Day 36

“Lord Dracul, I have transmission to report.” Control said as he walked into one of the Royal Training Chambers of Castle Zalama, named after the dragon god.

The training chamber room was utterly massive, with windows replacing the room’s walls, allowing the occupants to see the outside of the Castle Zalama where one could watch the beasts roam the land. Dark crystals sprouted the room with candles anointed on top of each one, giving off a dim light in the room itself.

The stoic hobgoblin on finds Dracul passed out on the floor with Lady Rumi and Zoesette breathing heavily.

“... What’s is the transmission Control?” Rumi asked, catching her breath. The crimson red iris threatened him to submission as the harshness in those eyes immediately made him kneel in her presence.

“My lady. I have intercepted a transmission from the dark armies. It seems that certain humans from small nations have pledged their allegiance to the Dark Master. Soon after, a personnel transport was detected drive through Regal sector, reportedly wearing the logo of The Royal Amarr Institute, which, as you might know, is one of the major corporations within the Amarr Empire. It seems that our taking of Warfang put a massive pause to their plans.”

“Why the fuck da fuck do we care ’bout dat shit?” Zoesette demanded, crossing her arms.

“The contents of the cargo are for the humanoid members, and we currently lack making weapons of our own that would benefit us. So shall I send Dragon’s Dogma on this mission, my lady?”

“No,” Rumi said. “Send Rexy and her team. I need to show a certain idiot that his team is not the only one who can do missions.”

“Yes, my lady,” Control said and left the training chamber.

…..

Rexy turned to her squad, staring each of them in the eye. “Dino Commandos, you are well aware that this mission is of utmost importance. Nothing can go wrong.” She watched as each of them nodded in affirmation. “Nothing MUST go wrong!” She reiterated.

“We understand,” Terry responded.

“Very well,” Rexy stated as she marched up and down in front of them. She barked instructions at them, thus, “I’ll take point on this mission. Mandy, you’ll be our eyes and ears out there. While we wait inlay, you’ll scout the mobile transport and once you spot it, signal us, and we’ll rush out to take it down.”

“Gotcha,” Mandy replied.

“Good. Zoe, Fiona, and Terry, you know what to do,” Rexy reiterated.

“Yes, we do,” the three Dino Commandos responded in unison.

“Okay, with everything in order, let’s move out.”

With that, the squad began heading out for their mission. Hardly had they walked up a short distance that Rumi and Zoesette caught up to them. The black dragoness blocked the Dino Commandos’ path. “Where are you hurrying off to?” Rumi asked.

Rexy, the leader of the Dino Commandos, spoke up, “I’m leading the team on a mission to intercept a massive shipment and take it down.”

Rumi nodded in understanding. “I thought as much… Well, you’ve got new leaders on your mission.”

“Who?!!!” The Dino Commandos asked in unison; confusion etched on their faces.

“Us,” Rumi and Zoesette stated at the same time. Then, Zoesette, their dino princess, began, “We are taking over this mission now. Any objections?”

The Dino Commandos shook their heads in response. They couldn’t dare challenge Rumi and Zoesette as they were the wives of their superior, Dracul.

They are not even going to ask why Dracul is passed out 13 feet away.

“Awesome,” Rumi stated, her eyes a deep shade of red, beautified by her black pupils. “With no objections, let’s get moving now. We can’t afford to waste time.”

“Yes, let’s get moving. We’ve got so much to do, and Dracul would be so proud of US and the team,” Zoesette cooed gleefully.

“Hopefully,” Rumi replied as the unit continued on the path. “So far, all we have done is fight each other all day. Dracul is hurt because of us, and if we to do this together. He might give us messages again.”

Zoesette packs the dragoness on the back. “Don’t worry! Afta dis mission our hubby be goin’ ta regret makin’ us git along... Bcuz’ naw we git ta gang the fuck up on da stupid, handsome, muscled...”

The hybrid trailed off with drool down her face.

After they had walked for what seemed like an hour, they arrived at the crossroads where they would be intercepting the cargo.

“We’re here,” Rexy announced.

Rumi glanced up at the sky to determine the hour of the day. Then, after observing for a moment, she declared, “Let’s get in position. We ain’t got so much time before the cargo arrives.”

