The main character(king of the kingdom of Mainz)

"Your majesty, there has been a new city established in the southern continent due to the fact that we have found gold there. They have decided to name it new Trieste and are starting to rapidly grow in population due to the amount of gold prospectors going to that area." said Hemann.

I don't know why they name places after their homeland. It probably is good for me as they will have some sense of belonging to their homeland and won't go independent. After putting all this effort in them, I don't want them to go independent, do I. Anyway, it looks like gold has been found near new Trieste. It is expected as most of the land in the southern continent except for the north of the southern continent has not been exploited. This will probably restart the gold standard debate as we are getting gold from the Rostok empire due to the fact that they are buying weapons are using gold to trade.

"Is the inflow of population increasing crime rate or is everything stable." I asked Hermann.

"The inflow of population has caused the crime rate to increase by a small amount but it is being dealt by the colonial government there. They don't need any extra police force. Our department can't handle colonial affairs for much longer. It's too much work and I propose to establish a colonial ministry and have them handle colonial affairs." said Hermann.

The ministry of economy was currently taking care of colonial affairs. It must have been too much work for them and it would be out of their experitse. Colony's are also the long term national strategy of the Mainz empire as there are a lot of resources in them. Expanding in the central continent is just too taxing and you will get a coalition against you. Expanding in the southern continent is relatively easy as there isn't much colonized land except for in the south of the southern continent so Central countries won't try to interfere as I am not taking their land.

"Establish a colonial ministry. Their ultimate goal should be the integration of the colonial provinces. To do that, set them the task of immigrating as much Gretans as possible from the homeland and other Gretan countries. Also immigrate the poor and illiterate people from other countries as they are relatively easy to integrate when dispersed. Immigrate as much as possible from the homeland so that our mainland dosen't get overcrowded. If our country gets too crowded, we might have to enact 1*Malthus's population control theory." I said with the last sentence being said jokingly.

He then nods but asks me something looking confused.

"Your majesty, what is Malthus's population control theory. I have never heard of it."

I forgot that this world dosen't have Malthus nor Karl Marx but an idea of communism definetly exists. Nobody understands the references of my old world as expected as expected. It's just a bit lonely and sad as I probably look like a lunatic when I say things like this. I told him not to worry about it and he left to execute the orders I gave him.
