The two companions got to the main market square. Even though seemed all the shops were closed. At least the two now knew where they needed to go in the morning to shop for supplies. Luckily they would not have to travel far. The area with the shops they also found a sign indicating that the building was a inn.
Going up to the building the Reku pushed open the inn door. The two companions were greeted by a medium built women in dirty blue gown and apron. Reku informed hostess they like a room for the night and a small meal.
Giving the two a strange look not of one of discuss but more of curiosity. “ We have one room left it will cost two coppers and one copper per meal. I hope that would not be much trouble.” the hostess asked kindly thinking of fresh money.
“That would be perfectly fine madam you can just deliver the food to our room” Reku replied gently to the hostess while giving her four coppers from his pouch for the room and food.
The hostess lead the two to there room which looked simple but very relaxing. It had a wood nightstand and a full size bed. After a short while they received their meals of a slice of bread and the days stew. Which in truth most likely just leftovers thrown in a pot to cook everyday. Even so the two ate the meal happily.
The next day the two left the hotel in search of supplies. The first thing he did before leaving was ask the hostess from the night before if there was a place to sell stuff at. Is when they were formed of a auction house not far from the inn. With a warning that sometimes they would try to rip the seller off.
Reku already figured that matter whatever he sold. He would end up being sold under the price anyway. Till he got used to this world he and how things worked. He would just have to take the losses.
The auction looked small from the outside but once entering the door. It lead to a massive underground room with glass containers. Almost all the items that were displayed Reku never even seen before. Looking at one of the cases closest to him.
A crystal flask with a strange blue substance inside. Reading the description on the case. It read (tears of a mermaid) and another had a scaled armor. Which read (armored glove that doubles one physical resistance from attacks.
Looking at all the items a man wearing a black outfit walked up to them. The man looked very shady and eyeing the companions greedily. “how may our patrons today. Is there any help that I may give.” asked the greedy looking man while rubbing his hands together.
“We here to see what a few things our worth and told this is where to come. We don't have much” answered Reku while pulling pelt off his back and pouring the contents of the pouch at his side into his hands. Revealing a emerald jewel and ruined stone that caused the man's eyes brighten.
“How did you come across such exterminating items” the man said not able to hide his excitement. While rushing forward with great haste and pulling a small spied class from his pocket.
This made Reku think of think of a jewelers magnifying eye glass. The man did not go for the jewel first but instead the pelt. Making Reku have a very confused look. Seeing this the man stopped for a moment and looked up. “Ah yes this might be your first time here. This item can identify and get a items property stats strengths and even where it come from. We use these items to decided items values. For instance this pelt you have is truly remarkable. It comes from a species called a Amarok wolf. It gives the wearer double speed and strength quite extraordinary.

This is very rare I could easily lie to you about its worth. It even crossed my mind to tell you the truth. If you brought this fine specimen what else could bring in future. For the pelt I can give two gold coins if your willing to part with it.” man said while reaching for the emerald jewel and putting it under the glass eye.
“Amazing truly amazing another wonderful item not sure where you found this at. Its may be one of a kind itself it can increase one intellectual mind. Which would be could for those that are not have much of a mind themselves. This can bring untold value but as I do have to make money I'll give you three more gold coins and twenty silver. Now on last and most intriguing is this stone.” said the man still speaking without giving the two companions a chance to speak.
The man was looking at the stone with much curiosity. Turning it over in his hands many times without a break. Reku didn't think the stone was much of anything. In truth it was just a simple stone to him and didn't meant for the man to even have a look at it. He was already getting more than he thought he would. At most Reku believed that he would get maybe a silver at most.
Yet here he was about to around five gold. This should get him at least buy some basic supplies. After around five minutes the man looked up at them “I am sorry I can't give you anything for this.” ask the man disappointing.
“Its ok sir I didn't think I would get anything for it it anyway.” replied Reku.
“Oh sir it's not that I would not give you anything for it then I can't afford it. It is truly priceless matter how you think of it.” the shady man said.
For a man that look like all he cared about was money and shady business. He was being quite upfront about everything. Was there something else that the man had in mind. Thought Reku while starting at the man.
“What's so special about it that you can't afford it and if you could what would you pay for it.” asked Reku questionably.
