Volume 1: Epilogue
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Demon grabbed him by his long shimmering, beautiful hair and threw him across the room when this happened, she gasped. At that moment Paul’s strongest attack was released. With this It was finally over or at least she had expected it to be over. However the Demon general laughed while Paul fell on his back filled with fear, and he wasn’t the only one. Everyone was scared. The heroes were quickly realizing that it wasn’t all just fun and games. The royal family were now facing their destruction
Now she stood still and fully accepted death. Hnev, otherwise known as the rank 4 Demon General had come to take the heroes. In the end all her plans and her parents strategies had been made utterly useless in just one day.
“It’s my fault. I’m sorry because I’ve been half-assing it.” that voice came from him.
She had fallen head over heels for his looks. She knew nothing more than his name but she wanted him. She knew that, but as the first princess her life depended on whom she married . Her only brother had been sacrificed to fuel the summoning ritual. Whoever she married would become king of Kovolava and her the queen. She needed a strong puppet whom she could control and so she set her sights on the heroes. She had flirted with Paul much to the chagrin of her little sister.

Elden started taking his crushed armor off. Those Gentle green eyes she admired were now filled with an intense killing intent. He then took his sword and cut his hair. The hair she envied was now tragically shortened up to his shoulders. He then started moving faster and faster towards Hnev.
No! Run way! she had wanted to scream. Elden threw his hair at the Demon and then disappeared in a blur. In the next instant a cut appeared on the demon.
“Hmm. A little bit too much speed huh? Nearly kissed the wall there. but I gotta say, you’ve got some seriously tough skin.” he said and disappeared again as another cut appeared on the demon.
“Ok then. I think I’ve got this down.” Elden jumped up and stretched. He then pointed Thundercrack towards Demon General Hnev
“Let’s get this party started.”
Cuts continued to form on the Demon’s body. It all happened too fast for her to comprehend.
“You dare!” Hnev bellowed
While he screamed that even more cuts appeared on him.
“Heh, this is some great combat practice.”
Hnev rushed Elden as he said that and ended up crashing into the wall. Furious at the fact that Elden had dodged out of the way he turned and roared.
“Let’s hope you can deepthroat it!” said Elden haughtily as he shoved his Sword down Hnev’s gaping mouth. He then sent a thunder shock wave down into Hnev’s body and in the next instant Hnev’s chest violenly exploded sending blood, skin, and organs flying everywhere. Leaving a large gaping hole in the middle of his body.
Hnev was making gurgling noises as he clutched at his throat slowly collapsing. Elden jumped off of Hnev’s shoulders after removing his sword from Hnev’s throat. He then turned around and said: “Looks like I came a little early.” while Hnev collapsed on the floor right behind him.

Yletta fell ever deeper in love as she looked on at Elden she whispered under her breath “He came too soon.”
◇
Demon Lord Hrdost sat on his throne. 4 weeks ago he had sent Hnev of rank 4 to capture the summoned ‘Heroes’. Hnev was 3 ranks lower than him but he was no lightweight. It should have only taken a week to arrive at the kingdom, another week to find and capture them, and another week to return to his castle. A total of 3 weeks was the maximum amount of time it should have taken Hnev to return. Although he preferably had wanted all of the summoned heroes but he was fine with just having one or two. So it was within his predictions if Hnev had killed a few of them, but now he was more than a week late. There were very few possibilities as to what could have happened. Either he had completed the mission assigned to him or he had failed. If he had completed his mission then he should have shown up in front of Hrdost already.
Is Hven planning to rebel with help from these heroes?
Hrdost had chosen him for the very reason that Hnev was a fighter and was less cunning than his other subordinates. As the the strongest and as the Demon Lord he constantly dealt with threats to his throne. It pained him to think that he’d have to deal with Hnev and enslaved heroes. At that moment someone entered the throne room. It was Pichy she was Hnev’s second in command but unlike Hnev she wasn’t as easily angered.
“Great Lord.” she curtsied bowed. Not many of his vassals were loyal enough or rather subservient enough to bend their knees and only treated him with some form of respect as the highest being.
“What is it? any news?”
“Less than news, there have been rumors of humans parading the corpse of a Demon general throughout the Kovolava Capital. Usually we’d assume it’s another ploy to improve human morale but with my Lord missing....”
“I understand. You have my permission to send people to investigate.”
“Yes of course.” Pichy smiled lightly. She had already sent people to investigate long ago but she needed time to think of a plan to replace the now dead rank #4.
She stepped out of the throne leaving a smiling Hrdost on the throne.
Such a situation had been out of his predictions.
“This is going to be entertaining.” he said at the thought of finding something that would maybe bring him some slight joy into his mundane life.
He summoned a small grey golem no larger than a monkey.
“Send a message to rank 7. He might be interested in this.”

However, the difference between accepting the law of fate and obeying it without a grumble had always existed in a human society.
