《Idle Gaming In Another World》Chapter 7 : Second Summon

They go to the forest on the outskirts of the city. After making sure that there are no one in their vicinity, Aozora nodded at the sword princess.
She opened the game, go to the character section, and then poke the image of her new character. She saw the new option within it, and she picks the Deploy option.
Light shined through their surroundings, causing them to cover their eyes. After the light dims, she slowly lowered her arms and take a look at her new summon.
Only to be met with the edge of a large black blade.
"Where am I?"
She hasn't processed what is happening when suddenly, a red blade presses itself on her assailant's nape.
"Stop, or I will be force to strike you!"
This is the first time she heard the serious tone of her first summon. She is still trying to process what is happening.
"Where am I?" The giant black edge got closer to her face, causing her to step back.
She glances at the one holding this large blade and saw a girl much more smaller than her. She can be mistaken as a middle schooler just by her height.
Her crimson eyes and black slits are coldly pointed on her face, her hair the same color as ash moving a bit to the side as the princess' sword inched on this girl's skin. She is mostly wearing black, and have a suit that can be considered a mix of military uniform and a tailcoat. There is a red armband on her left, and her white chalk face is covered by a scarf that have a grinning teeth as a design.
The girl is ignoring Austina's threat as she stares at her intently.
'This is Nahmat!'
Nahmat. The name of the girl currently pointing her blade on her face.
If she remembers correctly, this is the girl who singlehandedly massacred her whole race, becoming the sole survivor. It is because they wanted her heart, something only unique to her, that she was forced to fight for her life.
It is her story arc, and it is sad. Though, compared to other characters from that game, hers can only be considered as mild.
She is still trying to process what is happening when Nahmat's cold glare became overwhelming. An overwhelming sense of fear overcame her, which is something of a first experience for her.
Aozora is someone who is not easy to be scared. Though, it seems like people who lives on the Fragmented Continent are on a different level.
"Wait! I don't mean any harm!" She raised her hands up in the air.
She instinctively said that, and is still trying to compose herself. The blade moves away for a bit, the grip of the girl a bit loosened as she looks at her in surprise.
Then, Nahmat looks around her and widened her eyes at the sight. The grip of her sword finally slackening. Though she is still gripping it, but her focus is now elsewhere.

Aozora steps back, and she is surprised when Austina got in-between them in an instant, her sword ready but is not pointing at the girl anymore.
The ash haired girl looks around her in wonder, curiosity and amazement evident in her eyes. "How?" Her question was left unanswered, but she is unperturbed as she kneels to the ground, looking at the grasses on her feet.
Austina's stance slackened, and she looks at her in confusion. "What is happening?"
Aozora is also trying to process, before widening her eyes. "Oh. I see..." She mutters.
The story of Chaos Child is that the world has already ended. Only the remnants of that world remains, trying to survive on a dying world. The main theme of the story is survival, and the team behind that game goes all out, making it as dark and as sad as possible.
So, being a death world, one of the fundamental things of that world to function is absent. That is nature.
There are no trees existing there, and not even a moss can be seen. If a plant is discovered there, then that would be either a gross amalgamation of a Disaster, or the work of a crazy Chaos Child.
True plants doesn't really exist. It is a relic of the past.
So seeing these much greenery will be very surprising to her. Aozora knew that she will be surprised, and will see these plant as genuine.
Nahmat have an ability that is canonically shown on the game. That is the ability to sense life.
And, while not really shown, she thinks she can feel that these plants are very much alive, unlike the ones on her world that are just imitations without life.
"What is this place?"
The Chaos Child glances at her, seemingly done looking around the greenery.
"If you are asking where we are, this is the outskirts of Meister City. But if you are asking about this world, then all I can say is that this is a Parallel World."
Aozora said despite feeling threatened at her strong and cold gaze. The girl stares at her for awhile before latched her blade on her back. "What do you want from me?" She glances at her, the overwhelming aura vanishing from her.
She scratches her cheeks. "Actually, I summoned you to help me live in this world... I hope it is fine for you?" She felt unconfident with that.
"Okay."
"I know you really won't like it and... wait what?"
"I will aid you." Nahmat moves forward and then stop a few meters at her. "That's all you want, right?"
The way she asks that is so calm, like she is utterly detached to this world. The tone of her voice is always in monotone, it's like she is reading a script without feeling anything about it.