“You heard her; shuffle. Get your ass moving,” Rexy said to her fellow Commandos.

“I’m on it,” Mandy stated, heading further than where the squad was huddled.

Zoe, the tactician of the squad, picked up a stick. “For those who weren’t present when we conceived the plan of attack,” she glanced at Rumi and Zoesette to make her point. She then began to make tactical illustrations on the ground while saying, “Once Mandy gives us the signal, I will rush into the middle of the road, as I am the biggest among us. The transport vehicle will stop. As soon as it does, Rexy and Fiona will attack it from the left while Rumi and Zoesette attack from the right. Terry will provide backup for whichever subunit needs help… Capeesh?”

“Yes, we understand,” Rumi replied. “But if you talk to us like that again. You will not like my response understand!”

“I should level up after this, right?” Zoesette asked herself. “Ditto, my bitch.”

“Very well. Let’s split up then,” Rexy stated.

With that, they broke into three subunits and lay in ambush for the transport vehicle’s arrival.

Rumi and Zoesette made small talks while they waited, discussing what Dracul’s reaction might be when he learned that they spearheaded the mission and pulled it off successfully. The Dino Commandos wouldn’t be considered an inferior team any longer.

While The Dino Commandos will finally get the Dragon’s Dogma to shut up.

They fight as much as Dracul and his wives do when they’re in heat.

As they discussed in whispers, they were interjected by a loud shriek that rented the air. They needed no one to tell them that it came from a Triceratops. With Mandy being the only Triceratops nearby, they knew it was the signal they were waiting for. They braced themselves, prepared to pounce.

Zoe was the first to rush out. She stomped to the center of the road before she looked up at the incoming vehicle. Her eyes widened in horror, “Oh, my!” She exclaimed. The vehicle was a behemoth and the largest she had seen in all her life. It was a truck of several megatons, and it stretched farther than her eyes could she. It looked like a train, and she had to glance down at the tires to confirm that, yes, it was actually a truck. It was so big that it dwarfed the Apatosaurus.

What petrified Zoe wasn’t only the sheer size of the truck but also the fact that it didn’t seem to be slowing down as it got closer. The truck had gotten a few yards again before she regained her composure and returned to her senses. Wielding her elemental power, she sent forth a powerful gust of wind that hit the truck with a loud, crunching metallic noise. Slowly, it began to reduce the momentum of the vehicle, even though the human driver was stepping on the accelerator with all his might. Unfortunately, it didn’t yield much as the elemental power of the Dino Commando was too much for the vehicle’s mechanics to resist. The truck groaned at various points along its length before it came to a halt in front of Zoe.

The other members of the Dino Commandos were watching from a distance under cover of forestation. As soon as the truck halted, they rushed out, ready to engage.

“Go, team!” Rumi commanded as she and Zoesette headed towards the right side of the truck.

The first thing Fiona attacked was the front tires of the truck. She sliced them open so that the truck wouldn’t be able to leave that spot. The sound of escaping gas that followed was sweet music to her ears.

At that moment, compartments began to open in some of the cargo containers linked to the truck, and out of them jumped humans, wielding various weapons. The driver also hopped out of the vehicle, but Rumi had already anticipated that, and she pounced on him. The last things he uttered were inaudible prayers.

Realizing that their adversaries were only on one side of the truck, Rumi and Zoesette joined the other Commandos.

Rexy, Mandy, Zoe, Fiona, Rumi, and Zoesette, stood in a single file, menacing in their appearances. Terry was still out of sight, observing from a distance so she could jump into action when a Commando got in trouble.

Zoesette took a step forward and spoke, “We know you’re ferryin’ contraband in dis monstrously long truck o’ yours. We’ll give yo’ two options …” she paused for her words to sink in before continuing, “Yo’ eitha walk away, leave da truck n’ itz cargo wit’ us or yo’ meet yo’ goddamn demise, here n’ naw.” Zoesette grinned evilly. The sickly green of her aura shows just how powerful she has gotten from being Dracul’s second wife and willingly fights her rival.

Nothing in her words inflected that she was joking. The threat was real and well-conveyed.

One of the humans stepped forward, a blaster in his hand. From his dressing, he seemed like the superior of the lot. “We don’t negotiate with bandits. Leave our path, or we’ll bring you all down.”

