*Bam! Bam!*

Muyou just threw out two punches to deflect the incoming attacks. Before he even had the chance to relax, he sensed another kick approaching from his right side.

“Ugh!” Muyou bit his lips as he desperately leap towards his left direction. By now, Muyou was drenched in sweat and he was trying hard to catch his breath.

“Now! Change to the Capture Variation!” Zi Long bellowed as the other four students immediately went into their respective positions. Even before Muyou had landed, he was already surrounded.

“Damn...” Muyou gritted his teeth, he had been trying his hardest to avoid being trapped in this Capture Variation. Based on the previous training, he knew that once he was trapped in the Capture Variation, the difficulty of escaping would increase by almost tenfold.

“Now! Change to the Capture Variation!” Zi Long bellowed as the other four students immediately went into their respective positions. Even before Muyou had landed, he was already surrounded.

“Damn...” Muyou gritted his teeth, he had been trying his hardest to avoid being trapped in this Capture Variation. Based on the previous training, he knew that once he was trapped in the Capture Variation, the difficulty of escaping would increase by almost tenfold.

“Ok Muyou you lost.” Yue Hao who was observing from the side announced. As he announced, the other students spectating clapped their hands.

“You were awesome, none of us will be able to put up such a defence against the formation.” Zi Long walked up to Muyou as he patted Muyou’s back. Zi Long and the other four students’ faces had an exhausted expression as they panted heavily. Although they had successfully captured Muyou, they had clearly expended a significant portion of their energy.

“This formation is indeed amazing, even I am helpless facing it hahaha.” Muyou laughed as he sat on the floor.

“Don’t be so humble haha, if you were to go all out, we would have been injured and you could break this formation.” Zi Long said.

“Same for you guys, if you all were to go all out, I would not escape without heavy injuries.” Muyou said. Zi Long did not reply but merely smiled at Muyou.

“Guess this should settle us for tomorrow.” Yiqi who was leaning on a nearby tree said. They had spent the past six days solely focused on training in this Core Elemental Formation. When Instructor Pang learnt of their plan, he did not oppose and even offered to help out in their training. Although he was not well-versed in the formation, he was a valuable sparring partner and with his combat experience, he offered many practical tips regarding the execution of the formation.

The whole class had been training hard in preparation for the upcoming monthly event, especially after most of them had been “robbed” during the previous event. Moreover, the upcoming event they had a bigger obstacle which was the Xiao Lei’s faction. Therefore, the past 6 days, their daily schedule was training together in the formation and then sparring with Xiao Lei’s faction members during their free time.

“Ok, let’s go through over the teams again for tomorrow. The thirty of us will be split into six teams of five members.” Yue Hao took out a sheet as he started preparing the class for tomorrow’s event. Yue Hao had unofficially took on the role of the strategist in the class.

“The first team would comprise of Muyou, Yiqi, Zi Long, Situ Dao and me. The second team would comprise of … The third team… The fourth team… The fifth team… The sixth team…” Yue Hao read out the names as he started allocating everybody into different teams.

“The first team is the strongest team and will be undertaking the most dangerous part of the event tomorrow. They will be acting as the vanguard. More specific instructions will be announced tomorrow after Head Instructor Wang disclose the event details tomorrow.” Yue Hao said as he turned towards Instructor Pang and smiled. “Instructor Pang, do you have any hints or tips on what tomorrow’s event is?”

“Hahaha, forget about getting anything out of me.” Instructor Pang let out a laughter. “Although I do not know of the other students’ strength, I can tell that you all are definitely well-prepared for tomorrow’s event. Just go in with confidence and do your best in tomorrow’s event. But remember your life is more important than the panther tokens. Regardless of what may happen during tomorrow’s event, treat them as lessons.”

“Ok everybody rest well tomorrow will be the big day!” Muyou clapped his hands. He was very satisfied with the preparation for tomorrow’s event.

The next day morning, the whole batch was gathered around the event gathering area as Head Instructor Wang and the other instructors stood at the front. However, this event was already looking very different from the previous monthly event as the students were more organised than the previous month. In the previous month, most of the students were gathered in random groups whereas in this event, the students were clearly gathered in four factions.

