《When Death walked the world》Chapter 2

After the incident Ash and his sister travelled to a nearby village, lead by the hope of finding sanctuary.
His sister kept looking at him with prideful eyes ever since witnessing his power. It had left her speechless. Unbeknownst to her Ash was worrying. He was thinking about the events that took place. He wanted to make sense about his vision; Death had appeared before him and saved him. Then he received a revelation from the God of Death himself. He wanted to tell the villagers, but he concluded that no-one would believe such a fairy tale anyways, so he decided to keep it to himself.
The forest was dangerous and as such the locals were on their guard with a good reason, after all for 2 kids to under take such a journey was unbelievable. If they were really attacked by demi-humans, then it was entirely possible that they ran away in hope of finding help. It was a death sentence to get lost in the wilderness, even if you were lucky enough to avoid the monsters, some of the demi-humans were shrewd and had set up traps all around the Great Forest of Gob. It was also plausible that they were demons disguised as humans, so called doppelgangers. Nevertheless, in the end they welcomed them.
...
Early next day the siblings were awakened by screams infiltrating their tent. It seemed that the demi-humans had followed their trail up to the village…
There was chaos, the villagers were running up and down, some looking for their loved ones, others for their valuables. It was then that a strong charismatic voice cut through the air:
"Men to arms! We have to defend our home! TO ARMS!" Roared the village chief while he swinged his staff down on one of the unlucky goblin warriors.
Fire burned in his eyes, as he looked around his men, he took a deep breath, feeling his aged lungs expand, and raised his staff, the symbol of power …
"Protect your home, protect our community, protect your FAMILY!"
The men filled with vigor, rose and took up arms, in less than a moment they were already intercepting the flooding waves of enemies. Even though there were Orks and Ogres in the lines of goblins, they did not back down.

A strong fighter was able to take down, one or maybe two Hobgoblin, but they were no match versus the Ogres and much less so against the Orks with their unfair healing trait.
They understood that it would be their end, but they fought on nonetheless in hopes of protecting those they held dear.
…
Over time the battle unfolding turned into a massacre as the village men were cut down like animals meant for slaughter. The siblings ran to escape the sight, but the place was already surrounded by the forces of demi-humans, and there was no escape.
The defenses mustered by the locals were rapidly overwhelmed. The few who managed to fall back to the last defensive position had no way of holding the enemy should they rush at them again. On the battlefield they could hear the monsters snickering. Their horrid laughter was boisterous for they felt victory in their grasp. The wind picked up, and the men could feel their cold sweat slowly trickle down their skin…
When all hope was lost something indescribable happened. An anomaly broke the law of the world, when a dark swirling mass of energy bent space to its will. A portal formed, and the tip of a gold staff emerged, directly after followed the wielder. All stood still in his presence, the dread radiated was on a different level,… the most battle hardened veterans of beast-men warriors were pushed down to their knees. Even the Sun gave before the might of the new arrival, as day turned into night.
There was no doubt in their minds; Death had come to collect their souls. The question "Why? Why now?!" ran through the minds of many present.
In intricate dark gown Death stood there, in the darkness of his hood two red orbs blazed threateningly. The staff he held seemed to have its own will as 7 golden snakes swirled around the shaft, while emanating an oppressive aura on its own. Countless souls' wails were heard as they resurfaced in the surface of the item endlessly.
The skeletal overlord towered over all those present. Orks and Ogres might be higher than him in terms of pure physical parameters, but his presence was a whole other matter.

"R-run! We have to run! Wh-Why won't my body move?! Commander!" Several warriors of the tribe cried desperately.
They would not get an answer, the commander was already having a mental break down as his eyes clouded over.
"Wh-what is that?" No sound escaped his mouth.
He was from a family of lions, one of the bravest and most respected out of the beast-kin. The commander felt his body shivering, and his muscles strain, he was unable to move even an inch. It was such an overwhelming feeling, that his body did not obey his mind, his self-preservation instinct kicked in, and it told him,… it told him that to move was equal to forfeiting one's life, thus the command is denied.
The humans were dumbstruck as well, they had already expected that this would be their last day on the world, still to be smited down by such a great being,…
"Hah, we never had a chance, did we?"- Commented one of the peasants.
Death flew down from the sky and landed next to one of the unassuming humans, the child did not move. Out of fear, or was some spell cast on him? They could only guess. Everyone waited with withheld breath for the mortal's demise under the touch of Death, and yet the next thing which takes place left them confused.
Death's gaze lingered on the boy, finally he spoke.
"Why do you fear me? Did I ever harm you?"
The child slowly shook his head.
"Hmm,.. Good. I was wandering the woods and I heard the turmoil, and so… I was curious, but now that I am here I don't see much..."
Said the anomaly as he showed his back to the boy and let his glowing orbs wander on the rows of demi-human soldiers. "Huh, such low level trash. They are weak even for mobs. Should I deal with them? I guess it would suffice to do a good act everyday… Who knows, maybe I can gain some valuable information."
"Welcome demi-humans, beast-men and other lowlifes… it has come to my attention that you relish in the suffering of other intelligent species such as humans.… Now, we can't have that, do we?" He spoke with his adamant voice, which left no room for negotiation.
The offenders took a step back, as sweat ran down their backs. Death stood before them, and held out a bony hand. Then, they heard:{Maximize magic, Extend magic: Death}.
The villagers watched on, and nothing happened at first. Then, one by one the monsters who had terrorized humanity with their unrivaled strengths since time immemorial fell over and laid motionlessly in the dirt. Goblins, Ogres, Orks, beast-men there was no difference. They all succumbed to Death's terrifying power.
Soon only one remained standing. It was a white lizard demi-human in a weird outfit, she was certainly the shaman of the attackers. Her eyes dilated from the shock and the sheer terror that ran through her. She was broken out of her shock when she heard Death speak.
"Huh, interesting.. to resist my spell at such a low level. Is it an item, or an innate skill? Let's see. {True Death}"
"I got my hopes up for nothing, such a disappointment… now that I look around I doubt these primitive humans could provide valuable information, what a bummer! At least I managed to satisfy my quota for the day, Touch-me would be proud. Hah,.. Guess it's my que to leave..."
The gears turned inside the hollow skull of the overlord as he faded out of existence with the use of {Perfect Unknowable}. Totally oblivious to the effects he would have on the locals in the coming years.
That day great fear and respect was born towards the wanderer who saved the village of Maz. When asked for his name, he only said "My name is… Ainz Ooal Gown, but please call me Ainz."
That fateful day Ash was saved yet again by the mysterious being. He decided that he would devote his life to him, and he would make sure others also realise his greatness.
In the coming years a monument would be built to worship the savior and a cult would form dedicated to support their Lord should the need arise.
