《Thank you, Mr. Robot》Prologue: Unlikely events

The story begins on the planet Prosperous. This planet was, as the name suggests, a prosperous homeworld of a humanoid race called The Serrans. They were a race of incredible intellect, this allowed them to discover many useful and powerful secrets of their universe. They used these secrets to manufacture machines and devices such as robotic workers, flying vehicles, sustainable power generation and most importantly dimensional portals. These portals were still in their testing phase. They currently only send objects to a random dimension and no proper use for them has been discovered.
One of these portals was installed at the home of the lead scientist of the project. The scientist was currently cleaning out a workshop that used to belong to his great-grandfather. He wanted to study the portal, that he installed in the middle of the workshop, in depth so he needed more space for his testing equipment.
While cleaning he found this old robot helper, that his great-grandfather seemed to be working on before his untimely demise. It seemed to be one of the older models, since it's face looked really robotic, the new ones all had similar faces to the Serrans. But it was clearly modified, maybe his great-grandfather wanted to improve the design or something.
But since it was really old and rusty all over it did not seem useful, so he decided to push it over onto their hover cart so they can take it to a recycling plant. Suddenly something unexpected happened, his child came into the workshop and scarred him, just as they started to push. And like some sort of payback for calling the robot useles, a piece of metal fell off the robot's leg and made him trip.
Right onto the console for the portal of course, random buttons were pressed when he landed face first into the console. The portal started opening, making loud humming noises while growing bigger. Bigger than it should have been.

˝Shit, this can't be happening, we have to get out of here.˝
The scientist quickly picked up his child and started running out of the workshop.
˝Damn, just my luck. I probably set the size of the portal to at least 10 times the amount it should have been.˝
While running away he continued to swear. When they got outside he put his child down and said to him:
˝Just go find your mother and tell her to come over to the workshop.˝
The child looked scarred, so he just gave them a hug and pointed at the portal that swallowed up half the workshop.
˝This is as big as the portal can get anyway, so we are not in any danger.˝
The child gave a small smile and started running off to their house while shouting back:
˝Ok, I will go tell mom, she will probably not be happy about the workshop.˝
The scientist just looked at the portal slowly and facepalmed.
˝Oh, I am so fucked, she was looking forward to investigating the portal with me.˝
˝And all the equipment she bought has probably been sucked up by the portal.˝
And so he decided to around to the other side of the warehouse to see what remained. Just as he got to the other side, he saw the old robot slowly sliding off the hover cart into portal.
˝At least I don't have to take that piece of junk to the recycling plant, hehe˝
But little did he know that this piece of junk had value to some beings. As the robot completely fell into the portal it somehow went online and saw a big piece of text.
