The next hour was the most painful and weird experience in my life. The man next to the bed was calmly but steadily pulling black tendrils out of my body. The feeling of tentacles being pulled out of my flesh as they struggle and move around was both painful and extremely weird. After it was finally over Jonah healed my leg and started explaining exactly what the hell that was.
"When corruption enters the body of a normal person, it acts like a normal poison. Killing them at a speed that depends on the amount in their body. However, when it enters the body of someone with divinity it also acts as a poison but the more it spreads the more sentient it becomes. As it spreads it begins to take over the body of the host. In its final stages the host becomes trapped in their own mind, still conscious of the outside world but unable to do anything. In some cases this is worse than some of the strongest demons. Because if the corrupted one is still being worshipped, it becomes a corrupted god. The corruption can spread throughout the entire religion using its followers as carriers. Normally once you get to a certain stage the corruption cant get into your body very easily and you gain ways to fight it yourself. But you arent there yet, so you need to be more careful."
"What are you going to do with the creature?"
"We burn it and bless the ashes to get rid of the corruption." He responded nodding to his servant, who took the bucket and left the room.
"Now, unless you have any more questions we must get rid of this now. Your leg should be fine in the morning so you should get some rest."
He got up and headed for the door.
"Thank you Jonah." He helped me alot so far and he just oozed that grandfatherly feeling. I had to make sure to thank him properly later.
He turned around and nodded with a genuine smile on his face, before leaving and closing the door. Leaving me alone again. I looked at my leg, which was looking very irratated and red. But other than that there was nothing wrong. Not even a scar remained, he was very good at healing. I covered myself in blankets making sure to leave my left leg exposed slightly. It didnt hurt but the blankets made it itch like crazy. I tried to relax and went back into my inner world, appearing on the platform in my hidden chamber. I looked over at the screens and one of them was still red. But the displayed message had changed, My focus made the screen enlarge and move in front of me. Apparently I didnt have to be sitting down in order to use them, which was nice. But the message was just as alarming as the first one.

'Corrupted have entered the base'
Corrupted have entered the base? What the hell does that mean?
I left the secret chamber to look for myself. Once I opened the door I was immeditely aware something was wrong. The hallways were dark except for a blinking red light and there was debree and broken junk everywhere. The walls had weird holes and claw marks all over them. There was a fight here but I dont see any bodies so I cant tell who won. I followed the signs of battle down the hallway till I found a corpse, it was no one I recognized which was good. The problem was that it was a monster with large claws and teeth, thick skin and it was extremely bony. I dont think a sword could kill this thing. I looked at its wounds and they were just large holes all over its body. Must be some sort of weapon that Kevin or the girls here came up with.
I kept walking down the hall and started hearing something. It sounded like random explosions and got louder as I got closer. I came to a long hallway that branched into two other hallways. I could see bright flashes of light from the one the battle sounds were coming from and head towards them. Sticking my head around the corner I saw a barricade on the other side of a large mass of zombies, with alot of the worker girls using metal weapons to shoot at them. Not wanting to get shot with whatever it was they were shooting I hid behind the corner until the mass of zombies were dealt with. The shots were starting to calm down, I peeked to see that they had come out from behind the barriacade to make sure that all the zombies were actually dead. I moved very slowly and held my hands up to not startle them. They noticed me and held their weapons up, but then they recognized me and for some reason tensed up a little more. Some of them even bowed to me, I didnt really know how to react to that so I didnt. I just walked towards them and they let me through the barricade. After I was on the other side the girls went back to checking the zombies. One of them approached me and handed me one of the metal weapons they were using and pointed at a small firing range they had set up. I didnt really know much about this weapon so I tried it out at the range after watching one of them use it, it seemed pretty easy. I wasnt ready for the kick and the butt hit me in the chest because I was holding it wrong. I watched one of the girls do it again and corrected myself. It went better this time, a couple more times and I felt like I got the hang of it.

They called it a 'shotgun' it was one of the weapons Kevin started spreading around after the invasion started. I asked them why it was so dark and why there were flashing red lights, they said that kevin was responsible for it. He told them it was because that is just how its supposed to be in these kinds of situations. He even gave them weird glasses that kept score of how many creatures they killed. None of them wore it because it made a really annoying announcement everytime they killed something. Kevin was an odd guy but he was helpful in his own way. I was given a brief explanation on how to properly aim and use the weapon. I heard a small chuckle from one of the younger girls when I was taught about 'cocking' the gun, kind of made me wonder why someone so young was here in the first place. I heard a disturbing roar in the distance and I saw everyone get their weapons ready, so I did too. I went back to the barricade and aimed my weapon down the hall, waiting for a target to show up. The girls that were checking the bodies had already come to this side of the barricade. It seems they had moved the bodies farther away and arranged them in a small wall. The barriacade had a line of people including me all pointing our weapons in one direction. I could see something in the distance and I could still hear some sort of roar. But now it was more of a low grumble. Then I saw them, another mass of zombies just down the hall. Slow moving but steady and relentless. I was waiting until they reached the wall of bodies before I started shooting. It seemed everyone else was too.
It was extremely quiet other than the groans from the enemy. Their slow shuffling sounded like someone sharpening a sword on a whetstone. It seemed like forever before they finally reached the wall of bodies. I rested my finger on the trigger and was about to shoot when the body wall exploded into flames. Aparently they did more than just stack bodies. The fire spread along the horde coating almost all of them in flames. Only then did we start shooting.
