《The Lolicoknight》Chapter 67

After 23 minutes, Degritone was almost through the memory packets. "Ooo, nice, there's image upgrades in here, too. I'll set them aside for now so I can shift through them for any incompatibilities in different ones and see what I can make from the amalgamation of them all."
Another 8 minutes later, Degritone had gone through all the purely combat experience memories and moved on to sorting out how he was going to advance his Immortal Troll image using the advancements of his other selves.
The first and easiest was Flesh. Only 2 Degritones had focused on it, coming to the same conclusion: Make it regrow so fast as to seem permanent. So, after incorporating that into a memory packet of the whole Immortal Troll image that he would use to more easily memorize the Immortal Troll in a way that didn't require active use of memory packets, he moved on to Regeneration.
Regeneration was also pretty simple, with 10 submissions that claim to get almost identical results. He chose the easiest one to actually incorporate: The image of the Immortal Troll returning to full after having been reduced to a single cell.
Withered Hands was next up. Some worked on getting a ranged application of the Skill, others worked on making it more potent. The most potent one he found was a version of the image where the arms had been fully withered away, with the shoulders in a constant battle to return to normalcy, but with spectral copies of the arms being made from the Troll's excess life force.
With a slight modification from flinging out a glob of the Troll's on withered flesh as a catalyst to making it a beam of ectoplasm, Degritone looked both add range to the Skill and increase its potency greatly.
Piercing Blood came next, and it had exactly one submission: Just its current state, but more potent. More corrosive, more damaging, less Stamina cost for its activated effect.
Finally, he had 18 submissions for how to get the Immortal Troll's signature ability: Copying the stuff that damaged it. Be it the bite force of a shark, the magic capability of an insanely ancient and powerful lich, or as simple as the toughness of steel. Only 2 of them were compatible, and they were the weakest two. Even multiplying the numbers together did not reach the top 10.

He took the most powerful version and slapped it onto the Immortal Troll: The life force of the Troll reaching out and deconstructing anything in the path of its regrowth, incorporating the resultant property essence into itself. The System did not enjoy the damaging aspect of the Skill, excluding it, but respecting the power play and making it the most powerful version any of the Degritones had thought of.
And so, Degritone went about memorizing the new version of the image: The Immortal Troll starting as a single cell and regenerating through a steel box, his life force chewing through the box and giving his flesh outside where the box used to be the same hardness as steel. Some of his blood spilled out of his still-regenerating body to chew through the table the box used to be on, and once the regeneration reached his arms, the withering curse reapplied itself, preventing his arms from truly regenerating, but his life force being so strong that it recreated its arms out of itself.
Congratulations! Skill Set upgraded!

"Blades! You ready to see my upgrades?"
Three real time hours later, Degritone said to the exhausted Patron of Blades, "Ok, that makes the last 325 matches mine. Think that's good enough?"
"You're nowhere near as overwhelming as Duels, though, I guess that's to be expected of someone with primarily defensive Skills. You should at least last one real second against him, now. I don't think I have anything else I can teach you, so goodbye." With that, Blades disappeared.
"To a Dungeon?"
"It would be nice to get you some real equipment before we do so you can get used to fighting with real equipment bonuses, but the more people know you are out of my garden, the more likely it would be for Duels to find out. So, yes, to a Dungeon."
Degritone leveled up to 90 and got the prompt for a new custom Skill. He imagined an angry loli face with numbers for a mouth appearing on someone he focused on, with the number representing the number of lolis they've hurt, either physically or emotionally.

In the text box, he put, "Apply a mark to anyone you can see. This mark is unable to be removed and counts the number of lolis the mark holder has hurt, physically or emotionally, including those from before the application of the mark. If they hurt another loli while they have the mark, it deals DR bypassing and ignoring percent maximum Health damage equal to the number of lolis they hurt. This counts as an attack originating from the one who applied the mark."
After a second of thought, he changed the last sentence to, "This counts as an attack from the holder of this Skill with the most damaging effects that apply on-hit," before submitting the Skill.
Skill granted:
Mark of the Loli Heretic lvX
Degritone then spent his 1986 new free stats on Agility, since it was his most lacking Stat, and began slowly spending his 3091 SP, as to not encounter whatever insta-death effect that one person had. After spending 1396 SP on The Immortal Troll, bringing it up to level 2013, he felt the first inkling of sickness and immediately stopped, two different Orders preventing him from going further.
"Huh, seems like I do have a limit," he said.
"In what way do you mean? You have plenty of limits that I can think of."
"Fair enough, I can't exactly explode an entire multiverse yet, or mind control anyone, or arbitrarily manipulate the System. I do actually have a Skill cap. Just started feeling sick at around... 5250ish above my max."
"Oh, did you remember to stop immediately?"
"Of course, I have two Orders preventing me from trying to go any further. You told me to immediately stop if I felt sick, and my daughter in my lifedream told me to not die."
"You have a daughter, and what is a lifedream?"
"Technically, and it's a dream where I live out an entire life, from some age to my death by age-related complications. Don't really have time to tell you more about it now, as who knows when or if Duels will figure out arbitrary teleportation like we have, but I will explain if you ask."
"I will ask for more details after you return victorious."
Degritone nodded and spent his new PP.

