《Shit Hit's the Fan RPG Style (Rewrite》Chapter 8 what waits in the dark

I walked down the railway making sure I don’t miss a thing even in the darkness that’s surrounding me. The fairy is flying ahead of me to light up the surrounding area, so far though we haven’t seen a creature or anything that can even be considered as life. If I’m right though there should be a train up ahead, the power is out down here so they’re not running at the moment which is both good and bad.
This place is perfect for night dwelling creatures and a breeding ground for bacteria so if you get harmed down here and survive you will die from an infection or sickness. The apocalypse has affect everything that I can think of so what has it done to bacteria, if we’re lucky it just makes it easier to get sick. As we drew closer to the next station we could see a train in front of us with its door ripped off, as I approached I could smell the pungent smell of decay and it wasn’t little either.
We were greeted with a bloody mess that filled the train, the walls ceiling and floor were covered with remains and not just human parts. Whatever did this also eats its own kind and not in a human manor either, I drew my spider glaive then descended deeper into the train I could hear the crunching of something along with small moan’s of pleasure from further in. I walked forward passed the fairy then opened the door, the smell itself almost made me pass out but the scene was even worse.
Ghoulish creatures were all over the place either eating or fucking some even doing both; they were hairless green humanoids with glowing blisters covering their body. Sharpened teeth and claws with pure white eyes indicating they are probably blind.
Lesser Ghouls
creatures of darkness with insatiable appetite they will eat anything and everything and they are not limited to other species, on the contrary they love their own flesh, blind but smart creatures perfect for ambush's in darkness
“Shit.” (Me)
The creatures turned to me followed by screeches and growls, the charged at me falling over each other just to get to their new meal. I slammed the door before they could get to me but it wouldn’t keep them there for long, I grabbed the fairy and ran towards the end of the train. I jumped out and kept moving back until I was a safe distance from the train then switched to an AR-15 along with several Molotov’s. I know I’m breaking my own rule but there are too many of them to face alone even with my enhanced abilities, the ghouls flooded out of the train and from the top and sides!

I fired with one hand as I used the other to light the first Molotov, once ready I through it straight into the train but the ghouls didn’t care and charged through it. They moved forward lighting others on fire but then suddenly blew up taking a few others with them; the smell of sulfur filled their air which made it even worse. I was pushed back by the constant assault by the damn ghouls, the tunnel filled with corpses creating a corpse barrier between me and the living ghouls.
The gun jammed in the middle of clearing another wave which didn’t go unnoticed by the ghouls waiting for their hard earned meal. I pulled out my machete again and charged forward towards the horde, it was a massacre to say the lease but they still got their revenge. My body littered with wounds as I approached the subway exit, the ghouls still following close behind me but were slowly decreasing as I made my way up the stairs.
As I approached the surface I was blinded by a spot light and soldiers still dressed in uniforms, they held their guns ready to fire at a moment’s notice. Standing to the side was a woman with a cold gaze with a sword at her side everyone looked surprised when they say me appear but soon it was replaced with hostility by the howls of the ghouls behind me.
“So the military is still in control, interest…” (Me)
I fell to the ground finally succumbing to my wounds unable to even lift a finger as the ghouls and military approached me, the fairy hid in my bloody jacket wanting to stay hidden from our new guests. The last thing I saw as I passed out was the soldiers taking care of the ghouls that followed me.
God’s Realm
“interesting so there was a human that could grow in this hellish world.” (Elderly goddess)
“It doesn’t matter he will die in a few days anyway, we both know this is just the start.” (Burly god)
“Yes but she is right about this mortals strength, we all know how hard the reckoning is after all it was the only way us gods could be created.” (Smart god)
“All of you are forgetting that he was given one of the weakest gifts given as well, he is surviving purely on skill if you read his record you would see this.” (Elderly god)
“Such cruel fate shouldn’t even be created, no matter I shall watch over him from now on I recommend you four select your champions as well.” (Calming goddess)

