes 8 hours before any need for mana recharging but if you put another non tampered crystal next to the already made sockets , the standby time would double.
He decided to call it
..
On each streets were slender pillars with somehow scythe looking edge and a glowing mana crystal on the tip making the alleys bright.
The gaps on each houses was quite spacious so he decided for people to make each of a garden on their own for the backyard purposes.
It was almost dawn when he finished so he decided to take his primary goal.
...
He flew up high and sent a mana sonar, few minutes later he teleported to a certain location which was near the ocean.
It was still early for morning so he decided to scoop a big amount of salt water bubble and conjured a fire under it.
The water bubble that slowly turns into salt would fall down a certain circle straight to his space inventory.
When he was finished, he then teleported to some other place to pull out some type of crops and spices, leaving a mana crystal for the one sided exchange.
..
When on his way back, he hunted some boars again now including a giant boar which size is about triple to Kuma.
In the center square he used the fireplace that he created and made a boar stew.
This time with salt, spices and some vegetable. It was a pretty large earthen pot the he just created.(water came from his water magic)
By this time some people are already up. He invited them to have a meal until the whole village lined up and ate.
"COME HERE AGAIN AFTER BREAKFAST."(mars)
He said to the people for them to begin the daily mana exercise.
When exercise began, he also included on how to produce mana on their own by willing it.
When elder Jones did it, it was a half red half green light.
He didn't knew the meaning of this but he assumed it to be a dual element.
Curious as to what his affinities were.
He created a ball of light.
As to his wonders, it was purplish black light w/c resembles the void in outer space. Its probably because of his affinity.
"quite an affinity huh."(elder Jones)
Mars just nodded.
"mine was dual affinity, though it doesn't mean I can use other elements but this two were just my strongest and would be easiest for me to use.
By the way I'm at former Master rank. Since I specialize with wind and fire all I can do was to destroy and not to build. I regret as why can't i build new magic anymore when I reached this age."(elder Jones)
"hmmm.. Old man..(mars)
"what is it Mars -dono"(elder Jones)
..
..
"want to fly?"(mars)
The elders face cant be drawn as to how ridiculous this statement to be but seeing the smug on this young persons smile he just couldn't help it.
Mars then teleported them to the outside of the village and told elder the basics.
Since the first step was to float, he decided against it.
--
He told him to create a small amount of wind magic and ignite with a fireball to launch his self up.
Further instructions. He told him that when he was above he decided to use the concept on how airplanes fly. On how to turn he just told him to use the technique on taking off.
Thus elder Jones rocketed up in the air. For the first few seconds up in the air he didn't do anything. He understood the concept well. He was trying to do this all of his life.
The only part missing was the fireball to launch his self or use it for sudden turns and acceleration.
For this type of magic, he surpassed his self of being a grandmaster.
--
The problem was...
He crashed.
After a few minutes of flying, boosting and rocketing in the air.
The only concept that they both forgot was.. Landing.
When mars would fly he would teleport himself to the ground thus he didn't even need to land. Elder Jones was too happy of learning this new magic and forgot everything.
Realizing that they both messed up the two laughed it off like freaks in the middle of nowhere.
Elder got some bruises and torn clothes so when mars healed him the torn clothes remained.
When they teleported in the village. The people were busy cutting up the remaining woods to make their own furniture.
The farmers were also on work with Annie riding on kuma's back.
There were children playing on the square but he didn't like children playing on the road so he will make a playground later.
Only thing left was the miners x blacksmiths peoples work.
He then gathered this people and brought them to an empty space near the mine.
The mine was near to the river so stones were no problem.
Then he made a tall pillars with earthen roof with several holes for the chimneys.
Then the miners would get their own stones and mars would cut it into bricks to make their own forge.
Thus when it was finished, the people immediately rushed in the mine and start their work, he told them to make arrowheads for first.
Back to the square.
There were jobless people which was either disabled, old, children or women that don't do work.
He then healed those whom he can heal and that produced only 5 able people to work.
He then gathered the women and children to the dojo.
Many of them were mothers and children of 12 yrs old above.
He then began the exercise, he told that if they could defend their selves
No one would bully them thus he made them run in the oval.
All of them didn't even finished half and their already dead tired.
Thus he just told them to make bows and arrows.
These arrows were all made of wood with no feather holdings or something, just for arrows.
And for a while he made them eat which they ate greedily because they considered this was delicious.
In the afternoon, he made them run again with same results. When they recover,
He would make them copy him with some kungfu like movements and kata after that he nudged them to make arrows then feed them.
Thus the daily life of women and children would turn out to be like this everyday.
---
Meanwhile, woodworkers don't have their own workshop so he decided to make a Lumberjack factory far from the mine.
..
Afternoon
This time of the day, every people would gather and begin the mana breathing exercise(as they call it).
But this time there was something different.
Some people began to notice a significant change in their breathing and felt that maybe they could control it.
Mars instructed this people to produce a light of mana on their palm and somehow it appeared.
These people were happy to be able to use mana. Their respective colors where red, blue, green and red again.
4 people who got it first would be hired to maintain the barrier.
They would be under elder Jones for some spell training and will later come to mars to improve it.
Thus in this free time of the day.
He made everyone run to the oval that he made.
The peoples faces looks like that of elder Jones when he mentioned of flying.
When the people reached the oval, they saw their families making strange movements that felt like dancing through air.
"Ill make you do that later so for now, Run, first come first serve."(mars)
He then started to cook for the people.
Seeing this, the people started to run not minding this exercise to those who collapsed would be brought by the women to the dojo to rest.
-------
The village was now complete but they don't have specialties.
Not for long.
He took some men to the forest to teach them some hunting.
Using the bows and arrows that the women and children built mars forced them deep in the fores to hunt monsters.
The first encounter was a giant spider.
He brought a total of 20 people to be sent out by fives.
The first five almost died but then mars prevented it by layering a barrier to those who have fallen.
He didn't healed them until going home for them to be afraid of pain.
This hell hunting continued on several days until these people can now gather in their own.
Several days after.
The blacksmiths x Miners have created plenty of materials such as knifes, swords and arrowheads etc.
Thus he made them to do some "spring"
Yup, a spring made of iron in a coiled manner.
The BMs (blacksmith miners) didn't know its use but they just complied.
On the farm were several types of animals a being bred the crops are also doing good.
He made the lumbers to make several orders of bed on with some small springhole in it.
...
The springs and beds were done.
The bedsheets and pillows were made of monster leather and fur which makes it somehow hard but good enough to sleep on.
But the supposed to be hard looking beds would be nothing under the springs that were on the bed.
..
On a part of the forest he found rubber trees. These trees sap was used to produce rubber.
..
The inn have 3 floors with twenty rooms each floor. Pretty big huh?
This also have the custom made beds and two on each floor. The first floor only have 10 rooms because of the reception area.
The townhall was just a big as the inn in front of it but with fewer rooms.
The rooms were big and have individual showers and mana cons.
This rooms would be allocated for VIPs.
The BMs were informed of the rubber and mars told them the use of it.
He told them that it was best used as a grip and they tested it.
The result was a success. The rubber grip made a knife more easy to grasp and but it feels kinda sticky.
He also introduced his own designed springed rubber armor.
It was an armor with light metal as the inner vest and several hundred mini springs all around and another set of metal. The metal was covered with dense rubber covering the whole vest.
They tried it to a dummy and attacked it with a downward swing.
The sword bounced up and was parried by the armor.
The BMs were shocked.
Non of them knew an armor that would parry a normal attack.
Then they tried and arrow.
An arrow was shot... But didn't do much damage. The arrow embedded into the rubber but didn't penetrate it up to the deepest layer.
Thus an almost impregnable rubber armor under that things was made.
..