"... Yes." Despite her cold expression, Aozora faintly detect some hints of happiness on the child. She can only nod at her.
"Oh. Nice to meet you...?" Austina stood between them and greets her with a cautious smile.
Nahmat just nodded at the princess before glancing at Aozora. "So, what now?"
Her tone feels scary, but somehow, Aozora can feel something innocent in her tone. Like an honest curiosity is brimming with just those cold emotionless eyes.
"Right. Next thing we should do is..."
Registering Nahmat to the Adventurer Guild Branch of this city has been done without a hitch. The Chaos Child is currently looking at her Adventurer Card curiously as they try to walk out of the guild premises.
As they got out, she felt her stomach growling, causing the Chaos Child to stare at her.
"Ah. Sorry, I think I am hungry." She sheepishly scratched her head.
"Then, let's find somewhere to eat."
Austina led the two of them, hopping happily with a smile. Aozora is looking at the princess in confusion. 'Where are we going? Does she know any place here?' She raises her eyebrow at that.
Nahmat is just following behind them, silent but her glance kept moving around the city.
Aozora notices it and she felt her face threatening to smile. 'Well, this is her first time seeing these many crowd in one place.' She put her focus back on the road.
After walking for awhile, they got to a street stall selling some skewered meat.
"Let's try this out!" Austina is enthusiastic, lining up with the people there.
Aozora just shrugs and turns to Nahmat, only to see her staring intently at the skewers.
"What is that?"
"That's a meat skewer." Aozora felt like slapping herself at her instinctive response.
"Is that a form of torture?"
"Holy crap, no!" She widened her eyes at the claims of this child.
"Then what is it?"
"It's food. Isn't that obvious...?" She paused. "Wait, I think you don't know what it is?"
"Sustenance?" Nahmat's stare is becoming more intense. "Why does it smell good?"
The way she stares is unnerving, it's like a doll facing her.
'Right. That world doesn't have food!'
Not just food, but many things in that world is gone. Things that are essential for survival.
As to how they managed to survive, it is because they adapt and use other ways to acquire sustenance. Nahmat didn't have any problem with this being effectively immortal, and even if she eats, the only thing she knows is absorbing blood or life forces.
"Would you like to try one?"
The Nahm quickly nodded, and if she have a tail it might have been waggling furiously. Aozora can't help but let out a chuckle and almost tries to pat her, before she manage to stop.
Nahmat just tilted her head. Aozora shook her head before leading her to the street stall.
"How much for that?"
"One serving for 2 coppers!"
Aozora turned to Austina, who quickly rummages through her pouch before putting a silver coin. "How much for that?"
"That's a huge sum. I think I can give you at least this whole batch."
Aozora looks at the amount of skewers in it and saw roughly 50+ in it. It seems like the guy is not that good at calculating huge numbers, but Aozora thinks a silver coin is equivalent to a hundred copper coins.
"Let's do that."
"Okay. Please give us that whole batch with that silver coin."
"Okay!" He grabs all the skewers, covered it in some large leaf, and then handed it to them. "Thank you for your patronage!"
Austina carefully took it and then put it in her right hand as she took one skewer for her left. Then she presented the batch of meat skewers to them.
Nahmat is staring at it. "Okay. You can take one first." Hearing Aozora says that, she slowly raises her hand and try to pull one of the skewers.
After pulling it out, she looks at it curiously. She moves it side by side, looking at it's every angle. She even sniffs it and stares it for a lot more.
"Come on. Just take a taste!" She felt a bit frustrated seeing the girl just staring at the food.
Nahmat stares at it for a long while before she finally presented it to her lips, moving the grinning scarf down. With a loud chomp, she took off two cubes of meat out of the skewer.
"Hm!?" Her eyes widened, the normally stoic look gone as she quickly bites on the remaining meat. She chews on it as her free hand rested on her cheek, a look of bliss overcoming her.
'Cute!' Aozora can't help but feel attracted at the melting expression of the Chaos Child.
Nahmat snapped her eyes open and look at the empty skewer. Then she turned her gaze on the batch of skewers carried by Austina before quickly getting close to her.
Austina is surprised when she sees Nahmat staring at the skewers, though she is not making a move.
".... You can take more if you want?"
Just after she says that, Nahmat took ten more of the skewers and sweeps one of the skewer whole. The princess is surprise to see the cold ash haired girl becoming a ravenous glutton.
She glances at her Master and saw her just shrugging, like she expected it somehow.