“Lily we both know that you have already set your sights on him the moment you met him.” (Smart God)
“That’s not true Tom I only chose him after he showed me respect and even pointed out some flaws with the system.” (Lily)
“I still want to kill him.” (Burly God)
“Enough of that Vile you’re just made I like him more than you.” (Lily)
“Enough you two let’s watch a little more until we decide the fate of this mortal, he has survived this far on his mental strength alone but we don’t know how long that will last.” (Tom)
“He’s right you know, best continue observing them until we are sure about our champions.” (Elderly God)
The gods disappeared one by one until lily was the only one left watching Grim, he features are the same as before but her ears and tail are gone and instead she looked more human. Dressed in a thin layer of clothes that brought out the best of her body, she waved her hand making Grim’s colorful final burn to ash before disappearing from the room.
Grim POV
I awoke from my slumber only to find myself in a cell with the fairy nowhere to be seen, I was dressed in plain white clothes. A simple meal was set to the side for me while the camera in the corner blinked showing it was on, I sighed as I got up only to have pain shoot through my body and the clothes turned bloody.
I pulled up my shirt to see some of the stitches came loose but they would only be new scars to add to my collection in the future. I put down my shirt as I sat patiently for someone to come in, I didn’t have to wait long seeing how the woman from before walked in with the fairy in a bird cage. She looked so happy to see me but couldn’t do anything while inside her little cage; I stared at the woman who held the fairy like some sort of rodent.
“I see your awake and haven’t succumbed to infection or a virus from the ghouls, that’s good but we still need to know why were you in the underground and why have you come here?” (Woman)
“Let the fairy go.” (Me)
“You’re in no position to demand something out of me, now answer my questions.” (Woman)
“I said let the fairy go, I don’t give a damn what you do but if you harm her I swear I will tear this entire camp apart.” (Me)
“You still don’t get your situation; my men have been ordered to shoot you on site if you pose a threat that also includes any other creature that is not of human nature.” (Woman)
“Are you insane the world is changing and we can’t afford to offend anyone!” (Me)
“We are the US military in situations like this we have the right to act on the betterment of the country that includes the following.” (Woman)
“I guess I’ll have to change that then.” (Me)
I walked up to the cell door and was about to act before a middle aged man dressed in neat clothes and blonde hair grown down to pass his shoulders walked in. he had a calming aura around him but also a intelligent gleam in his grey eyes, the woman dropped the cage and put her gun away before saluting. This severely pissed me off; I pulled the door off the hinges then checked on the fairy, she was unconscious but uninjured I pulled her out of the cage then put her in the shirt pocket for safety before turning around to see the barrel of a gun pointed towards me.
The woman was still trying to act like she was in charge but a handgun wasn’t an issue for me anymore unless it is enhanced by the system which I doubt. The man that walked in walked forward then pulled the gun down so it didn’t point towards me; he turned towards me again and gave a small smile.
“I’m sorry about that the lieutenant is very strict about her job, will you be so kind to walk with me for a bit I have much to talk to you about.” (Man)
“Not the best first impressions, my name’s Grim the guild leader of the New World Order now what about you?” (Me)
“Sorry about that, my name is Leon the general stationed here.” (Leon)

Delve
Truth hides behind action. Delve. A word with many meanings. It may refer to an abyss, a dark place of no return or may also be a refuge, a haven of retreat from the harshness of the outside. None of those are right to me. For me, to delve is to seek the truth. Delving into that dark abyss and coming back with answers. To leave that safe refuge and suffer the pain of the outside just because it is real. This is the story of me delving deep into the truths of the universe. Suffering things that should not be suffered in search of things that should not be known. Once a common man, drowned in the same questions that have plagued humanity since the beginning of times, now I have found my answers. Now I have meaning. Delve, and you shall have yours as well. Jack is a regular citizen of modern society: he works on an office, uses public transport every day, receives a meager salary, and drowns his frustrations with entertainment and alcohol. Maybe, the only thing that sets him apart from many others, is his unique outlook on life. Despite feeling an unfillable void in his soul and suffering from deep depression, he still sees as his duty to be a functional, exemplary member of society. All in order to prove his life-goal point: no matter how good you are, life is still shit. This point-of-view, however, will be challenged by circumstances as a mysterious encounter with a weirdly dressed man takes him to a strange and dark cave. In this place, he will have to fight for his life against fantastical creatures from fiction, and more importantly, get face to face with his own nature. In doing so, he will uncover secrets about the cave that will change both him and all he ever thought to be true.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
