《The most human elf in Shaylet - Paused until further notice》Wrong side up 4

Kevin tricked Rala into organizing the girls together while he snuck out and worked on his plans. The device he had created was designed to be inserted into a larger machine. He hadnt had time to build the bigger machine yet and had no idea where to put it. But now he had the perfect place, Finch's hidden chamber. The machine would be invisible from the entrance and the chair and would also be able to siphon unlimited amounts of energy from the divinity surrounding it. Kevin was using a small crane to lower bits of the machine into the liquid and move them into place. He had to be extremely careful when he entered the divinity to acutally build the machine, as it would burn severely if it touched him. He was using a small motorized diving suit with modified claws that he thought up earlier just for this. Once all the small parts of the machine were in place and fastened together he got ready to add the main part. He had to add another small crane just to lift the thing, it was extremely heavy and bulky. It just looked like a large section of wall with a empty slot in the middle. It was filled to the brim with technology and slid into place among the rest of the machine.
Kevin then re-entered his diving suit and jumped into the divinity for the last trip. He sunk to the bottom and walked over to where he installed his masterful machine. It spread around the bottom of the divinity lake and was completely invisible from the top. He climbed up until he reached the part he just installed and begun connecting it to the rest of the machine. As he worked he could feel the energy being drawn into the machine as he fixed it together. He finished and the machine hummed to life, it was loud at first but it started to quiet down until eventually it became silent. He just needed the final piece to complete his machine, then he would be ready. Kevin made some final checks to his machine before he left to hide his activities. He got rid of all the evidence that something was done here. He destroyed the cranes, the dive suit and even fixed the scuff marks on the floor from the diving suit's metal feet. Making sure the room was exactly as he found it before he left. He had to wait for the girls to return before he could even start making another of the device he needed to start the machine. There could only be one existing in this place at a time or else Rala or Finch might notice something. The two of them together would draw enough energy to alert everyone here that something was up.

The girls came out of the bathroom and I gave them the rest of the sandwhiches since I had already finished eating and went to look around. I walked through the resturaunt looking for something that might be usefull. Jumping over the counter and searching through all the drawers until I found what I was looking for. I found a large canister of fluid that had the words 'Highly Explosive' on it. What the hell it was doing in a resturaunt I dont know but I was going to use it. I used some towels I found in the corner and tied it to my back, It wasnt very heavy but it wasnt light either and kept looking for other useful things. I ended up just finding a lot of rotten food and mouldy drinks. I gave up on my search and returned to the girls, they had finished the sandwhiches and were waiting on me. They all seemed ready and for some reason they also seemed a little less nervous about being with me. I dont really know what they must have talked about but at least they arent terrified of me anymore. So I made sure I have everything and then pulled out my shotgun.
"Lets go" I said.
They nodded and started following me as I left the resturaunt area and headed back into the action.
As soon as we left we encountered a couple of groups of zombies and an odd looking thing with a fat belly and thin limbs. The zombies were taken out easily by the girls so I went after the fat creature. At first I unloaded a couple shots at its head which just kept growing back right after I shot it. Which obviously pissed it off so it turned and looked me right in the eye and shot a thick stream of orange bile out of its mouth. As soon as it launched I could smell it, I rolled to avoid it but still ended up getting a tiny bit on my left boot. I was going to ignore it but it caught fire and spread through the rest of my foot. I stomped it out with my other boot and ended up almost getting hit with another blast of bile from the creature. I managed to dodge a split second before it hit but the fire spread to my leg, I couldnt spend more time trying to put it out and risk getting hit with more of the stuff. I noticed it was starting to build up another load of bile so I shot it in the throat. Causing the bile to shoot out all over itself, immediately catching fire and spreading all over its body. I took this chance to shoot it a couple times and then continue trying to put the fire on my leg out. This bile was really weird, it seemed to have a will of its own and tried to spread itself all over whatever it touched, spreading its fire all over. I finally managed to put the fire out after losing most of my boot and pant leg. There werent any more enemies nearby but I also didnt have enough time to make another boot with my powers right now, so I just took off my other boot. Ill just go barefoot for a while, the floor was cold and smooth which felt really nice on my feet. The girls were over near the creature, they seemed to be collecting some of the bile. I thought that was really gross but, I could understand how it would be helpfull. Three wasnt collecting anything though, she seemed to just be soaking some of her arrows in it. I feel bad for whatever gets shot with one of those, gave me a mental image of burning from the inside out and I shivered. After they were finished we moved on to the entrance, we were finally here and it looked absoloutley disgusting.

Theomancer
My very own first book: I know it won't be perfect, so any constructive criticism would be appreciated. A peculiar reject from modern society ends up as one of the summoned people in another world, but will the premise hold up to the reality of things? only one way to find out! Follow an irascible Darwin's adventures while he pioneers his class in a whole new world, where colors and willpower are two of the most important things, besides respecting the Gods (and avoiding stronger pricks that are just waiting for an excuse to trample someone). -first-person, portal fantasy, litrpg -the cover is my crude attempt with Paint