“First you would add something like this to armor or a weapon. The art of making these stones have long been lost. It gives a different buff for each bearer of the stone. So one could not say what the true strength of the stone could be. In the hands of a god the power could be unimaginably while in a simpleton it could be basically useless.
The most I could afford is one hundred gold coins. In truth not even that would cover the price of the stone. It could be sold truthfully for even thousands of gold. The only person that could probable afford it is nobles or kings.” answered the man not able to believe what he had in his hands.
“If it is truly worth what you say then why not us make a deal. You give us the a hundred and five gold and twenty silver. Also I like to find a weapon if you can help me with that we both can be happy. Also do you have any more of them eyeglasses left that identify items?” replied Reku with this kind of money he should be able to find and gather any supplies he needs.
The man hearing what the man in front of him said. He couldn't hid the large grin on his face with the news he heard. This might be his luckiest day alive thinking the shady looking guy. He handed the eye glass he had to Reku telling him to keep it as a gift as he had few others. To please the man in front of him if he can please these patrons.

There was no telling what else they could bring to him in the future. Leading him to the back room where there was thousands of weapons on display for sell. “Please forgive me I never given you my name they call me Krithan the mischievous. In truth I shall not lie I only think of myself. No one else but for the future profits for both of us why not choose any weapon of your choice for our fated future business.
I have faith this small token will lead to riches for the both of us. If you ever have wish to buy or sell anything else or need to find something. Please you this card it will open a door directly to this room. All you have to do is focus your energy into the card. In return it will open a path to this auction house. It's called a transporter card. Each one may lead to specially made areas.
They need someone with special skills to make these cards but they do come in handy. Taking the card and putting it in the pouch. Walking into the hall at the vast weapons in front of them. In a far corner was single sword leaning against the wall looked rusted and worn out. This sword called to Reku like it be long wait for a new master was finally over.
Wrapping his hand around the sword's handle. It seemed the swords handle was meant for his hands. Even though the sword was rusted and seemed useless by looks. Yet at the same time Reku could not think of taking any other. The sword just simple needed to be polished and sharpened.
Looking at man holding the rusted sword. The auctioneer owner just could not understand of all the weapons in the room. This man picked up the one sword that no one has ever wanted or needed. The sword was basically worthless it's only description upon looking threw the identifying eye glass. Was simply the sword of Asi.
“Sir I'm not here to judge but you could have any sword you wish. Why did go straight for the most rusted run down sword? That is in this armory. You could have any weapon here do not be worried to take anything here. We have holy swords and magical swords. There nothing special about that sword. But the fact that it's falling apart.” asked the owner of the auction house. Today he already got his hands a few great items. the lost of one sword would not hurt his business.
“No this sword will do fine please go go ahead and go collect the money. We will look around while we wait for your return. Do try to be little quick we have a few other stops we must take care of. We do appreciate all you have done for us and your generosity.” thanking the man and wishing to finish up in the city as quickly as possible.
The man not wishing to offend the ones that brought such wonderful items to his shop. Left in a rush to collect the agreed upon price. Walking around the room with all the glass containers full of items. Every item that was in this place seemed to be priceless on its on.
Walking up to one of the containers. Reku found one item he didn't even consider needing. A map of the continent showing the land split into four empires and their territories. After a short while the Krithan returned to the two companions with a large sack full of coins.
Arriving at the container with map where Reku and Nuwa stood. “how much for the map Krithan” asked Reku.
“We normally don't just sell items sir it is a auction house people normally would place a bid for items. That map starting price will be ten copper. If you like to stay and place a bid it will start in a few hours.” answered Krithan to the companions while pouring out coins on top of the glass top.
“How about you keep two of the silver coins and let me just take the map with me that should be perfectly suitable. Probable even more than you would get from the auction house.” Reku asked trying to skip the auction house for the day. So he could go out and search for the remaining supplies. While seeing what else this world had to offer at normal markets.
Krithan again agreed happily knowing he gained more than the map was worth. While slowly counting out the agreed upon price to the two patrons in front of him. He gave the two companions one hundred gold coins and seventeen silver coins with one hundred coppers. The hundred coppers equaled the one silver. Which made it the agreed upon price. Reku also was informed that a hundred silver equaled one gold coin.
