《Galduta》Undying Thoughts

-----Nick's POV-----
I sat in the boat on a cooler Scar brought along on the trip for some reason, the woman who shot me whose name I learned was Rebecca sat across from me cradling her son's unconscious body. It took every ounce of my willpower to restrain myself from ripping her throat out here and now but for now she was useful. Apparently, the little runt entered a half transformed state and had been subconsciously using magic when Scar......mistreated her. That piece of information had been immensely valuable as until today I had been the only one in the new world which was capable of such a feat. I pondered what was the cause of his sudden ability to wield magic but the only conclusion I could come to was it was him having my blood flowing through his veins. I consulted Scar on this and he believed that unlike him, Eren and the others, the runt was the one closest to me in likeness. I agreed with that theory, it appears that directly infusing my blood into the child had caused him to inherit some of my other traits besides my magic. His lycan form, for instance, it closely resembled my form and we also shared the same color eyes upon transformation. In the end, I decided I would deal with this situation later as I had other problems to take care of, I think as a "Criminal Organization" we had been far too passive since our formation, it was time to change that. I was interrupted from any further thinking by the barely contained rage in Scar's voice cutting through the "silence" which had descended upon us. "I swear to Fenris, Mr. Fargas I will punch you in the throat if you don't shut up" Sighing inwardly and getting to my feet, I approached the bickering duo and asked: "What has you so riled up?" Scar's head turned to face me and with an exaggerated sigh, he said "This idi........gentleman insists on playing 'I spy' in a place where there is nothing to spy" he did his best to keep his voice level but a sliver of anger found its way in. He had always been like that, so eager to prove himself to be a capable individual. I had contemplated killing him during our first meeting and I would have if he hadn't said those words which struck me hard and made me pause, 'why are you so sad Mr. Wolf?' I chuckled at the memory, only a child, which he was at the time, would stare down an angry abomination of nature and ask why it was sad. He had not escaped the situation unharmed though, that scar across his eye is proof of that. I was interrupted from the reminiscing by Eren's voice saying: "Of course there's something to spy, IT'S BLUE!" his hand did an exaggerated flourish in a 'look around you' gesture clearly referring to the ocean....or maybe the sky....maybe I should kill him instead. Their friendly banter was broken by a small voice we all heard even over the roar of the motor "Grandpa" the voice said weakly "where are we? How did we get on a boat?" I turned to the little monstrosity and raised a brow 'he doesn't remember anything? Odd' Putting that thought at the back of my mind for now, I walked up to him much to the horror of his mother and stooped down to his eye level, reaching a hand out slowly towards him his mother grew increasingly worried, she seemed smart enough to know even if she tried something now it would still be hopeless. Frankly, her fears were partially unfounded as all I did was ruffle the little tyrant's hair "had a good nap kid?" I asked with a smile, I admit the kid was cute and he might have even grown on me a little (seems juuuuuuust a lil pedophile-ish eh Nick?). "My neck hurts" he said while rubbing the back of his neck, I wracked my brain for an appropriate response to the kid but being unable to think of any I just opted to tell the truth. "Well you lost control of your temper for a bit and almost killed your uncles" I said with a smile on my face while jerking a finger in the direction of Eren and Scar while still patting his head, the kid's eyes widened in disbelief before shaking his head and grabbing my hand with both of his hands "Grandpa, mom says it's not good to lie, you'll end up in a very bad place" I chuckled and got back to my feet leaving the kid and his stumped mother alone. Scar as usual still had a stoic expression while Eren just stood to the side nodding sagely "hmm yes yes" he said with his eyes closed "something you wish to share with the rest of the class?" I asked curiously "Hm? Oh no no nothing to concern yourself with" he said and turned away to face the ocean "I'm an uncle" he whispered under his breath excitedly, I chuckled quietly at his antics and turned my gaze to the wide open ocean before falling back into silent contemplation. -----Scar POV-----

