Chapter 20 :
(..............How did I end up back here? I’m positive that I walked in the same direction that I can from….. so I made a circle? Actually, I don’t care, as long as I got back here is what counts! The details is not needed.)
In front of Will was his “long” lost base. The black spike bridge, the wooden pointed fence, everything clearly showed that this was his base that he had finished making not long ago. Like a day ago.
Somehow, by magic or instincts, he managed to find his way back. Questioning whether or not he should be happy with his sense of direction, Will decided that it was better to just ignore the problem altogether.
After all if you ignore a problem long enough, it’ll go away!
(Well….I should make the bridge larger…. yeah, they probably won’t be able to cross that foot wide bridge with no handrails of anything….)
Turning to the shocked looks of the beastkin girls, Will implied with his cute tail spike for them to sit down next to the end of the black bridge.
Complying, as they really had no other choice, the beastkin girls watched as Will walk onto the bridge.
(Let’s see…. I think this can hold their weight….maybe….)
Pulling up the details for his ability.
Needle Creation (Level 9)
Allows the user to create spikes within a certain radius around himself.
The radius is determined by level.
Current Radius
-9 Feet
The amount created is determined by level.
Current amount :
-9 Pound
The strength and durability of each spike is determined by level.
Current Strength :
-Copper
Current Durability :
-9/9
The user can change the color of the spike produced.
Current color available :
-Black
(Seems like the ones I can currently make is strong enough to be copper….it is a strong metal, right? And I can make them up to 9 feet away from me, so I might be able to build bridges or something on another side of a river…well never really tried all the tricks to these abilities, so I might want to try out them and level them up more later….)
Recalling the scene of the T-Rex look alike on fire, Will planned to invest more time in training his other monster skills.

(Well, best to get started in changing this thing!)
Commanding 2 of his zombies to find fruits for him to eat, Will had the other 3 stand guard around the girls to protect them in case anything wanted to attack.
Using the more familiar ability, Will started reshaping the black bridge to what he planned.
The black “spikes” constantly being produced from his front paws were moving like a living creature, and positioning themselves to his image.
Quickly the shape of a handrail with a horizontal bar and vertical bars attached to the bridge’s base grew out from the bridge.
Moving forwards, Will slowly created the bridge handrail bit by bit.
“GRUMBLE”
Stopping his work for a break, as his zombies had already gathered enough fruits for him to eat. Will stepped off the bridge, that now had a few feet long handrail incomplete left on it.
The beastkin girls watched as Will took a bite out of the usual “Red Apple”, noticing their gazes. Will rolled a few of the “Blue Grapes” and other fruits he got towards them.
They hesitantly picked up the fruits, then seeing that he was happily munching away on the fruits decided that it wasn't anything dangerous….
One of the beastkin girl was just about to bite down on one of the “Red Apples” when another beastkin girl stopped her.
She took the apple from the confused girl and threw it as far away as she could. Although with her pitiful strength and malnourishment she was only able to make it fly a few meters before falling.
Right on Will’s head.
Luckily, his spike on his head protected him from being bonked by the red fruit.
The sharp tip pierced right through the red fruit, and juices from it ran down the black spike.
(Hm? Is something burning?)
Sniffing around, Will noticed the scent of something burning. At first he thought it was some idiot who left the stove on. Then remembering that their wasn't a stove here, or at least he wasn't aware of one.
He turned around to look at the oddly quiet beastkins, who a few seconds ago were softly speaking to each other.
Seeing the terrified expressions on their faces and dropped fruits they were planning to eat on the ground. Will followed their eyes above him.

(? HEY! My spike’s melting! Get it off!)
Quickly producing another spike below the one, Will managed to get ride of his head spike.
Leading on the ground, the culprit for the burning was revealed, the “Red Apples”.
Will blankly stared at the picture.
(I’ve been eating THAT?)
He watched as the juice from the “Red Apple” completely corrode the rest of the black spike. Melting the entire thing until it was only a pool of black liquid that then melted straight through the ground creating a small hole.
The entire place became silent, broken by the crying of the fortunate beastkin girl who survived the trial of food.
The rest of the girls looked at the surrounding fruits they dropped and kicked it as far as they could.
(........I really need to find out what I am eating here, this isn't funny…..I could have died if I didn't have the “Munchies” skill.)
Then like a bolt of lightning, a mystery in his mind had finally been uncovered.
(! THAT'S why my Poison Resistance was so high! Better check my status….)

(Interesting! I finally managed to level up! Yay! So it seems if I personally fight then I get the experience for myself…..and I’m already such a high level from those really weak wolves...but my necromancer job didn't level up since I got it to level 2….)
Now should be another great time for a little lesson in this world.
Here, humanoids, such as humans can gain “Jobs”. By investing time into their Jobs, they can level it up. However, they can’t just go from nothing straight to Paladin or something like that.
For example, let’s say a person got their first job. They wanted to become a strong Paladin, but they can first only choose a really weak class. Like a warrior. After a few years of effort, he got the job to level 100. Then he is able to proceed to a higher ranked job from the warrior job, like ShieldMan.
Restarting with a new job at level 1, he goes back to the same hunting grounds he went to before to level up his warrior job. He then realizes that his new job was barely leveling up at all, after killing enough enemies to level up several times as a warrior. His new job only leveled up once.
This is the way the world was created, as the jobs grow progressly stronger, so does the experience needed.
The higher rank or tier the job is, the experience needed to level up dramatically skyrockets.
The necromancer is a extremely high job, usually after years of constant battle can a mage get remotely close to it. Not to mention that after getting the job, the person loses their previous job and can only restart them from scratch if they wanted it to use it again.
So the necromancer job are super hard to get, as they are hated, hunted, and constantly pursuited by others. Unless the person is extremely lucky (like being born in a super dangerous forest) they usually end up dead after what happened during the last war.
Therefore the necromancer job is ridiculously hard to level up, with no other jobs to help them out since usually they had invest all their time in one job to rank it up. They have no way to defend themselves and battle well.
But if they do managed to level up high enough, they can become powerhouses with enough power to take down entire countries by themselves.
So, yeah…. leveling up a necromancer job might just be a LITTLE hard….
As a side note, those wolves are called “Death Hounds”. Usually takes whole parties of B rank Adventurers to take a pack down. That's with backup and support.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
