《When Death walked the world》Chapter 23

Landfall watched as the undead's hateful gaze regarded them one by one, though she couldn't help but be unnerved when the skeleton's gaze lingered a second more on her. Did he figure out? Does he know that she is an undead? She shuddered.
She knew about the skill {undead domination}, which only worked on the weaker undead. She knew that the monster before her was without a doubt strong enough to dominate her, and since she was one of the strongest members of the group it would be a tough battle for the others, maybe they couldn't win this. No, they definitely couldn't.
She signaled to the others behind her back to retreat, while she mentally readied herself for the invasion that was sure to come. However, nothing happened. She was ready to receive the attack, and fight with her body and soul on the line for control, however nothing came, instead the undead somehow conjured up a crystalline throne when she wasn't paying attention.
The lich king sat down, keeping a steady gaze on them. He spoke.
The bearer of the voice was old, wise beyond measure. His words were backed by iron confidence that could only come from strength. From absolute belief that he stood at the summit of power.
"Heroes, hmm something is not right."
The 13 members of the group waited with withheld breath for the skeletal monster to continue.
"Answer me this, why?"
They stood there waiting for clarification as sweat beaded on their foreheads. The aura of the monster was seeping out, painting the surroundings in dark and crimson.
"Why are you so weak?!" He practically shouted out of frustration while he struck the tip of the golden staff hard against the ground, the aura of darkness surrounding him exploded and covered an area of over 100 meters.

The aura of despair was powerful, the heroes could feel their grasp on life loosening, as if their body decided that it was just easier to give up, lie down and die. Only a select few of them remained standing, namely Evileye and a nameless warrior. They were both undead, thus exempt from under the impact of mental afflictions.
A glint of interest shown in the eyes of the skeletal overlord before he disappeared from the throne and reappeared in front of the nameless warrior. He reached out his skeletal hand and crushed the head of the warrior with ease.
He turned his attention towards her, as he began walking. With each step Evileye felt closer to death, she could swear that she heard her heart beating louder and louder with each thump. Her mind refused such an absurd idea, she was an undead, her heart stopped beating decades ago. The only explanation which remained was that the fear she felt had made her hallucinate.
She fell to her knees before the undead king and closed her eyes, silently awaiting her inevitable demise.
…
Evileye regained her senses when she woke up in a damp place. Thanks to her vampiric nature, she could see in the dark and the first thing which she did was confirm her surroundings. After confirming that there is no way out, she sat down in the corner and thought back to the events.
Incredulously, the lich had allowed her comrades to flee and did not chase them down. She was spared, technically she was captured, but still she lived it is better than dying she guessed.
She wondered, what use could she be to such a powerful being? Why would he spare her, or for that matter why would he spare any of her group? She pondered and yet found no answer. She would meet with him again, sooner or later he would call for her, and she would have to achieve any impossible task given to her if she wished to live.

Ainz was overseeing his spoils of demon hunting. He had captured many powerful demons at the world's standards, but to him they were only between level 20 and 60. To him, they were nothing extra, in truth he only bothered to catch them was because he was interested in what is the difference between these demons and that of Yggdrasil. He would probably let the children kill them and start levelling up. It was time already. It was time they made themselves useful.
After the confrontation with the Demon King, the heroes ran into him. He acted out of turn after seeing their levels being so low. In the end he decided to capture the highest level of the group, it was just a bonus that she was an undead as well. He had no trouble rewriting her memories of the event.
He wasn't the least surprised when he found that all the higher level evil deities were demons he knew from Yggdrasil. He thought, "So, not only players, but NPCs are getting transported as well, interesting… I wonder if Nazarick will be soon to follow?"
…
At the time of the Evil deities' descent only the nation of Dryadalum survived with little to no casualties. The forces of the supreme one had easily repelled the invading demons, and when a greater demon appeared Ainz had personally dispatched it in a single spell.
The devotion of the elves reached new depths towards their savior and ruler that day. Soon that day would be recorded as a holiday, dedicated to the nation's savior, being the 3rd such day they celebrated.
…
Somewhere around the middle of the continent a tear in space-time opened and a man dressed in yellow stepped through. He wore a golden cloth with a hood, his face was obscured by a mask and a pendant adorned with a strange yellow sign hanged in his neck. A family of similarly colored tentacles oozed out from under him. Abruptly an unearthly sound resonated in the air – he made a rhetorical question.
"Now, now where are you, Cthulhu?"
At the same time more and more abominations left the portal behind him. His loyal army of brainwashed minions were ready to take on the world. They staggered like zombies, without thought, with their only goal being to fulfill the intent of the master.
Bound mind, body, and soul they marched… Their being moved ever so closer to certain doom by the Unspeakable One's will.
