《A curious cat's life in a new world》Fight with a Cockatrice

As the strong gust of wind slowly dissipated they saw a creature with sleek gray feathers perched on a branch of a plant that resembles the Kauri Tree. It's majestic red crown hanged to the side of it's head while it's razor sharp claws are clamped deep into the tree branch. In a moment it inhaled a full breath of air and puffed out it's chest as it menacingly glared towards the sky as if in defiance against the heavens. The proud beast stretched it's neck out, spread it's wings and widened it's stance before finally letting out a howl that resounded throughout the forest...
KOOOOOOOKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIYOOOOOOOOKKIIIYOOOOOOO!
Kale: "Not again... this is the n-th time that this cockatrice escaped the farm. Hey what are you thinking about little one did that scare you?"
Kale noticed that Airi hasn't been moving as it stared at the large flock of cockatrice gathered below the tree where the sleek brown cockatrice was perched.
Hen1: Cluck-cluck "Your majesty please grant us your gaze!"
Hen2: Cluuck! "Kyaa! So handsome!"
...
Airi: stomach growling (These are chicken. Chicken are my and mom's favorite. Mom makes food with chicken. Food means chicken nuggets... CHICKEN NUGGETS!!!!!!) gulp
Without thinking twice Airi immediately rushed towards the flock and slowed down to prowl as the cockatrice continued praising at the cockatrice on the tree.
Kale: "Hey what do you think you're doing!"
Kale's shout alerted the flock and the cockatrice atop the tree saw him. The confused hens began looking around nervously.
Hens: uuurkk? ("What's going on is the keeper here to take us all back again?")
Majestic Cockatrice: Kkiyookk.("Don't worry it's just the Brownie from that exploding house.")
rustle rustle ... rustle ...
Majestic Cockatrice: Kkiikkyoookk! ("You there get away from that maiden!")
Just as Airi had begun to pounce on a hen the cockatrice dove down from the tree and landed a kick on her and placed himself infront of the flock to block Airi's path.

Airi: growl ("Who are you? How dare you deprive me of my chicken nuggies!")
Majestic Cockatrice: Kkiiyuurrkk kkyoookk! ("I am the one who shan't stand idly by as you struck fear into the hearts of these fair maidens. My name is Prince, now back off vile creature into the pits of which you came from")
However as Prince stood inbetween the heartstruck flock and the hissing Airi with her claws clenching the ground he felt dread. Yet he still glared back courageously at Airi as he stood his ground. Prince thought to himself
Prince: (How did I get myself into this mess? Please just go away already I'm still too young and handsome to die!)

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