"Win this," Melena said before Degritone disappeared.
He reappeared 40 feet behind the Patron of Duels. When the Patron instantly turned around, Degritone accelerated time as much as he safely could and laughed. "Man, this really feels like the end of the line."

8 218Captain Stellon
A pilot in the Interplanetary Era, it was never Captain Stellon's intention to get caught up in the big questions of his time. But artificial systems and human agents have a worrying habit of finding him useful in their efforts to shape events. Kaitar, for example, an astrobiologist fixated on a return to Earth, would never have been chosen for him by a dating algorithm. They're just galaxies apart in everything they say and do. Yet their destinies get strangely entangled. And if that weren't enough, A.S. itself decides our young, hapless hero is just the person it needs for a spot of undercover work...
8 72The White Horde (Revised)
The rewritten version of the same ongoing story, recast into Past Tense and lightly edited. Inspired by the intrigue, drama, and destruction whispered to us by ancient history, this story is set in a world where magic is slowly dying, and decadent empires struggle against each other as well as against the barbarian hordes pushing ever westward. The story is told from the viewpoints of three people whose actions will change the fate of nations and empires alike: Amazonia. More than just a female gladiator but a champion of the arena, she will win her freedom at a price: to become a Reaver Knight not seen since the days of ancient Babylonia, with a mission to save the empire that enslaved her from destruction at the hands of a rival empire, the Sasnayams. Wysper. A Celtic priestess stolen away from her homeland by Muzen, high priest of the Sasnayam deity Yun-Kax, she possesses a mana node like a second heart inside her body which Muzen rips out each time he 'sacrifices' her to their god to appease the masses. Despite her strong will, everyone has a limit, and Muzen's actions have driven Wysper close to the edge of suicide. Greywolf. Son of the infamous Shadow-walker, Ghostdog, and the Celestial Asena, who was once revered as the Wolf-mother goddess, but now guards caravans for drinking money. His boring life will change when his impulsive act puts Wysper's life in danger, yet saving her risks his death, or enslavement at Muzen's hands. And all the while, the White Horde sits on the edge of empires, biding its time...

8 183Contact Through Voided Lenses
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Edit: Fixed some inaccuracies in the synopsis. The void is a vast unexplored ocean filled with various wonders and dangers all waiting to be explored by those brave enough to travel and record. Many souls do find themselves brave enough to face the vast distances, the various risks to personal safety and do the hundreds of task required on a craft. However, at times the void itself can be boring with absolutely nothing to do but as time pass and more and better technology is reached, things got better. The various trips got faster, communications became faster than light and you can be home to see your loved ones after only months now. Through the various planets whether rocky or gaseous, the various stars whether small or giant, the various systems both eerily similar or completely alien. As part of an expeditionary scientific exploratory survey craft, one could see that the void offers no reprieve from all the discoveries and wonders. At times, it can feel empty and silent where no soul can hear you scream and at others it can be overwhelming with sudden phenomenon that can overwhelm the brightest of minds. The void itself is a truly fascinating ocean where one must chart the various islands or drown in its deadly tidal waves. But the question still remained no matter how you try to hide it in of itself… is there truly other intelligent life out there? Are we alone in this ocean? Those very questions still haunt the minds of those on the crafts themselves as they brace for every jump ready for the unknown and the known. Many would try to explain that yes there is other intelligent life out there whilst other still say no after 2 centuries of continuous flight out of the home system. Still, those are questions that bury deep in the minds of the crew and those at home as the voidcraft jumps to a system with a single yellow star orbited by 8 other planets with one crowning blue jewel being the 3rd closest with its 5 oceans and 7 continents, a planet called Dirt which is inhabited by a primitive species called Humanity. Hello, author here and this is my newest dive into writing particularly for the Writathon currently in progress being my first one. I hope you give me story a try but in case you still want more information on what you’re getting into, below are some pointers about the story itself. First Contact: CTVL is a story about a first contact scenario between an advanced alien civilization and a slightly more advanced modern day humanity on their planet called Dirt. Characters: The story will take place mainly on the perspective of the alien visitors themselves though there will be human POV characters who will show how the rest of humanity react through media and forums. Action: It won’t be an actual alien invasion but you have to see for yourself how well first contact went. Sci-Fi: I will be very forward here, I WILL bend the rules of physics in order to add in parts of the plot and there WILL be parts that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Theme: It will be a brooding story talking about the futility of pe… Just kidding, it’s mostly wholesome stuff to be honest here. Alien: The aliens themselves will… actually why should I tell you, you have to go and read it to find out what the aliens are though I will draw a few things here and there to aid in the process. Extra tidbit: If you are a grammar nazi or someone who really wants a realistic scifi story... this story is probably not for you at all. Anyways, that’s pretty much all I can say before I spoil something major of the plot itself, the story is slice of life so make sure that type of story is what you like because I am terrible with anything else as I found out, anyways, have a good time everyone and good luck to the other Writathon participants.
