Also I changed my mind again, as seen. I'll just slap a chapter on whenever I feel like it. Or when I change my mood. Or really whenever I just decide to do it. Then again...I kinda think that I should just do a mass release. But then come the problem of me having to reformat everything as I release it. (For all the blue boxy thingies).

Any good advice? B.T.W I still am typing slow, but well...let's just say I am currently in the mood to type more. Though that'll end pretty quickly.

Chapter 17 :

(Finally done!)

Satisfied, Will looked at the group of zombies in front of him.

He at first wanted to experiment on where he should place the spikes on his body. So he used the cat zombies as a practice for himself.

Now, where before stood 5 clean zombies, stood 5 super dangerous spike filled catg zombies.

Each had a spike on their forehead, cause it’s suppose to be there. Just look at R*u’s first meal! Well other than it being a rabbit…… but that's just small details….

Each one had spikes coming out of its shoulders knees, and tail. The shoulders ones stuck out forwards, pointing directly in front of them. The knees had spikes that went from their knees and arced sideways to their sides.

Originally it was suppose to be arcing towards their stomach…. but they weren’t humanoids so it ended up stabbing them in their stomachs. Quite frankly, if Will hadn’t decided to test it out first on the zombies, then he would have to find some SERIOUSLY strong medications for himself or he could always try again in his next life.

At the end of their tail as a spike that came out from the tip and could be moved by moving the tail.

The rest of the body had random spikes sticking out, making them resemble a porcupine.

(I guess this works…. though I had originally wanted them to look like those guys from An*morphs…. oh well, guess I’ll live with this. Now for myself.)

Taking a deep breath to relax his mind, Will started creating the spikes for his own body.

He felt the hunger come back as spikes bursted out from his skin. In seconds, his entire body was filled with spikes. And he looked like he had even more spikes than his zombies.

(I don't have a lot of time…. these zombies can probably last maybe an hour more….I think its better to make backups.)

Making his decision, Will took all of the spike cat zombies and stuffed them into back into the storage.

Mana : 18/20

(I wonder how long it takes for me to recover a mana? There isn't those usual recovery ability stats for me to see…. oh well, as long as I don’t use all of my mana, then I can function well.)

Calling over the 3 skeletons who were standing near the “exit”, Will “Released” them, letting him make more minions.

The sounds of a continuous mewing could be heard along with the appearance and disappearance of black light.

Soon in front of Will stood 2 white cat skeletons and 5 cat zombies.

He then took a break to eat and replenish his empty stomach, again.

After eating his fill, Will went back to the task of spiking up his zombies.

(Now what can I do for the skeletons? I can’t really stick a spike in them seeing that there's nothing for it to be held on…. maybe I can make a cover for them and then attach the spikes?)

Trying out his idea, he first covered a skeleton completely in a plate of “spike”, seeing that it didn't fall off, he proceeded to completely cover the plate with spikes sticking out.

(What do you know, it works! Now for the other one….)

“GRUMBLE”

(Oh, COME ON! I just ate like a minute ago! Man, this is starting to really get on my nerves. I need to make a way for me to store extra food in me or something….)

Sighing, Will went back to his pile of food and ate another large serving, hoping that he doesn’t get fat…. OH THE HORROR, the very destruction of CUTENESS!

Repeating his actions, now Will had all of his minions ready to fight.

(The best plan should be for me to go around and look for enemies, and then summon my minions. Else it would be a waste of time for them to be out…. but I have no sense of direction….)

Will looked around his base, it took a while to build what he saw. If after putting in all that effort and then not able to find it, then wouldn't it be a SUPER waste?

He had only been in the immediate vicinity to look for fruits and they grew really fast for some reason. Like REALLY FAST, one day he takes all of the fruits, the next day it's filled right back. Must be magic or something….

Therefore, he had a very faint idea of his location.

What happened to his mental map?

It's still there…. the problem is, he can’t understand it….

After all what kind of 21st century person reads maps anymore? Everything Is digitalized, not to mention back on Earth he barely traveled at all. Maps were unnecessary in his old life.

There also was the fact that the mental map, really just tells him pretty much nothing. The colors seems to be randomly assigned, the focus is on himself and only had a radius of about 100 meters.

Since there wasn’t really a key for the different colors, he couldn’t just go and check out each and every color he saw. For all he know one color could mean “Certain Death”, better be safe and just avoid them all. Or at least have a strong backup in case something goes wrong… or just not even go personally and use a minion to scout it out.

(Hahh…. man I have a really bad feeling that I’ll never see this place again….. and I haven't even seen how the defenses will work out. Well, in any case I guess I can always just make a place like this in another area. Besides eventually I’ll have to get out of this forest, and by then I would have build many of these bases everywhere…. so…. one little kitty step for me, one big step for CUTENESS!)

Firmly walking forwards, Will didn’t look back as he disappeared between the trees.

-A Few Minutes Later -

(Yep. Completely Lost)

No big landmarks, no sense of direction, and no idea where he is. It would be amazing if he DID know where he is.

(So where to next? I can find food everywhere, seeing as these fruits grow in every area I had been at. At worst I can still eat tree leaves or something….)

“TWACK!”

“MEW!”

Still not completely used to the fact that he had many long and sharp spikes everywhere around his body. Will bounced off a tree he accidentally walked into, it mainly was due to the fact that a nearby Vine was wrapped around a spike pulling him forwards.

Shaking his cute little kitty head side to side, he was able to get rid of the sparkly things floating around him.

(Why haven't I found something to fight? Isn't this place suppose to be filled with monsters or something? Thinking about it now, maybe I just had really bad luck meeting both those wolves and the T-Rex…..)

“BBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!”

(! That…..roar? It’s the T-REX! Where is it coming from?)

Tilting his head, Will angled his ears around for the center of the sound.

Picking up the direction, he carefully trotted through the forest towards it.

Arriving at another clearing, this one seemingly more used than the one he had used for his base.

He saw that a T-Rex had gotten in the clearing and towered over 5 humanoids.

(People! I finally find civilization! Well, not really…. but it’s a start! Now to save them, don’t want the first people I see to die on me. Hopefully they’re friendly…)

With that thought in mind, Will summoned his minions in front of him.

A magical circle appeared in front of him, and then faded away to reveal his 10 spike cat zombies and 2 spike cat skeletons.

At the same time, the other occupant of the clearing, noticed the intruder and his minions.

The T-Rex look alike didn’t seem to be the one Will met before.

It was about 5 meters tall, but was green in color. Green scale like skin covered the body and had a length of about 6 meters.

It was standing right in front of the 5 humanoids, who were so covered in dirt and leaves that Will couldn't even tell their gender. The only thing that stood out was each had a circle of metal around their necks that was faintly glowing.

The 5 humanoids looked like they were trembling from the pressure of the monster in front of them and didn't seem to notice Will slipping in the clearing.

T-Rex look alike was a different story.

“BBBBBAAAAAAA!”

The T-Rex look alike began running in Will’s direction, seeing this he quickly commanded the skeletons, who in turn commanded the zombies.

(Squad 1, move and intercept! Squad two, circle around and hit it from the rear!)

Receiving their commands, the skeletons each led their group of 5 zombies and followed the instructions.

(Alright, a fight! Time to beat my very first opponent! Spikes, check! Stable terrain, check! All system go!)

Letting out a battle roar, Will rushed towards the enemy.

“MMMMEEEOOWWW!” (For CUTENESS!)

Running just behind his 1st squad, Will targetted the time as the T-Rex look alike was attacking his minions.

It’s first attack came from its tail, sweeping three of the zombies and smashing them away. The T-Rex look alike then leaned forwards trying to take a bite out of the nearby cat skeleton.

However, just as the jaws was nearly on it, the skeleton performed a perfect evasion, dodging inches away from the razor sharp teeth. The cat skeleton then jumped on the T-Rex’s face and clawed at it’s eyes.

Screaming in rage (or ba-ing), the T-Rex tried to run into a tree to get the cat skeleton off. But halfway through the clearing, it was ambushed by the 2nd squad of undeads as they jumped on top of it’s undefended back.

Now covered by cat undeads, the T-Rex blindly attacked places, trying to get rid of the unwelcome passengers.

However, undeads are quite stubborn, especially since they feel no pain or fear death.

Even when a lucky hit ripped off one of the zombie’s entire bottom half of the body, it continue to cling to the T-Rex back and stab with the spikes on its head and front paws.

Meanwhile Will was heading towards the humanoids that were just watching the bizarre fight in front of them.

Noticing his approach, they all started scrambling to get away. Each trying to help another to get up and run towards the forest. As far away from the clearing as possible.

Understanding their idea, Will starting running faster and blocked off their escape route.

Seeing that a walking ball of spikes stopping them from getting away, the humanoids seemed to have given up. They then just heavily sat on the ground, as though their legs gave out.

(Hm, let’s see what they are… oh? They’re female! And those ears! They’re BEASTKINS! The species that is closest related to the idea of CUTENESS! ALL HAIL CUTENESS!)

The 5 beastkin girls stared as the ball of spike suddenly seem to lay down and bow at them.

Then the sounds of bones cracking and bodies hitting the soft ground distracted them.

Turning around, they saw the T-Rex ripping apart the last of the cat zombies with it’s small front arms.

The other cat zombie littered around the beast, unmoving. While one of the cat skeleton tried to distract the T-Rex The other one laid crushed underneath one of the T-Rex’s heavy clawed leg.

(Oh dear….. looks like them T-Rex sure are strong….. can’t let them get to the CUTENESS! Time for SUPER distraction!)

Observing the scene, Will launched himself up and ran towards the barely injured T-Rex.

After all of the spikes and attacks from the 12 undeads, there were only small scratches on the scaley skin. It didn't even seem to be harmed at all.

(It’s time to release my secret attack!)

“MEW MEOW! MEW MEW MEOW!) (Fire Style! Fireball J*tsu!)

As he neared the beast Will jumped as high as he could, with a small assist from his still untrained wings. Barely reaching its front arms, he aimed upwards and released a rather short burst of flame from his mouth.

The entire T-Rex caught on fire.

(WHOA! Didn't see THAT coming…. it’s like it was doused in oil or something….cool…)

Will stood at a safe distance as he watched the T-Rex flailing around and screaming in pain.

The scent of cooked meat spread out, making Will have a sudden urge for chicken.

(Mmmm… Chicken…. )

Unnoticed the 5 beastkin girls had sneakily arrived at the border of the clearing and then in a burst of speed, disappeared into the rest of the forest.

Still watching the fire show, Will waited for his cooked meal to be done.

Slowly the fire diminished in size, then disappeared completely, revealing brunt black skin underneath.

(Well, it seems to have run out of fuel…. so can I eat it? I think for normal meat they had to be cooked until brown….. should I use my “Flame Breathe” to cook it again? But without food, then it’ll be more work than what it give me…. )

The large brunt body twitched.

(? Probably residue nerves or something…)

The body got up.

(Guess not….mewmemememe….. well then time for a tactical retreat!)

Doing a complete 180 turn, Will ran into the forest as fast as he could, as the angry ba-ing behind him bended the leaves and trees.