The rest of the journey was spent in silence apart from the child asking the boss a few irrelevant questions. I steered the boat all the while reflecting on my actions back at the beach, My temper had been explosive. Although I had a justifiable reason to be angry, killing her just for slapping me was still a bit extreme. Maybe the explosive temper came with the change, I mean I'm no longer human, I mean I look like one now but I am not deluded as to think that that is what I am. The rest of the journey back was spent with such thoughts circling in my head. We all exited the boat, I heaved the cooler onto my shoulder before taking my cell phone out of my pocket and making a call to the base to request a ride. We waited patiently with a very nervous "Rebecca" until a black 4x4 SUV pick-up truck pulled up an hour later. The boss got into the front seat while I, Rebecca and the kid got into the back seat, Eren made himself comfortable in the cargo bed and when we were all strapped in we drove off. Arriving at the compound we made our way through the gates and down the path, the sun's first rays were beginning to peek over the tree tops casting an orange-ish glow onto the dirt path. Through the trees, I could make out several glowing yellow irises carefully following the vehicle. The silhouettes of several men and women could be seen standing in front of the large mansion at the end of the path anxiously waiting for something. As the vehicle came to a stop in front of the group and we got out one by one, Eren being the first to leave, the faces of the men and women grew increasingly worried as they scanned every face that exited the vehicle. Nick took his time getting out and as such was the last to exit, immediately upon seeing him big smiles spread across their faces. "Did you miss me?" he asked with his ever-present smirk, it had been his trademark for as long as I knew him. He was arrogant some might say but I didn't think so. If anything Nick seemed bored, not the type of bored one has when they have nothing to do but the type of boredom one has in their eyes when they had lived past their time, he was bored of life. I had known him for thirty of my forty years of life, whereas I had changed with the passing years he had remained the same, like a boulder in a raging river, unmoving and unchanging. The men and women gathered around him and one by one gave him a hug, one woman was forward enough to kiss him on the cheek, Leanna I think her name was, causing his eyes to widen slightly. He smiled at her and patted her head like an elder would their grandchild which left Leanna slightly disappointed. Leaving them to enjoy the reunion, I made my way to the intelligence room really it's just a room with a few laptops used for information gathering and a flat-screen television. I knew if Nick wanted to find me then he would do so, making my way to through the compound I was stopped by a familiar face. "Something I can do for you, you old badger?" I asked her to which she snorted and replied " Just making sure you're not dead yet, that pleasure is reserved for me" she quipped, I chuckled and for a few minutes we stood in comfortable silence. "Care to accompany me to the intelligence room?" I asked her with a bit of hope in my voice, she smirked which showcased her deep laugh lines and her emerald green eyes scanned my face. "no need to be so nervous, Ivan" she said while sweeping her dirty blonde hair behind her ear "Is this your idea of a date?" she asked with a playful smile, my nervousness rose in level at the mention of a date, so much so that I was beginning to sweat. I swear this woman scares me more than the boss does, I've known her for the past eight years. The first time we met we hated each other, I didn't like her because I thought she was a loose woman and she hated me because apparently, I have an 'arrogant air' about me. Despite our initial opinion of each other though the more time we spent together the more I realized I was wrong about her, she is distant and cold to most and only talks to a select few. "No need to get so worked up Diglett" she said with a sigh "It's about time you worked up the courage to ask me out" she said and walked away, I stared at her departing back in a silent stupor before following. 'I suppose I could take a break from my thoughts' I thought to myself while smiling.

Fall of Jupiter
What happens when the most powerful man in the world loses his soulmate to a heart attack? What happens when an innocent woman is dragged into a world of magic, and superheroes? Who is the true hero of the story? Note: This is the first book I ever wrote seriously. (I even had a cover made before I decided against publishing it) I'd like to think my writing style has improved with practice, and the multiple other books I've worked on. It felt wrong to leave a nearly completed book gathering dust in my google docs, but I don't think it's good enough to be officially published. As a result, I'm putting it here instead where it at least won't be totally wasted. Eventually, I'll put in the last 10 hours or so to finish it for you guys. Hope you like it :)