The life of a teenage hellworlder
We've all heard of the trope that Earth is a deadly planet by galactic standard; and has thus honed humanity into a ruthless species bent on surviving at all costs. As it turns out, that trope is true. Sapient species that evolve on safe planets develop to be peaceful and compassionate - and the ones that do on dangerous ones become violent and selfish out of need - usually wiping themselves out. But obviously, not every violent species drives itself to extinction - resulting in them being feared and ostracized - including humans. The life of a teenage hellworlder is a sci-fi slice of life story that revolves mainly around Thomas, a sixteen-year-old New Britannian attending a Xeno high school, who befriends a lonely apex predator named Javqua. Getting written by two amateur teen writers, things may sometimes be inconsistent or be confusing - feel free to comment and point out these problems. Gore, profanity, and traumatizing content tags are only for minor events in the story and do not happen often. Chapters are around 1k - 2k words - pretty short, but that's because we're all busy with our own lives and school. Trust us - we would gladly upload 5k word chapters if we could. We tend to upload new chapters every Saturday or Sunday. Please consider supporting us on Patreon!

Museum of Deadly Beasts
Lin Jin never imagined he would ever transmigrate. And to such a peculiar world at that. Here, deadly beasts were regarded as sacred, and thankfully, he owned a museum for deadly beasts. “Master, this is just a dying little tortoise…” “What tortoise? This is a rare species that contains the blood of a Black Tortoise and could be promoted up to level seven.” “What about this shedding mongrel?” “Mongrel? How narrow-minded. This is a branch descendant of the snarling hound with a hint of Kirin’s blood. Take my word for it and sign the blood contract at once. I guarantee you that you’ll soar to success and be on your path to invincibility!”

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

Revenant
Everyone dies. Not everyone gets back up again afterward. The Deep Paths are a cursed place, meant for those similarly cursed souls whom the gods themselves denied the sweet release of death. Revenants haunt the underworld, wielding forbidden powers and often consuming those who lack the strength to join them. At least, that's the story that parents teach their kids up on the surface. Reshid can't remember what he might have done to deserve such a fate, but he learns quickly that there is more to undeath than the gods and their faithful preach to the living. Revenants have a unique connection to essential magics that allows them to develop their powers in extremely diverse ways. Wherever there is power, though, there are those seeking to wield it, whether they be governments and gods from above, or mythical elder races from below.
