(Chapter 9) A God Said I Should Rule, So Why Shouldn’t I?
The princess continued to stare at Ian, quite blankly as a matter of fact.
"H-hello" Ian waved his hand in front of her face
"Anybody home? Uh" Ian realized the princess actually zoned out
No, she was not composed and unfazed at Ian's arrival. Rather she had zoned out and had not noticed his presence, even while staring at him.
"It takes a certain type of person to zone out to this degree" Ian thought
Snapping his fingers in her ear the princess finally returned to reality.
"W-who are you!?" She stood up began to shout
"Hello, there is something I would like to talk to you about" Ian said while gesturing to the seat
"GUARDS" she began to bellow
"Don't bother, I sealed the area. Now please sit" Ian said indifferently
The princess feeling the pressure Ian was emitting finally sat down. It was then she realized the man sitting in front of her was handsome to a godly level. She zoned out once again staring at his face
"Hello? Hello? Ah, again?" Ian sighed deeply at the princesses seemingly short attention span
"Uh... Y-yes what is it?" The princess began to stutter while looking at Ian
"I have a question for you, and depending on your answer I will decided whether to help you or not" Ian stated
"O-ok what is your question?" She asked excitedly
"Do you want to rule this kingdom, do you feel King Kin is an incompetent fool who only knows how to run an army, not a kingdom?" Ian asked, watching her facial expression closely
Suddenly the princess's expression went dark as her eyes darted around the room
"Do you think so as well?" She asked grimly

"Yes, I do believe he incapable of fulfilling his role as king" Ian said with a light smile
"Ah, that idiotic brother of mine really knows nothing even beings like you are beginning to notice his idiocy" the princess sighed
"Not per say idiocy more like incompatibility with the role he was placed in" Ian smiled
"A role I believe you might be well suited for" Ian continued
Leaning back the princess looked at Ian with disbelief "And how could you allow me to acquire the throne hmm?" She said in a heavy tone
"I have various ways, no necessarily orthodox but... I have ways" Ian replied
"Please give me an example" The princess asked with curiosity
"Mass murder of opposing nobility, assassination of your brother, using blackmail to force opposing nobility to support your cause. Lots of ways!" Ian replied with a happy smile on his face
The princess began to have a cold sweat down her back as she saw Ian bring up terrifying topics with such a pure smile on his face. "O-oh yea those could work"
Ian smile began to fade as his prismatic eyes shined with a blood red hue "So let me ask you again, are you willing to rule this country?"
"Y-yes" The princess replied fearfully
With his eyes returning to normal Ian's smile returned to his face "Good! I will get to work, trust me you will not regret this at all!"
Getting up Ian opened a portal and walked through leaving the princess alone on the balcony
Standing on the roof of the castle Ian drank some immortal wine whilst staring at the surrounding landscape
"I forgot to ask her for the list of the opposing nobles..." Ian thought gloomily
"It's going to be embarrassing as hell to have to come back and ask for it when I left in such a unique manner" Ian continued his thoughts

Ian never really had to open a portal, he could have just teleported from the spot, but to leave a distinct god like impression he exaggerated his departure
"I really need to stop trying to impress people with such elaborate tricks, just vanishing from the spot would have been as mystifying. Ahh I need to stop with these fantasy villain exits, it's completely cringe worthy now that I look back on it" Ian thought quite pissed with himself
Clenching his fist Ian thought "No more useless badass exits and shit, let's just stay practical... Unless the situation really deems for a badass exit... No wait that would just make all of my latter thoughts redundant"
Ian sat there continuing to confuse himself with useless thoughts
"Ah screw it I'll just do what I feel like in the moment, really what does it matter?" Sitting up Ian finally untangled himself from his redundant thoughts
Looking over the city and the plains surrounding the manmade structures, Ian sighed
"Although the medieval Europe setting is quite appealing compared to martial worlds the natural landscape aesthetic is really lacking" Ian thought
Turning to face away from the landscape Ian walked back to the princess's location to receive information on the noble opposition
_______________________________________________________________________________
"Okay so there is about 30 nobles out of 50 who are opposed to the princesses cause who actually hold any degree of political power" Ian muttered while reading the list
"As long as I can force the remainder of the opposition in the noble faction to support the princess she should be set, now where to start"
Walking down the roads Ian approached a lavish home, looking up Ian's face began to display an odd expression
"Of course, the first one I choose has to be like this, I feel like my karma is being manipulated" Scoffing Ian rejecting the thought
"I'm not even linked to karma anymore the chances of my being controlled are minimal, it's more likely that I'm just choosing the worst possible choices and generating an odd sequence of events for myself" After repeating the possibilities in his head Ian decided he was just really bad at making good decisions at the moment. Of course, that could change on moment's notice so Ian moved on with his thoughts
"Now to deal with this noble" Ian gloomily looked at the noble's home

Maker Of Power
Reality turns Legend. Legend turns Myth. And Myth vanishes over time. But not these Myths. Not this Legends. Not this Reality. No. These are stories that everyone knows. Stories sang time and time again. Tales of magic powerful enough to rival whole kingdoms. And the people that wield that magic. Everyone knows them. The tale of Velacinir, the Great. The song of Alek, the Skilful. The Legend of Waner, the Lost Smith. The Myth of Kaveli, the Unifier. All people know these things. These Storys, Legends, Myths, Tales, Songs. And mostly everyone thinks they never happened. But they did. And I was part of them. All of them. I was there. I might not have been the one to kill the dragon. The one that found the skill of resurrection. The one that fought whole armies for their family. I might have not been those people but I was there. Because although I may have not done those things, the people that did it weren't created from night to day. They did not just appear. They were taught like everyone else. They were just better at the things that people taught them. That I taught them. Yes. I am not the one that songs are being written about. I may not be the one whose legends perdures even until today. But one thing I am. I am their teacher, their instructor. I am the one that made them what they became. I am... Who am I? I had many names through the ages, but there was one that stuck to me the most. I am the Maker of Power. But like the ones that I thought. I was also a normal person before everything that happened. And this is how it all happened. This is MY Story. MY Legend. MY Myth. MY Song and MY Tale. This is MY beginning. And YOU SHALL LEARN IT. ------------------- Release schedule: Nonexistent.

This is the story of how James Allen Quick and Sarah Lynn Abernathy died. By 'died', I mean that their hearts stopped, their brains ceased sending electrical impulses, and all other physical functions terminated. Immediately after which, their bodies were placed into an industrial furnace, reduced to ash, and the ash was spread about in one of the last forest reserves in North America. As ash-spreading locations go, this ranked third. First and second places were, of course, a person’s favorite athletic team’s playing field and the sea. Or rather, I should say that this is how the story begins. You see, it’s what came after that is so interesting.
