Malady was feeling left out, Vylet was training to be an assassin and Finch was off with his new demi-god friends. She was left all by herself most of the day. Lari left early in the morning to attend to her council duties and Lamis went to school during the day. She starting reading to pass the time but she was starting to grow restless. She left Lari's place and went out to explore the city. Lari had told her about the many ways to get around in the city safely so she felt confident that she could navigate her way around.

She left the Lamia district and headed for the first underground station to catch a train to the middle of the city. There was a sort of celebration going on today and Malady was curious as to what would be going on. Apparently the celebration was about the victory against the mad guild the other day and would also honor the ones lost in the fight. The station was almost bursting with people heading to other parts of the city for work or the celebration like Malady. She could barely see past the mob of shuffling bodies and the noise was almost deafening. She stuck to the wall and just waited for the train to come and take most of these people to their destination, she would get the next one as there were bound to be less people on it so she wouldnt have to fight to board. The train came and left taking a huge chunk of the people with it. It was no longer deafening with the sounds of loud conversation and one could walk around without touching everyone. Malady moved off of the wall and towards the edge of the platform to catch the next train and waited patiently. The trains were pretty active today because of all the activity so she didnt have to wait long before another one slid into the station. The ride was pretty uneventful except Malady broke the fingers of a man that tried to feel her up and an old lady fell asleep and fell out of her seat during the trip. She disembarked at the central city station which was entirely different from the station she boarded the train in.

The central city station was grand and open with lots of decorations covering all parts of the building. Even the ceiling had elegant carvings depicting some sort of myth in it. The building looked extremely expensive and Malady found herself overwhelmed when she got off the train. She didnt even realize that she was standing in the way of the other passengers till the old lady that had fell out of her seat placed a hand on her shoulder, waking her out of her daze.

"Its your first time here isnt it? Hehehe Dont worry child, all the people that see this for their first time get a little overwhelmed by it." Malady moved out of the way of the other passengers and the old lady did as well. It seemed that she wanted to talk some more.

"How do you like our city so far young lady? its always nice to hear an outsiders opinion on our city, you know I helped build this place back when I was young." Malady could see how proud she was of this place, her eyes were filled with light.

Malady thought for a moment before she answered. "Its amazing, this city is filled with things I have never seen before. The people here all seem happy and all seem very hopeful, this city is truly a great place."

Malady could see her answer made the old woman practically burst with pride. This woman was truly happy to live in this city. Malady envied this woman, she had created a place for herself that she was proud of. The old woman talked to malady about the city for a little while before she had to leave. Malady was happy for the old woman, she wished she could feel the same way in the future about something.

Malady left the building before she got distracted by the beauty of the place again and entered the center of the city. Malady walked out of the building to find herself in a huge square that was filled with people having a party. There were soo many stalls and lots of them were selling food and drinks, there were musicians playing and children dancing. There were people playing drinking games and getting into wrestling matches on the ground. It was a huge party Malady couldnt even see the entire thing. But the smells that reached her nose immediately distracted her. It was such a strong smell of meat and spices, it made her so hungry she was practically drooling. She almost ran over to the food stalls before she paused, she didnt bring much money. Maybe I should wait until later to get something I really want.

She watched as someone walked up to the stall and get some food but didnt pay and just walked off. She got curious and walked over.

"Excuse me sir, how much is the food here?" Malady asked the man in the stall.

"Its free for today only miss, in the spirit of the celebration." He said while handing Malady a package of wrapped meat. Malady smiled and thanked the man walking around while eating her food. It was meat that was dipped in powdered spices before being fried. She only got three peices of meat but since all the food was free it was no big deal, now she can try as much as she wants and she wont have to spend any money at all. She walked all around listening to the music and watching the dancers. It was amazing, but she couldnt help but wonder what was going on with Finch and malady. There was an empty bench where she could sit and watch the dancers and the musicians. The dancers were dancing around a small fire to the ever increasing rythem, all of them extremely talented. Twirling around each other and spinning, Malady didnt notice at first but now that she is watching them she saw that one of them had an extra leg. It was an addition that made his dance look a lot more interesting. The dance was building up to its final move. All of the dancers jumped up really high and did a couple flips in the air, while the dancer with the extra leg stood on his hands. With amazing accuracy and dexterity the dancers landed on the man's three feet, two people per foot. It was an amazing display and Malady couldnt help but be amazed and clap for them. The dancers jumped off of their friend and helped him up, then they all bowed to the audience together. Malady relaxed on the bench for a little longer before the smell of food made her get up for more free food.
