The Dire Wolf leader’s health is now down to 3%, In all honesty. It's death was certain

But it stood up again.

Rave’s stamina has hit 0. He truly exerted everything he had on this battle and he is unable to move anymore.

The White Fox Leader also stood up and came closer to Rave.

“ Are they going to pull of their last strike ?! “

The 3 girls thought

They were about to go and help Rave when..

Contradictory to everyone's thought, the two bites their own skin and took out a small ball. The ball from the dire wolf is grayish in color, whilst the fox’s ball is pure white.

They threw the ball to Rave, moving their jaw up and down and nodded their head up. As if gesturing Rave to eat it.

“ What's this ? Identify ! “

Dire Wolf VazJack’s Monster Core

The Core of VazJack, the elite Dire Wolf.

“ Wha….Monster Core ! I didn't think it truly exist ! “

Named monsters, usually an elite or higher. Developed a small ball made by their own power. If an individual eats it, they will gain one of the monster’s skill and their strength.

However, the monster must be willingly giving it. If taken by force the core will crush upon contact.

This rarely occurred and usually only happen when the monster sense it's end and gifted their successor their power, because if they took out their core. They would die moments later.

“ Are you sure ? Why ? Why me ? “

The Leaders only shook their heads confirming their decisions

The Dire Wolf leader, VazJack has howled it's last howl. It has acknowledged your strength and admitted it's lost.

For it's admittance to your strength, a part of their power has been transferred to you.

The White Fox leader, Shyuukara has howled it's last howl. It has acknowledged your strength and admitted it's lost.

You Level has risen by 2 ! Speed rises by 6 point ! Attack rises by 3 point ! Fame rises by 20 point !

His Battle against VazJack raised his level by 4. But the acknowledgment by the 2 leaders rises his level by 8 in total !

While Rave is gaping in shock from the message that bombarded him. a small creature came out of hiding and approached him.

Grawuu..

Rave looked at the creature, it looked like a mix of a dire wolf and white fox with silver-white like and some mix of red in it's fur.

It came close to Rave and snuggled at him. A vision appeared, the others are also able to see it.

Somewhere quite far from here, a mountainous area.

There lived a pack of dire wolves and white foxes

The two alphas are not a normal breed. The Dire Wolf Alpha was of a Red Dire Wolf species.

“ Red Dire Wolves, also known as Blood Dire Wolf. I have read it in a book in the library.

There can only be one that existed at a time, once it's born it is immediately regarded as the future leader of the pack. And it's purpose is to unite the whole dire wolf species in the continent and make them prosper. “

The other Alpha, A Female Silvers-White Fox. A direct counterpart to the Red Dire Wolf.

The two alphas fell for each other, something that was known as a taboo among the two species. But the elders could do nothing, they knew the prophecy of the 2 alphas and let them mate.

“ The taboo huh, aside from being an eternal rival. The two species together could not bore a child “

Rave read it in a book in the Numeda library. According to the book, it was theorized to be one of the reason why the 2 species had such a bad blood between them.

After their mate, the others slowly accepted each other. It was though, but they respected the 2 Alphas and actually bonded in the end. Although they may be unable to bore a child, they finally accepted each other.

The Wolf and Foxes were living their lives happily, although there were stronger monsters living in the mountain than them, the two Alphas feared any monsters that intended to attack them.

The two Alphas then began actively adding their numbers from various areas, although the other pack leaders bowed down upon meeting the two. They could not agree to reconcile with the other species. It was a though and long journey for the two leaders but they are finally able to reconcile the two packs together and thrived.

It was a very heartwarming journey. Even Rave's Ice Cold Heart felt touched.

“ Hah…even though this is just virtual reality it's quite heartwarming “

The others also felt very touched at the two alphas journey. The fox and wolves that were watching were howling in sadness

Then, one day. A miracle happened, the Mother Silvers-White Fox bore a child. At first the Red Dire Wolf Alpha couldn't believe it and thought she mated with some other wolf causing anger to spark between the two species once more.

The howling of the fox and wolves were somehow translated into Rave's ears as he is the one the little creature showed the vision directly

But then a lone white fox entered the den of the dire wolves.

It was the White Fox pack leader he fought earlier on.

She wolfed and tried to defend her queen. The Dire Wolves were about to attack her when a lone Dire Wolf stood up for her and defended her.

“ I believe she is right woof ! “

Yes, it was the Dire Wolf Pack leader he fought earlier on too.

They were the 2nd in command in their packs and thoroughly believed in their leaders.

The Red Dire Wolf then believed their story and asked for the forgiveness of the white foxes.

He thought that as a female, she would have a duty to boar an offspring.

