《The Creep of Fate - Dropped》Chapter 15

“Hey Lugh what took you so long?”
“I just needed to get used to the amulet.”
“I heard that you dominated the competition. How did you write all of those in such a short period of time?”
“I didn’t really write any of those. I just plagiarized from a friend of mine.”
Joseph laughed and said “If the other nobles found out they would be green from regret.”
“Anyways how did you do in the noble tournament?”
“Good, not the best but still strong enough to beat my brothers.”
“When is the next tournament?”
“Its an annual event.”
“Oh, that’s good.”
“Are you actually going to join it next year?”
“Of course.”
“That’s good because if you join I can enter the tag team tournament.”
“Do you have any allies/friends besides for me?”
“I wouldn’t be the main successor if I didn’t. But my main support is from the commoners.”
“No noble support?”
“Besides for you I only am allies with the Deepheart family.”
“Deepheart family? I’ve made sure to learn all of the houses and political powers in the capital but I’ve never heard of the Deepheart family”
“The Deepheart family is the royal family of the Leviathans.”
“Why did you choose support of the Divine Beast families instead of human families?”
“Because the Divine Beast families power exceeds our nation's power and Divine Beast rulers don’t have power changes very often unlike human powers”
“Even if the Divine Beast families powers exceeds the human nobles power the Divine Beast families are far away.”
“Even if they are far away their future successors aren’t.”
“Who?”
“From the Kitsune side you and your sister are both from the True Family and from the Leviathan side there is a kid named Sarah who is the direct descendent of the current Leviathan king.”

“The True Family?”
“You really don’t know anything about your own family?”
“If I knew would I be asking.”
“I wouldn’t be the one to ask but basically if you are in the True Family you have a top tier bloodline.”
“Okay. Do you know why Kitsune abandon their kids at 1 or 2?”
“All I know is that it is a recent tradition.”
“Anyways I want to meet Sarah where is she?”
“Sarah is currently helping her family in the Royal Reef.”
“Royal Reef?”
“The Royal Reef is in the depths of the ocean.”
“I just realized how much I don’t know about this continent.”
He laughed and said “Of course, it takes years to learn about every part of this continent. Anyways do you want me to give you a quick geographical lesson about this continent? ”
“Yes please.”
He told be about the general locations of the continent. The main points are that we are the only country on this continent, we are surrounded by a giant ocean, have lost contact with other continents and the Royal Reef is in the depths of the eastern sea. It is also where the Leviathans live. After the mini geography lesson I asked him “I’m assuming that you wanted to talk about something more important.”
“Yeah, I wanted to ask you if you know about your family's condition?”
“What happened to my family?”
“Well it’s not just your family but your entire race.”
“Continue.”
“The Phoenix clan declared war on the Kitsune.”
I shocked. I couldn’t even think clearly for a couple of minutes. Thankfully when I could think I was somewhat calm. I activated my amulet.
“Give me specifics please.”
“You reacted better than I thought you would and currently it isn't a true war but the Phoenix clan revoked their peace treaty. Other than that I don’t really know much.”

“Do we have any allies?”
“Yeah, for beast allies you have all of the nature alliance and for the mortal allies you have the Elves and Dryads.
“What allies do the Phoenix clan have?”
“Fire Giants and Dwarves.”
“Why would the Dwarves want to support the Phoenix clan?”
“Because the Phoenix clan is offering them Eternal Flames.”
“Eternal Flames?”
“Once a Phoenix dies they turn into an egg and live anew but when they die they leave a little bit of flames that never die. The Eternal Flames also auto tune their temperature for forging and before you ask Dwarves value forging over their lives.”
“I at least know that much about Dwarves and have the Phoenix clan burned down any forests yet?”
“Actually about that the Phoenix clan won’t because the Luna clan said they would join the war if they do.”
“Luna clan?”
“You truly know nothing. The Luna clan is a combination of wolves and other canines.”
“If you inherit the throne will you help my clan?”
“Of course but I need the throne first.”
“When will you inherit it?”
“In 5 years.”
“Don’t you just have to conquer the throne since you're of age?”
Joseph had black lines forming on his forehead and said “I’m 16 right now.”
“WHAT!”
“I’m only 16.”
“You look like you’re 36.”
“To think that I was going to give you housing at the palace.”
“I have no idea what you are talking about you look like a young 16 year old.”
“I can’t hear you.”

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
8 142The Rift of Syn Doa
Every twenty-six years a rift opens, connecting the Ursei and Shirrah realms. Inside that rift, a magical ore can be found and harvested. This magical ore is capable of granting magic to any species or extraordinary abilities to crafted goods. Both realms fight fiercely over the rare substance, but war is not the only danger. The Doa Shrykes, feral monsters with a voracious taste for blood, await them inside the rift as well. This is a WIP, and subject to change, reorder, and future edits. Upon completion, there is intent to publish. Cover art will change as well. Any suggestions/recommendations, comments, rearrangements, etc. are much appreciated, since I'm trying to beat this into shape and have it be the best it can be. :D