The biggest groups occupied the left and right side of the area, with Pang Jing’s faction on the left and Xiao Lei’s faction on the right. The middle side was occupied by a relatively small group compared to Pang Jing and Xiao Lei’s factions. Although the middle group only numbered about fifty people, they stood out from Pang Jing and Xiao Lei’s factions. They were the Ouyang Huo’s faction.

And at the back, was Muyou’s faction which had only thirty people.

“Hi Muyou, how have you been?” Pang Jing walked towards Muyou.

“I’m good, thanks young master Pang Jing for your concern.” Muyou replied courteously.

“No need for such formalities, you can just call me Pang Jing.” Pang Jing laughed. “By the way, I have heard of the situation between Xiao Lei’s faction and your faction. Do you need any help? I can provide some assistance during this event.” As he said this, about fifty of his faction’s members came over. “I can send fifty people to support your faction during this event.”

“It’s alright, but I think we will be fine on our own.” Muyou rejected his offer.

“Ok then, remember if you have any problem feel free to approach me.” Pang Jing said as he returned with his faction members.

On the way back, he called Pang Sheng over. “Take 3 members and go watch over Muyou during the event. Do not expose yourselves under any circumstances. Report to me before you undertake any action.” He whispered to Pang Sheng.

“Understood.” Pang Sheng nodded his head.

“Muyou, we had better be wary of Pang Jing. We do not know if he has kind intentions. Compared to Xiao Lei, he is far more complicated. Moreover, that time when we were ambushed by Hai Cheng and ten other students, all of them were in Pang Jing’s faction. I think they could have been under Pang Jing’s instructions during that attack.” Yiqi warned Muyou.

“Uhm.” Muyou nodded his head as he stared at Pang Jing’s back. It would be good if he had another ally in Panther Academy, but as Yiqi had mentioned, he did not know if Pang Jing was sincere in his intentions.

“Settle down everyone!” Head Instructor Wang boomed. “The second monthly event is about to commence and here are the instructions!”

“This event will be in Area C, it will be very different from the previous event. In this event, you will not be collecting balls, but you will be capturing the grey wolves in the Zone C. For each grey wolf you capture, you can exchange them for ten panther tokens each. The leader of the grey wolf pack which is about thrice the usual size and has a white patch on its forehead, is worth a hundred panther tokens.”

When the reward was mentioned, everybody became excited. One hundred panther tokens! That was equivalent to one hundred balls which was near impossible for an individual to collect in the previous event!

“However, this event has some special rules. No weapons are allowed in this event and the wolves must not be killed or crippled to be exchanged for tokens. Treat the wolves as like hostages, you subdue them, restrict their movements or even render them unconscious, but they must not be dead or crippled. Thus, this is a capturing mission or a kidnapping mission. The skills you learnt in this event will be useful in some of your future missions.” Head Instructor Wang said.

“The event will start in fifteen minutes, use this time to plan and prepare. The event will end when at 8pm sharp. Tokens will not be given out to students who reach back later than 8pm. That’s all!” Head Instructor Wang concluded his briefing before sending out the various instructors to Zone C first.

The four factions immediately gathered in their individual groups to discuss the tactics.

“Ok, this will make things much easier. Team two to six will hunt down the normal grey wolves. If they are too hard to subdue, then use the formation. Team one will hunt the leader of the grey wolf pack. Remember, always stick to your teams and beware of other faction members. Other than Xiao Lei’s faction, the other factions may not necessarily be our allies.” Yue Hao started giving out instructions.

“That being said, do not go around making trouble for other people. This includes Xiao Lei’s faction. This event focus is on the grey wolves not the other students. Thus, focus your energy on capturing the grey wolves. Unless the other students create trouble for you, do not go pick fights with other people.” Yiqi warned the other students.

“Ok everyone! Follow me into Zone C!” Head Instructor Wang suddenly shouted before running into the wilderness area with everyone following closely behind.

After about five minutes of running, Head Instructor Wang stopped as he looked around.

“Ok, 8pm everybody will gather back here. The second monthly event will start now!” Instructor Wang launched the event with a wave of his hand.