But the elders of the white fox shrugged him off. For Centuries the Silvers-White Fox never bore a child because they weren't able to find mates worthy of them. And it was the same for the current Alpha.

The Red Dire Wolf then shocked and disgruntled at his untrusting of his own mate. wanted to kill itself but was stopped by the others.

It was actually the same for the Red Dire Wolf, they were recorded to have never bore an offspring.

The Red Dire Wolf then met the Silvers-White Fox once more, and the later forgives him. That day, the wolves and foxes howled in celebration.

Not long after, The Dire wolf and White fox are celebrating their two Alpha’s offspring’s birth.

They were howling happily like never before, if they were a civilized race there would surely a big party thrown an ever bigger one than the time the two Alphas reconciled.

Tears flowed from the 3 girls

“ I thought they were just monsters..but ! They had feelings and thoughts too..” Lily Cried

“ Huwaa..and we just killed lots of them “ Saichi cried

“ Don't be Lily, Saichi. It was a fight for survival for the us and them. So don't regret it “

Kaede talked to her two friends

Even Rave..although no tears came out from him, he was deeply moved too.

The one the two alphas bore was a mix of Red Dire Wolf and Silvers-White Fox. The very little creature in front of them.

But their happiness was short lived, a demon appeared out of nowhere and attacked the whole mountain.

The 2 Alphas ordered the pack to run away. But the two of them stayed behind to ensure their kin retreated safely.

They entrusted their child to the leaders, their most trusted 2nd in command. The two leaders weren't willing to leave them behind but was persuaded by the two Alphas.

“ Please do this for us “

“ There's no one else we could trust our child to except the two of you “

Then they leapt off towards the demon bravely.

Afterwards, they managed to escape but on the way they escaped, they were attacked by a lot of monsters.

The White Fox leader went to engage all of them, the Dire Wolf leader wanted to help her but she refused.

“ If we were both to die, who would protect the Alpha’s child ? “

“ I am faster than you, so I should be more efficient in hunting low leveled ones, you protect the alphas’ child “

They later on managed to reside in this cave but the White Fox leader obtained heavy injuries.

Although they were strong, now only one of them could fight. Fearing that one day a group of humans or monster came to raid their den then their Alpha’s child would die too.

The Dire Wolf leader then ordered the others to lure any coming adventurers who they deemed as strong to him. Where he would fight with them one by one and see if there were anyone worthy to protect the Alpha's child in their steed.

More than 10 groups of adventurer had battled with him but none was worthy, the white fox leader was reaching her end and they feared she would be unable to pass on her abilities to the chosen one.

They became very anxious as days passed, no adventurers passed the forest again. They became worried until Rave came.

The vision ended, The wolves and foxes howled with even more sadness in their tone.

The 2 Pack leaders has chosen you worthy to continue protect their Alpha’s offspring in their stead.

The Creature has also decided you to be worthy of him

A Bond was mentioned in the Emperor's Book of Wisdom.

A Chance to Bond with a monster rarely occurred and only few bonds had been recorded over the millennia.

While one can have an unlimited amount of pet, one could only bond with one monster at their lifetime. Sometimes, someone with a strong spirit is able to bond with 2 monsters.

The monster one bonded with, could not die from battle and could revive 24 hours after it's death. Just like how players were, except it was 24 hours inside the game.

And it could evolve into a stronger monster as it grow, however a weak monster would have limits on how it grow.

*Hmm..*

He thought for a while, so this were the reason why they gave him their core.

“ They thought they weren't strong enough to protect their Alpha’s offspring and wanted to pass that job to someone stronger “

Rave looked at the two now dead leaders.

“ They bartered their life for the protection of their Alpha’s child huh “

He smiled as he looked at the two

“ They died a honorable death “

Rave crouched down and looked at the little creature.

Although it lost it's parents at a very young age, it stood strong.

Not a even a single tear came out, it's eyes burning with determination.

“ the system said I could have 2 bonds anyway, and this guy..i like him “

I see.. little guy.. You sure you want to be with me ?

Rave asked the little creature

The little creature nodded his head in response.

“ I accept “

His left hand burned in respond to his answer, he saw that the little creature’s left hand burned too.

A mark appeared on his left hand. A circle with Magic patterns surrounding the edge appeared, with the child creature’s shadow could be seen vividly inside the circle. It is half red half silver white in color, just like the creature’s fur.

The creature’s left hand had a mark too, the same circle with a shadow of Rave could be seen inside. It's a bit transparent in color, indicating that Rave still hasn't chosen his class.

Note : honestly I got the feels writing this chapter. I actually planned to introduce the Alpha’s offspring later on, but autoshock’s comment made me think : Hey ! I could do that ! So thanks a lot autoshock. It made a better ending for the wolf and fox too.