Zoesette shook her head piteously as she uttered, “So, yo’ choose a dirtnap.”

For the next few minutes, silence reigned. It was clear that neither party would back down. There was no other way to resolution than violence.

The Dino Commandos rearranged their formation as they prepared to attack. Before them stood about thirty men and women brandishing their weapons of different kinds. A lot of them wielded guns, while others held knives and some held spiked clubs.

The Dino Commandos knew their adversaries were about to attack, evident in the look of desperation on their faces. Then, with her wind power, Zoe conjures an air bubble around the Commandos, and just as she did, the humans began to fire their guns.

The bullets made little noises as they hit the air bubble. Unable to pierce the barrier, they clattered onto the floor.

This continued for a while. At a point, Mandy noticed that Zoe’s strength was beginning to wane, so she decided to help out. From behind the safety of the barrier, she conducted thunder down with her elemental power. It struck the guns, and the humans holding them cries out in pain as they were electrocuted. Some were flung a long-distance away while others clattered their teeth and danced around on a spot before life went out of them, and they fell down.

That act alone had taken out one-third of their enemies, and the remaining humans had no other option but to engage in melee combat. Infuriated, they began to charge towards the Commandos.

The Dinos split, so they wouldn’t all get caught up in the same spot. As they spread out, the humans broke into small units to attack each Dino. It proved to work out as the opposite of Divide and Conquer as, in their smaller units, it was easier to pick them off than if they had attacked a single commando with their full might.

Fiona used her elemental ice power, and she froze the ground beneath the unit attacking her. They were running hard, and they couldn’t pump the brakes in time. As a result, they fell and began to slide towards Fiona’s raised leg. The first human unfortunate human that got under her foot met a brutal end as the Commando brought her leg down and crushed him into pulp.

Seeing what had become of the man in their vanguard, the other humans began to scamper on the ice in a futile attempt to get a grip. The one amongst them who held a club smashed it against the ice, and the spike lodged into it. He pulled himself up and jumped off the slab of ice which seemed to work as a death contraption as his companions were still being squashed under the Dino’s foot.

“I’ll kill you!!!” The human exclaimed as he raised his spiked club to swing at Fiona’s head.

She caught him on time. “No, you won’t,” she stated as she sent a torrent of ice blades flying at him. They impaled the human all over his body, and when he crashed onto the ground, his corpse was like that of a medieval knight that had met an unlikely end at the hands of a herd of archers.

Meanwhile, Mandy was engaged in a duel with a long-knife-wielding female human soldier. With her horns, Mandy parried her attacks. At a point, the human soldier made to slash at the Dino’s leg, but Mandy had anticipated this. She sidestepped the attack and missing her target; the human soldier lost her balance. Mandy saw an opportunity to attack, and she rushed forward, piercing the human soldier’s chest with her horn. She raised her head up and flailed the soldier around in the air a few times before she flung her away. The soldier flew several meters in the air before she landed on the cold, hard floor, unmoving. There was no chance she could’ve survived that.

At that moment, Dracul’s wives were battling about ten humans at a time. The black dragoness had no problem vanquishing her enemies. At times, she even taunted them a little, riling them up before she ended their pitiful lives. The dino-kaiju hybrid was also reeling in the somewhat formidable challenge that the relentless humans presented. Nevertheless, she dispatched them with ease, a warm sense of fulfillment filling her insides up.

One by one, the humans fell until there were only four of them left. Then, they converged at a point, with their backs to each other.

The Commandos circled them like a predator that had cornered its prey.

“You put up a good fight, but you meet your end now,” Rumi stated. As the humans began to plead for their lives, she cut them off. The black dragoness turned to the Dinos and nodded at them. The signal was received and well understood.

Without further delay, Rexy, Mandy, Zoe, and Fiona channeled their elemental powers and attacked the humans at once. Fire came from one side, ice blades from another, thunder from yet another, and wind blades from the fourth side.

The humans screamed in agony for a short while before their voices quieted forever.

Rumi looked around at the carnage with pride. “Mission accomplished,” she declared.

“Urg.”

The ladies wiped around to see Dracul getting up.

“My head... What the hell is going?”