Krithan informed Reku that since he did not have much currency that he giving him a coppers worth of silver. Not everywhere he went would people be able to break a silver or gold coin. Taking the map and rolling it up Reku put the satchel with the coins. Thanking the man the two companions left the auction house.
Stepping out from the auction house the streets were bursting with life. Men and women running all around doing who knows what. Walking into the street the two companions crossed the street. They went up to a shop with a sign of a picture of shirt. Which the Reku took as a clothing or armor shop. Inside the shop was a elder man. With a scar across his left cheek and wearing tan shirt and worn out brown pants.
“Sir we come in search of armor. Would you happen to be able to have any.” asked Reku to the store owner.
“Dear customers armor cost a lot to make. Would you simple like a little cloth instead.” asked the store owner looking at the two dirty and not well kept people in front of him. One was not even human.
Taking ten gold coins out the satchel and laying them on the table in front of the elderly man. Staring at the gold coins in front of him. Shocked that these two dirty young kids had such money. Feeling ashamed that he judged someone by their appearance.
“My deepest apologizes my friends. What kind of armor are you looking for.” answered the elderly man with deep regret for disrespecting the ones in front of him.
“we would like two leather clothing sets that also has small leather scales overlapping each other like fish scales. On one shoulder I like a picture of a tree on the other a snake. Lastly on the chest a nine tailed fox. How much for two sets made like this cost us and how long it will take to be made.” Reku asked the elder man in front of him.
“It will take three days before it is ready and will cost 2 gold coins. Is there anything else I can interest you in” encouragingly asking the ones in front of him to spend little more coins.
“ You may keep the other three coins one for labor and the other two and you can make extra clothing worth it made of fur or cloth. It doesn't matter just make some for the two of us” Reku said.
“For the two of you sir? You getting some for your servant.” the elderly man said with a strange look on face.
The look humans gave to others that were not from there race really pissed Reku off. To judge someone that was not the same as others pissed him off the most. After getting the two got measured from the man. The two left to find the last thing they needed before heading back to the hotel.
The last place they went was a herbal shop. Going inside Reku found the shop thriving with all kinds of plants, flask even few scrolls that explained combining herbs and making potions. The lady that lead this store didn't talk much to the two.
After looking around and hearing what the owner of the auction house said. That most would not be able to break the gold coins and all. Reku simple ask how much everything in the store would cost and to pack up. He and Nuwa bought everything from flask, scrolls and every type of herb the lady had. Which she had no issue with when the gold coins were put into her hand.
At most normally she be lucky to earn a few coppers a day . If lucky she might be able to earn around ten to fifteen silver a year. Now within one go she sold all her supplies she had. Five gold was way beyond what everything was worth. Making a sign that said closed she hung it on the door.
Informing her that they would come back in three days to collect the supplies. The two companions went back to the hotel to rest for the day and eat. Walking the hostess from the night before greeted them happily. When Nuwa and Reku told her they would be staying for three days and need room and food.
After informing her he gave the lady a silver coin. Telling her he knew it was a lot more than price. They may ask her to go get a few things if they needed. She agreed with no complaints the only thing she seen in front of her was high paying customers.
Matter what world you went to money seemed to change everyone mind. Even if they did not like the person in front of them. People would still serve them if they had money. The next two days the companions stayed in there rooms. So they would not attract any more attention to themselves.
The hostess had waitresses bring the two food and drinks a few times a day. Normally they would simply knock on the doors and when one of them opened it. What ever food the cook made at that time would be waiting. There be water sometimes or tea but always had biters of ale or wine. The ale was very bitter and tasted horrible. When the Reku tried it he was not a big fan of it.
It was the first time he ever tried liquor which when he drank a glass with the meal. Made Reku get light headed and felt sick. That was also the last time he drank it. Nuwa on the other hand even though still seemed to be a kid. Took a drink when Reku was not looking and drank a full glass in moments. Nuwa didn't seem to have any effect on her.
She said she enjoyed the taste of ale and when asked about being light headed from drinking the glass. Informed him that she had no side effect from the liquor. Knowing this made Reku seem like a major lightweight or she had some ability to nullify the effect of the alcohol.
On the second day in the room before they were about to leave the following day. Reku went down to ask the hostess how much a pair of horses cost along with a pack animal. To young mans surprise they only ran about a silver coin per normal horse. Whole pack animals ran about half a silver.
How could all the things he sold got him so much money. Was his fortune that good it made Reku feel like he had a life times worth of coins. From just selling a few items he collected during his time in this world. Now all he had to do is finish up his time in this town and go back to Kuruzome before something went wrong.
His time in this town showed him that about a three fourths of every human. Did not like people that were not human. If they overstayed their welcome here. There was no telling what someone might do. If given the opportunity there was never telling what someone might do. Just cause one could not image themselves doing something did not mean another would not.
Outside the room Reku heard discussion about a arena fight. Something about creatures fighting to death. What kind of place did they come to. To make things fight for others profit. The two of them really did need to hurry up and leave. They just had to endure little longer.
Going down stairs the hostess showed the companions a set of four horses and two pack mules. Instead of two horses they asked for a case of need to change horses. The hostess said four would would give them both a change of ride giving whichever one they were riding a break. The extra wait on one's back would tire a horse out after a long ride.
The horse that looked the most promising was a pure white horse all but its mane which was black. Looking at it the black mane on the horse looked more of like a scar. As it didn't go with rest of the pure color on the animal. Nuwa on the other hand enjoyed the one with a reddish orange colored horse. Petting its back and face Reku could tell the young girl fell in love with the one in front of her.
Leading the pack mules behind them as they rode to the cloth shop on the horses. Nuwa getting on the saddle of the horse at first frighten her. When she put her first foot on the saddle rack. To boost herself onto the back of the horse scared the life of her. She believed the horse would either throw her off or she would fall. Neither of these two options she liked very much.
Once she got on the horse she was tightly holding onto the reins. Even though she was worried about being thrown off she smiling from excitement and enjoyment. Seeing the girl so happy these days brought a smile even to his face. This entire trip she never noticed all the evil looks people gave her. That or maybe she just didn't care because she was with him.
From the time he found her in there terrible seen. Her family and friends slaughtered all around her. She never spoke of it she just simply seemed to try to get her mind off things and keep busy. While they were shopping for supplies she never asked for even a single thing. When she found out he was having clothes made for both of them she was happy.
While leaving the clothing shop for there leather armor for protection. He also informed the shopkeeper to have a nice dress made for her. He was not sure what the shop keeper would have made. Reku only knew that she would like anything as long as it was pretty. All girls he knew always enjoyed pretty things. This he learned in his other life.
When reaching the clothing shop and going in. There were dozens of bundles of clothing laying on the ground. With many different designs and shapes. Even more dresses than Reku suspected in the bundles.
Near the window was two sets of leather armor that Reku asked for. They looked more amazing then he imagined in his mind. The leather was a crimson red tint. Feeling the scaled leather which if he was right should provide more protection. Then common metal armor while still keeping the light weight of leather armor.
Each of the two sets of armor was made to protect the full body from the head to the legs. If anyone would of asked if he would wear armor in his past life. He would of laughed it off but in this world and all its vicious monsters. Walking into the back room both of the two companions to try on the leather outfits.
Nuwa stepping into the back room was little embarrassed cause staring at the suit. She had no idea if she was supposed to take off her clothing to put on the outfit. Looking at it confused maybe she supposed to keep the cloth clothing on. It was quite confusing this was her first time. She never even seen any of her kind wear anything but the cloth fabric. One reason was because no one knew how to make or could afford to wear anything else.
She decided to take off her cloth dress as it would get in the way. She slide the leather breastplate over her bare chest. Once she had it she pulled to tighten the straps on the side near her ribs. So no part of her chest would be showing to any onlookers. Sliding on the tasset or leather skirt. Which felt very revealing as she had nothing underneath. The last thing she slid on was the gauntlets. Which was the most comfortable and natural of the set.
Even though part of the suit was revealing it made her happy. The one she loved thought of her and had it made to protect her. All she could think was that she could never repay the kindness that he showed her. He never asked anything from her in return for his kindness. Yet, he always turned around and did it again and again.
